Motiv Tank Yellowjacket Bowling Ball

Introducing the Tank Yellowjacket, the ultimate choice for dominating challenging environments. The Tank line is already known for its exceptional control, but the Yellowjacket Tour Edition takes it to the next level with a microcell polymer (MCP) coverstock featuring MOTIV’s new Duramax™ additive.  This innovative technology gives you a strong MCP shape while being adaptive to finish adjustments.

Featuring Frixion™ Mark 5 Solid MCP coverstock, the Tank Yellowjacket is set apart because it utilizes new Duramax™ technology.  This technology allows the ball to resist lane-shine and hold the finish profile longer.  This is especially important on aggressively sanded bowling balls like this one boasting a 1000 Grit LSS finish.  Yet, unlike other balls in this performance class, the Tank Yellowjacket is also easily tunable for high friction environments that require a higher finish with more energy retention.  Amazingly, Duramax™ technology allows the Tank Yellowjacket to hold traction, even at a higher finish.

To achieve the desired ball motion for the Tank Yellowjacket, we've carefully selected the Flux core - the ultra-high RG and low differential core that minimizes down-lane motion.  This feature empowers you to use cover texture to determine when the ball reads the lane so adjustments can be made accordingly.

Our team at MOTIV has worked tirelessly to engineer a versatile microcell polymer shape with a cover that can be adjusted faster and easier to suit any environment.  Whether you're bowling on extreme wet/dry or another challenging condition, the Tank Yellowjacket will give you the control you need to excel on the lanes.

When to Use

Speed Dominant - For a speed dominant bowler, MCP ball motion is seldom necessary. However, the Duramax Anti-Lane Shine additive in the Yellowjacket does make this ball useful to speed dominant bowlers in the absolute highest friction environments they could ever encounter.  Otherwise, speed dominant players will be best served to use the Tank Yellowjacket in higher friction environments when looking to play straight and control wet/dry conditions.

Balanced - Bowlers with complementary speed and rev rate can use the Tank Yellowjacket when other balanced bowlers use urethane.  However, due to the easily adjusted coverstock, balanced bowlers may also use the Yellowjacket when the lanes are very dry and difficult to control.

Rev Dominant - Crankers will find many uses for the Tank Yellowjacket as it can control wet-dry on many volumes of oil due to their speed to rev rate ratio.  These bowlers will enjoy using the latest Tank on sport patterns and anything where an ultra smooth ball motion is critical.  Additionally, rev dominant bowlers who are typically unable to use urethane due to how early it reads will be able to shine the Yellowjacket cover to use it when balanced bowlers are using the urethane.

The new Tank Yellowjacket is the next advancement in the Tank line with MicroCell Polymer. The new Frixion M5 MCP cover around the previously used Flux core provides a very forward and slow response to give off the same motion as true urethane without being true urethane. This is especially helpful considering all of the recent controversy surrounding urethane. This ball will be perfect for shorter or lighter patterns when you need something slower and forward.
