Visionary Amulet Glow Bowling Ball

(4 reviews) Write a Review
The Glowing Amulet is shown in its normal condition (neon yellow). The ball will charge with exposure to any light source (5 minutes in the sun or under a black light works best) and then, unlike other "glow" balls that only work under a black light, when the charged Amulet is placed in a dark area it will continue to glow for hours. The core is the inner portion of the Gargoyle with a larger spherical wrap. This is then surrounded with a new phosphorescent hard URETHANE cover (patent pending) that truly GLOWS-IN-THE-DARK. This ball contains NO radioactive materials but due to the special chemicals involved to create this ball, slight color variations and light streaks might be found throughout the cover stock. These streaks are NOT defects and in no way effect the performance or integrity of the ball. Although this ball is designed as a spare ball, the urethane cover and dynamic core create a great ball for dry lanes or for crankers. Drill it like you would any other 2-piece ball (stacked, leverage, etc.) This may make the ball a little more aggressive for spares than some people like. For a straighter spare ball, drill it very tame and balance the static weights out to close to zero (top, side, and finger). For even straighter roll, use a ball with low top weight and drill the ball axis, placing a weight hole near or on the axis to produce 1/2 to 3/4 ounce negative side weight.

My Glowing Amulet is drilled pin over the bridge with the CG kicked out to the right. It weighed in at 16lbs with a 2-3" pin out distance. This ball makes shooting the ten pin very easy to do, as I throw it natrually at the pin and watch as the ball gently hooks two boards so it won't fall into the gutter. I also threw this ball on drier portions of walled out house shots and found as long as you play in the dirt the ball will arc smoothly and evenly without over reaction. Don't stay in the sahara for too long though, because the Amulet Glow is strong enough to roll early without oil to get it down the lane some. However, this ball definitely hates oil of any kind, except enough head oil to get it down some. It hits and carries well for what it's worth, and it's a great all around dirt/spare ball that attracts alot of attention.

I got this ball from the good guys at www.buddiesproshop.com, good pro shop, good, i drilled it up to hook on the dry, and jimminy crickets does it ever, good solid hit and good corner pin carry, and when there is oil out it goes straight as an arrow and is great for shooting 10 pins, but if i try to throw it when there is any oil out i got 2 words for you, plack 10. I suggest that anyone looking for a ball for dry lanes picks this one up, or if you dont have a lot of hand and need a good spare ball. Once again another great ball from Visionary.

The ball is 16 pounds with a 3 inch pin and 3 ounces of top weight. The pin is just right of my ring finger, and the cg is in my palm. I bought the amulet because I needed a new ten pin ball and hoped the amulet would be usefull on dry lanes as well. The ball is even better than I had dared hope. On the ten pin spares the ball slides down the lane perfectly and then stops dead on the 2 board to smack the ten pin in the face! I'm finally able to make a small error on the ten pin spare and still pick it up. On a medium comdition i can play right up the 5 board with the amulet and crush the pocket! On drier lanes it can be swung a bit more. THE SHOCK IS THAT IT CARRIES AS WELL AS MY ERASE IT OR PANTERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a great ball and it has 2 uses. A great ball to carry with you always. LOUIE

To help combat some severely dry conditions I often encounter, I decided to try an Amulet. Visionary rates the hardness at 78 - 81 and the Wet/Dry hook rating at 5/8. So what we have here is a urethane cover harder than a Blue Dot with a big, powerful core. I wanted this ball for a very focused purpose, which was to allow me to play wherever I want, with normal turn and release, on very dry lanes. I ordinarily do not care what a ball looks like. However, it is charitable to call this ball ugly. It looks like an experiment with egg drop soup and banana pudding gone horribly wrong. If you put blue grips in it, you might give yourself a bad headache from the strobe effect. The surest statement of how ugly it is is that the teenagers uniformly loved it. It's unfortunate that Visionary would package this genuinely useful article as a gadget ball. Mine is 3" pinout, 3.36 oz top weight, 15.95#. I wanted a good compromise of strength and control, so we drilled it 5 x 4, my favorite gen
