Purchased a few weeks ago for burn out reactions and the ball skids enough for the ball to create energy management so the ball will be able to hit the pocket. When thorwn properly it will destroy racks. Stay focused on the shot and put the muscle on it and let the revs begin. 299,278,219 for a 796. Highest series in about 16 years. get this ball for the typical league burnout shot and you will save all your impoact for the pocket. Get the 5.0 for the longer oil patterns. Look out for the Roborule in December and the machine in April 2006. Stay on the track because this train is you friend that will not hurt you or your pocket.

Not only is this ball one of the best looking balls on the market. it is very versatile. you can throw this all 3 games on a house shot and have a lot of area. By the third game i was out of room to move left, but i took some hand out of the ball and it was in the hole. Left a lot of ringing 10s but couldnt be mad about that. the ball had drive and created pin action. not a lot of splits as long as i came close to the pocket. could also be thrown on heavy oil and be effective. not a lot of swing room but had nice backend when it cleared the heads.

The Track Exception is a good ball. It was the first one out of my bag for months and is the best Track ball i have ever thrown besides the deceased Contender. This ball has a nice backend and actually finishes unlike most Track Balls i have owned. I had to get it out to the dry for it to really hook though, doesnt like a lot of oil up front. As soon as I got my first Storm ball in the mail the X-Factor, it took exactly three hours of throwing it for it to take the Exceptions place in my bag and for me to sell it. If you are loyal to Track or can get one cheap. I say go for it. If you have other options, try them out.

My boss offered me a ball if I came in on my time off a lot and he got to choose for me. At first he chose the Xception 5.0 but it was already back ordered so we settled with this. I'm thinking this should've been our first choice. I've tried this on house shots and tournament shots and am able to get a great read out of this ball. Whether I want to play deep inside or ride the rail I'll know at release what it's going to do. Plus it's beautiful to look at too. I tried this piece of equipment on some Guardian lanes when the heads dry up QUICKLY and it got through that mess really well. Didn't want to do the double check those lanes like to get. Acted as if the first 30 feet didn't exist.

I bowl in a wood house with cooked heads. 38 Ft Pattern with a buff to 42-ft. Ball speed 18-19 mph. Med. revs. Pin was 3-4 inches. Pin is about ½ inch ring finger. Mb kicked 3’ right of the thumb. Weight hole is on my grip line and also 1’ to the right of the cg. This ball really lives up to its name exceptionally long and strong. In my house I can just get in and wheel it and it comes back from about anywhere and hits like a truck. And carries the corners great. Great 1,2,3 punch with the Gp2, Aggressive, and Exception. Remember bowlers when done bowling clean your equipment with Track Clean N Dull. Bsuproshops.com Track Amateur Staff

On fresh shots, the ball wanted to skate too long and not recover enough....but what polished pearl was ever made for that condition? On second shift or when the lanes break down late in the first shift, this ball shines. It gets through the heads GREAT and makes a big move on the backend! I have 2 of these, both drilled the same. Pin under ring, cg in my palm, and the mass bias left of the thumb in my track. I scuffed one with a grey scotchbrite, and it did make the ball pick up a roll a little sooner, but not very much. The GOO LS cover gets the ball through the heads all the time! Every tournament bowler needs this ball for crossing lanes late in the day!

this is another great balll from track like my rule gp2 but this ball has a sharper breakpoint reaction and a super big back end and also hits pretty good and has a lot of lenght and that its good for control your game i drill this ball with the pin over the bridge and the cg throwit away a little something like a benchmark without a baqlnce hole this ball rolls pretty nice and hit &carry combination makes strikes and good scores this is one of the best ball i have ever rolled in medium oil or med-heavy also hit pretty pretty nice like a monster truck

I drilled this ball with the pin above the ring finger, the cg kicked right about an inch, with the MB about an inch right of the thumb. It is very clean through the front and mid lane, with a strong, smooth backend. It is the biggest skid/flip ball currently available from track in my opinion. It allows me to play left when the lanes break down, giving me enough on the back to open the lane up. This ball will be very effective on shorter and broken down patterns. Longer patterns are the only balls weakness, but the Rule and Slash are better designed for heavier and longer patterns.<scrip

I have 2 exceptions 1 I left out of the box the other I scuffed with an old beat up green pad. Both balls have exceptional backend movement. For med-med/dry conditions I use the box finish. I drilled this ball with the pin below and between my fingers cg 1 1/2 inches to the right x hole inch past my PAP. For heavy-med/heavy conditions I use the scuffed ball. I drilled this ball with the pin below my ring finger cG 3 inches to the right x hole 2 1/2 inches below my pAP. Both balls allow me to open up the lane. They never seem to lose energy on the back. One very versatile ball. -------------------- John Walther III Track International PBA Eastern Region Staff Member

The Xception is a great ball for when the lanes break down. Ball clears the fronts very easily and is very controllable on the backend. Ball skids a little to much on oil and will go past the breakpoint. Ball works great with the box surface, but you can tweak the surface for your likeing. I drilled mine with pin 41/2 from my PAP MB 4 inches just right of my thumb. The Xception is a good complement to the stronger balls in Track's Line. If the Rule or the GP2 is too strong for the condition go to the Xception.

I have 2 Xceptions to review. The Xception is great at getting down the lane with allot of recovery. Ball#1 - Pin above middle finger and mb in position #2 next to thumb. I use this ball when added length is necessary. This drill allows me to get the ball through the burnt heads easily and not lose any recovery or carry. Ball#2 - Pin under the fingers on grip midline mb in position #3 right of thumb. This drill allows me to get the ball started sooner and still has allot of back-end. I use this when I want to cover allot of boards. I can throw this ball coast to coast. -------------------- Tom Hess Track Regional Staff Vise-Grip Pro Staff

I drilled my Xception 4.5 x 3 with the pin under my fingers and balance hole on my axis. This ball rolls very even and hits like a truck. This is my go to ball when the track starts to hook and there is a little carry down. Great ball for the 2nd shift. This is one of the best balls I have ever seen then rolls through the midlane without over reacting. This ball does not like a ton of oil and it also does not like super dry heads but for everything else in between this is a great ball. Blaine Weninger TRACK PBA Regional Staff

This is my third high performance ball after Track Phemom series. This ball looks a little bit stupid when I throw it out and passing thru exactly arrow. But suddenly, this ball seems like hit someting or added by some invisible force then turned into pin rack pocket without notice near by 45 feets. What a flippy boy!! Really hit hard. The strike sounds feedback is totally different with my Phenom or Unleashed.Very special one I suggest you buy one to try out by your own. Also, this ball moving on head boards may not looks smooth.Almost as a drunker ball rolling on lane. However, the backend comes so urgently & extremely when cross on dry zone.In the beginning,I am affraid this may not allow me to have much more spare room to have mis-shots.But not true actually...Xception done well & makes me amazing for the tolerance when not seriously miss shot I did.It covers & helps to correct up the strike route. Well, this is a nice ball you really need.Great job!Track.

Have only thrown it one night, but I like what I see so far. This ball has a monster back-end flip. I drilled it specifically for a heavy oil pattern I encounter in my Saturday night league, and it didn't disappoint, but it did disappoint in the carry department, which is the whole reason I'm trying 15lbs in the first place (my carry % w/16lbs got to be outright awful). But, this was probably more the house/condition than the ball. It flipped and hit like a truck when I threw it at the house where I drilled it - even on a whole day's worth of carry down from junior leagues.

this ball is an overall killer, it will not stop crushing pins when there is oil on the lane, if there is no oil on the lane then you wont even see me with this ball unless i am goofing off. i drilled this ball with the pin to the right of the ring finger and the cg just below that with the mass bias in the track area. this will give it a nice roll instead of a snapping action on the backend. and it works nicely, this ball can't be stopped when it is in the pocket, it is a killa a killa guerilla killa...nevermind, but anyways YES this is the best track ball i have had (which isnt saying much since the other track ball was a super freak with ugly plug...thanks TACO). anyways yes this ball is great and i thank ryan for the trade, i think anyone who needs hooker in there life should get one of these. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!

The Xception can be used on just about everything you will see out of a league shot. It goes extremely long and makes a turn in the backend that is mind boggling. Perfectly compliments the Rule. HOWEVER there are definately conditions where you will get the Xception to cover more boards because of how strong it is in the backends off of the dry. This ball gives Track a look on the lane that they did not have in an asymmetrical before it. I have tried several different layouts and surface preps with the Xception and you can create an entire arsenal out of this ball. Drilled leverage with the surface at about 800 it will work on oil (once again, this is not the best condition for this ball), drilled weak and used on dry patterns it will stand out. A definate winner.

well my friend that drills bowling balls and i thought about drilling something for me that was made to hook early because lately i have been getting my ball speed up without my revs so we did it to this ball and wow. this ball was tough for me to keep on the left side of the lane no matter where i played. this ball was just too much for me and thats not a statement i normally make. i tried taking hand out of the ball and still i didnt know what to do with this ball, be sure to have this ball drilled long because if not it will be taking off through the face. soon i will trade my friend it for his ice so i can have something a little calmer<s

Pros: Get down the lane and has a great strong move on the back ends! Cons: none as of yet Lane Condition bowled on= fresh oil 42ft on new synthetic hpl lanes. Bowling style= Right Handed semi Cranker, 18-19 mph ball speed. Ball condition= Brand new in box surface condition layout= drilled fingertip, pin above and in between the fingers, cg moved right toward pap,MB rt of thumb about 1". My PAP is 5" over, and 3/4" up. The Xception is a great ball for someone that wants a long and sharp reaction. It has no problem getting down the lane, and has a great strong recovery. Compared to my Freak-A-Zoid, I'd say it 's about 4ft in length further down the lane b4 it starts to hook. I shot 300-836 with it sunday 1-9-05, only the 2nd time i used it. This is a follow up on my review from a few weeks ago. This ball is my ultimate favorite. With it, I've rolled 11 consecutive games over 200, which for me has never happened before. That number is out of a total of 13 games so far. My only bad games with it were the first two games, which were mainly for getting used to the ball. Here are the games I've rolled so far with it in order: 160,168,202,211,206,214,235,216,215,243,258,233,206. I truely believe that this is one of the best bowling balls ever made. If you don't have one, I suggest you buy one asap. You really won't regret it.

Just got this ball acouple of days ago. Ball drilled differently than any of my other balls. This ball goes long, but once it makes it's move, this ball flys. First couple of games didn''t do to well but the final two games, I stood on board 30 and threw straight up the 5 board, and the ball did the job. But there was no room for error due to the fact that I had no area to work with at all. Still, I see better days to come with ball. If you're looking for a great medium oil ball, pick this one up. You won't be dissapointed.

I have drilled several of these balls and one layout that works well for down and in players is to put the pin about 2 inches to 2 1/2 inches away from your pap with the mass bias just right of your thumb hole, close to the strong position. I drilled this for a guys that does not have a ton of hand but throws the ball well and it suprisingly gets alot of length and make a hard turn to the pocket. It gets rid of the over under that alot of people get with this ball. Let me know what you think.<sc

I have it drilled up 4x4 I have 320 RPMs of the hand (C.A.T scans) and 18 mph. I have used this ball on sport shots (Las Vegas and NJ tornements) and on a few house shots. + Ball is best on house shots where it is ok to use a ball that has such a strong (angular) back ends and one has plenty of area. Ball reminds me of my X-Factor, only it hits harder and has more energy in the back end. This ball revs up in the mid-lane and then makes a left turn. has no problem covering boards... all of them. This is definatly one of the best medium oil balls on the market if not the best.<

I don't have a review, so I am upset they make you pick a rating. Here's my problem... I bought the Xception because it seemed to be a ball I would be able to replace my THREAT with. I think the pro didn't drill this ball for my style of bowling. Basically, when I use this ball (inside of the 2nd arrow (10)), the ball does next to nothing. If I play this ball into the dry (outside of the 2nd arrow), the ball basically skids, then left turns when it hits the dry boards. This makes the ball very hard to control. And a mistake left is a missed head pin, and a mistake farther into the dry is a spilt. There's no arc or midlane roll, as far as I can tell. I am not too up on the terminology of ball drilling, but the pin is just under my fingers, between them and the center of gravity is right in my palm. The MB (or whatever they call it) is about 3 inches (right and down) from my thumb hole. I would like to drill this ball to arc into the pocket with medium flare (at most). I disl

one word that descibes this ball.........not Xceptional.....but versatile.......i'm a high rev lefty so put a 4x5 on the ball....I have bowled two league sets and shot 1476 for 6......also taking cash off of any one that wants to play......high hits...light hits...ball flat out carries everything....gets through heads with ease flips hard and leaves nothing on the deck.....probably one of the best medium ball that have come out in a few years in my opinion. i would think that a stronger drill would yield more reaction, but the drill i put on it seemed to roll very well with an above average move and way above average hit and mix
