The ball has alot of positive feed back from alot of bowlers. I know some bowlers that love the ball so much that they own three. All drilled differently and all have different finishes on the balls from factory out of the box to highly polished. You can drill the ball strong and play sport patterns out of the box with factory finish. You can also polish the ball with a strong drill or medium drill and play on house patterns. Both polised and dull finishes can be altered very easilly to suit the condition out on the lane for sport or house patterns. The weight block is outstanding because you can do so much with the ball as far as drill patterns go. You can go strong, weak, skid flip, or strong or smooth arc. Hitting power on the ball is great. I have shot honor scores with the ball and I have also seen other bowlers shoot honor scores with the ball as well. The ball is suitable for any bowler who struggles with over and under reactions. This ball has none. Easy to control

This ball is forgiving. Keeps the pins low, too. If you miss and go Brooklyn, it still carries the pins very well. Usually a strike. If you swing it out too wide, it comes back before your heart stops. LOL That is why I call it the "Insurance Ball." First out of my bag, too. I have at least 100 games on it and it still works like it did when new. Take care of it and it will deliver! Low price doesn't mean low score. This ball should be near perfect for most decent bowling centers. I have used it on short and long patterns with much satisfaction. My son also throws a Slash(14#) in the youth league. His comments are included in this review. Put it away in dry / light oil, though. (In the pictures, this ball looks black in color. It is really dark blue.)

I started bowling in 2004. The "Slash" is the 3rd ball i bought. The ball goes long and hook straight and strong! It hits the pins like a tank. The coverstock is very consistent. I bowled more than 60 games with it and it still looking like a new one! For me as a beginner, it is very easy to controll this ball. There is enough room for making mistakes. The colour is great, too! I bought the "Slash", because i want a mid price option for medium-heavy oil conditions. What i got is the best ball i ever bowled with! Greetings from Germany! Bought a #14 due to to arthiritis from my driller who is a track staff member. Same core as the Crunchtime i had in #15 which I loved. He said it was like the triton elites without the mica. Drilled 4X3 with pin under ring finger. I get a great midlane read with great backend on THS playing 18 at the arrows to 7 at the breakpoint. Also squared up on the heavy house shot played 8 at the arrows out to 4. Should have bought another and drilled it weaker or the same just polished to 2000-3000 grit. Definitly a favorite Track ball.

This is a compete ball which may use to compare Brunswick Zone series(so far Impact Zone or Strike Zone). The classic suggar stick core allows this ball moves smooth with strong & continuously back-end sweep power.Beware that the im-complete throw/release is OK for it.The Slash will do support when you miss shot. For drill patterns,I put the CG down of my hand CG position exactly.Pin between ring finger & middle finger. When I throw it longer,it goes longer...When I thorw it smoothly,it moves predictable. Well...you don't need a higher price tag ball for poor hitting feels.Stop for Zone again, the Slash is coming... New generation need new weapons. The Slash will make you toward better score,I believed...

The Track Slash would be a great benchmark ball in anyone's bowling arsenal. You can easily tell, after rolling only a few shots, if you should use this ball. If it was fairly dry, the Slash would roll out, like most sanded balls. If it was too oily, the Slash would have a later reaction and not get as good carry. This is what you should expect from a benchmark ball and the Slash has these qualities. I like it the best on a fresh house shot. I'd prefer not to use it on heavy carrydown but the Slash could still make its move. This solid reactive has a nice smooth move toward the pocket and has a superb hit. It gets good carry as well on a fresh shot. The Slash gets average backend, that would be expected from a sanded ball. Although I have not tried it on a sport shot, I imagine that it would be great on it due to its very smooth reaction. Overall if you want a solid benchmark ball instead of a pearl, then the Slash is the best choice.

I bowl in a wood house with cooked heads. 38 Ft Pattern with a buff to 42-ft. Ball speed 18-19 mph. Med. revs. The pin is 0-1. Drilled it with the pin under my ring finger with a 1’ kick to the right of the thumb. Ball needs a little bit of oil if left at box surface. Gives me the same read as the Original Elite. A good choice for someone looking for a reasonably priced benchmark ball. Great bang for the buck. Great midlane read, excellent cornering ability. This ball has my favorite weight block of all time. The proven elite core. I drilled mine like all the other balls Track has made with this weight block. I put the pin under my ring finger cg 1 1/2 inches to the right x hole 1 inch past my PAP, I left it at box finish. This ball reads the midlane well while still having pop on the backend. Combining my drilling pattern with this ball makes it the perfect benchmark ball for a variety of conditions from house shots to PBA patterns. It is one ball every bowler should have, from league bowler to tournament bowler. -------------------- John Walther III Track International PBA Eastern Region Staff Member

I think that if you are looking for a a ball that you can use in a couple of different houses and one that you can change the cover on than this is the ball you need to get. I think that when the boys at the plant decided to bring this ball out they made a great decision. I have drilled this ball for many different customers and all of them throw the ball different but they all say the same thing after they throw it. this ball rolls great. It usally takes me awhile of throwing a ball before I determine if i like it or not but it only took about a week of throwing this one before I figured how good this ball is.

This is by far Track's most versitle ball. I drilled mine with the pin below the bridge, and the cg kicked right an inch and a half. Out of the box, it was a strong ball, with good mid lane roll, and still had backend. I polished it, and was able to get great length with a smooth backend. This ball accomodates a lot of different lane conditions, depending on the surface. Not many balls can be sanded or shined and used on almost any condition, but this is one that will fit almost any style, and almost any lane conditon.

The Slash is in my opinion the most versatile ball in Track's line-up. I have three Slash's to review. Ball #1 - Pin is 4". I drilled this ball 5x3 pin above the fingers with a hole 1" from the axis. Polished with clean-n-polish. This is the ball that I use most often. The polish allows me to get the ball through the heads with ease and this ball has great recovery. This ball eats up your typical house shot. Ball #2 - Pin 2 1/2". This ball was drilled 4x3 with the pin under ring finger hole also 1" from axis. I keep this ball with more surface to read the lane sooner. This ball picks up a roll about 4'-5' sooner than ball #1 and is used mostly in tournaments. Ball #3 - Pin 2". This ball is drilled with the pin under middle finger and the cg in the center of my grip. This ball has very tight flares and not allot of change in direction. I use this when the lanes get tougher. I don't think anyone could go wrong adding a Slash to your arsenal. Surface adjustments are very easy

I drilled my Slash 5.5 x 3 with the pin over the fingers and the balance hole on my axis (shiny surface) - I drilled this ball to go long and have a strong arc and I am not disappointed. This ball goes long and arcs hard to the pocket with great hit. What I like about this ball is the cover is VERY versatile. It can be easily shined and brought back to surface with a quick trip to the spinner. The Core also makes this ball very easy to get the desired reaction you are looking for. So far this ball reminds me a lot of a V2 sanded with better hit. A great ball at a great price. Blaine Weninger TRACK PBA Regional Staff

Weight: 15 1/2lbs Top: 3oz Pin: 2.5 Drill: pin under ring followed with cg, wanted a drill that gave me the same flare potential of a stack drill with less length. Lane Condition: Heavy oil on syntheds Bowler: Right handed tweener, med high revs, speed is questionable So I seen this ball thrown by Ameleto Monacelli, which I know I've spelled his name wrong so I am sorry for that, when the tour was in town. The pattern was short and he has a good number of revs so I wasn't too impressed, but what did impress me was that fact that this ball would ride the half board and still make the trip. This is what confirmed the fact that this would most definitely buy this ball a spot in my bag. With this ball I have only about 10 games on it and let me say this ball is truly a sleeper ball. The ball just does what needs to be done, all you have to do is lay it down and give it some turn. I started off walking 27 and letting it go at 24, which at this house is flooded, the ball did jack

VERY smooth predictable ball. The Slash brings back great memories of the Triton Elite----with a newer stronger coverstock. It reads the lanes early but does not overreact off of the dry. I like to use this ball just to see what the lane is doing. The Slash is a ball that any bowler could add to his/her arsenal. It is one of those balls that you apply your favorite drill on and watch it work. The public has been screaming for an Elite re-release for the last couple of years, and here it is. I find that with the Freakazoid and the CrunchTime, and the Slash a bowler will have something for most of the conditions they will face during league.

Layout: pin 4.5" from PAP over ring finger, c.g. near grip center with no extra hole This has got to be one of the most predictable balls I have ever thrown. I can use it on an extremely walled house shot without have the ball over-react to the dry outside boards - a huge plus for high-rev bowlers. I have played outside 2nd arrow on heavier oil patterns and it rolls up smooth with tons of energy. I have played inside 4th arrow and this ball gives me a great midlane read while saving enough energy to turn on the backend and carry. This is definitely the first ball out of the bag for me.

For specs read my other reviews. this ball is around 5 boards stronger than my X-ception. My Slash is drilled 4x4 (b/c of where the CG was). With a good amount of oil this ball produces and very nice smooth yet strong arc. However if the lanes get to dry for it the break point becomes to angular to control. I like this ball on Sport / Tornement shots more than on house shots b/c it has a very nice arc and can be used all 6 games (college bowling format). is very angular on a house shot w/ the exception of house shots w/ heavy oil wich this ball works great on as well.

Drilled this ball for a semi-cranker - PAP 5 x 0, 370 rev rate, 70 degree axis rotation, 18 mph. Layout is 5 x 5 with the pin over the fingers and the cg in the palm. Polished it with Ultimate Plus. He took it from the shop, threw 4 shadow balls and proceeded to toss and 824 (290, 256, 268) and never had a ball out of the pocket. This is the first of 3 of these that we will drill to replace his old Triton Elites which were stolen. This ball fits his game extremely well since he prefers to use his hand to control the reaction rather than changing balls. 2 nights later he shot 778. Not bad for 6 games (1602)

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite balls and only drilled it up 4 days ago. Ball rolls excellent and does changes perfectly with your hand position and release. I am able to roll the ball in many conditions and many different lines. the ball reacts better than any ball i have ever seen. This was the missing link in my bag due to the fact that most everything i throw goes long and snaps in the back ends. I have found this ball to be a very controlable ball and plays the lane very well. As mentioned before i wish the ball did not kill the shot as fast as it does because my line changes too quickly in a patter that has a lighter amount of oil on it.
