Motiv Pride Liberty Bowling Ball

The Pride™ line comes roaring back with the newest addition, the Pride Liberty.  A fearless ode to the spirit of American craftsmanship, the hybrid Pride Liberty commands attention on and off the lanes. The Pride series is the benchmark for medium oil ball motion, and this new hybrid Pride Liberty is the stronger and more angular upgrade to the original Pride.  This isn't just another bowling ball; it's a statement piece, standing as a powerful tribute to all things bold and indomitable.

At its heart beats the mighty Dominion core.  Featuring a 2.50 RG, .042 differential, and .010 asymmetry, the Dominion core bridges the gap between the Gear APG, found in the Black Venom and the Overload core found in the Evoke.  This unique benchmark asym spec range allows bowlers to wield an asymmetrical ball on lower volumes and higher friction than the Evoke or Jackals allow.  Additionally, asymmetrical cores help players to control ball motion more than most symmetrical cores now that weight holes are illegal in competition.

Wrapped around this core is the latest innovation in our arsenal - Dynamic Propulsion Hybrid Reactive coverstock. Imagine a cover that’s cleaner than the Pride Dynasty, yet as assertive in its down lane motion as the Pride Empire.  This hybrid cover blends the best of both worlds to create a ball motion that will get through the front of the lane with ease without losing any bite on the backend.

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant Bowlers - The Pride Liberty should fit well in the bag of a speed dominant bowler looking for a control ball on moderate to moderate-high friction environments.  The hybrid shell should make the Pride Liberty a versatile middle of the bag option for speed dominant bowlers.  With some added surface, it can be a controllable medium oil ball, but with a bit of shine, a piece to use later in the block for moderate-dry lanes.

  • Balanced Bowlers - For balanced bowlers the Pride Liberty is a great “lane reader".  This will serve as an outstanding first ball out of the bag for bowlers looking to get a great idea of what’s going on with the lanes.  The Pride Liberty will also be outstanding for fresh to moderately broken down lanes for many house shots.

  • Rev Dominant Bowlers - Most rev dominant players had trouble using the Pride Dynasty because of the exceedingly strong coverstock.  A cleaner and more angular cover allows Rev dominant players to throw the Pride Liberty when speed dominant players would use a Pride Dynasty; granting them great command of the pattern in moderately high concentrations of fresh oil.

Core: Dominion Type: Asymmetric Coverstock: Box Finish: Dynamic Propulsion Hybrid Reactive Layout: 45 x 4 ½ x 70 Strength The Dynamic Propulsion Hybrid Reactive coverstock of Pride Liberty provides it with a faster drive at the breakpoint to that of Pride Dynasty. Pride Liberty compared to Pride Dynasty clears the fronts more effortlessly, Pride Liberty is also earlier than the Nuclear Forge and Crimson Jackal. Pride Liberty in terms of backend recovery is more to that of Pride Dynasty, I cover more boards with Liberty to that of Pride Dynasty. The combination of backend motion provides strong traction, at box finish and surface adjustments Pride Liberty still handles well in the oil. Weaknesses I have found on drier patterns Pride Liberty can be too strong overall. Upon encountering such conditions I balled down to smaller weaponry. K.C. I have been a fan of all of the Prides so far and this one doesn't disappoint! A definite change from the Pride Dynasty as it is very much a traction piece more designed to control the lane where the Liberty is much cleaner and a more significant downlane shape. I feel like after throwing it for some time now, it is the perfect balance of each of the Prides so far that we have released. It's an upgrade in strength in oil from the original Pride and Pride Empire, without overlapping into the realm of the Dynasty, while also providing a strong continuous shape downlane without overlapping into the realm of the Empire as I believe if you're a fan of the Pride line, you can definitely keep a Dynasty, Liberty and Empire in the same bag to give you each spectrum of shape. The new cover is great for having enough control in oil to utilize as a first transition ball for middle Rev rate players or as a first ball out of the bag for higher Rev rate players. I think for other balls as well, it would pair well with something like a Crimson Jackal and Hyper Venom, to give you a lineup of cleaner shapes for high friction lane surfaces, or even with the Venom Shock and Black Venom to give you a great combination of shapes for Medium Oil conditions. - Anthony Evans, MOTIV Staff Member

The Liberty returns the Dominion core wrapped in the Dynamic Propulsion Hybrid cover. The Liberty will be for those looking for benchmark reaction from an asym core. When the Black is not enough when on lower volume and or higher friction surface and you want the control that an asym core provides the Liberty will be the ball out of the bag. If Dynasty is to much in the mids and need something cleaner the Liberty is ball of choice. Speed dominant bowlers who like the control when playing up the lane will benefit from the Liberty. Rev dominant will look to use this on higher volumes
