RAD Ingenious in design, the RAD (Radial Accelerating Dual Density Disk) Motion Control Technology generates a differential of .013 between the "Y" and "Z" axis. WEIGHT BLOCK Comprised of lighter materials this weight block works in tandem with its unique shape to enhance the influence of the RAD. REV BLOCK Achieving a lower radius of gyration and optimum entry angle is accomplished by anchoring the rev block to the bottom of the weight block. COVERSTOCK Using 33% less MICA than other pearlized reactive coverstocks, the ACCU-Tread™ Mystic Pearl contains a balanced uniformity which increases overall consistency and unleashes explosive backend energy. X FACTOR The X Factor is the new standard of excellence and its exceptional engineering lends to a multitude of drilling options and reaction characteristics that cater to a bowler's specific needs.

when i first got this ball, i wanted it to be one of the more aggressive balls in my line-up. So my pro-shop dealer drilled the ball up and drilled it to break earlier. This was a HUGE mistake. I threw nine games with this drilling and then took it to a different driller. Now, not exactly knowing how good this guy was at drilling up equipment, i figured that since he shot 889 two days before he probably knew what he was doin. So he drilled the ball to skid and snap, the usual shot that i play. BANG!!!! next day i shot 689, and a few days later shot 713. ball reacts great down the lane and carries anything even close to the pocket. if your looking for a ball for almost any condition, and your looking for something to help your game, this ball is it. i had lost faith in storm after purchasing two of their bowling balls before, but now i know that they have quality products. good job on this ball storm.

Great overall ball. Color combination is enough and the smell of chocolate is different. Only thing is that it has a tendency to leave this smell in the bag, house and car. Not a big deal. Ball is execeptional. Reaction is exceptional with a lot of hitting power. Coming off of shoulder surgery (rotator). Doctor reccomended that I reduce the weight of my equipment. This is my first try with 15 pound bowling equipment. Games of 226, 290 and 257....773 series. Ball is layed out with a 1:00 o'clock pin. 31/2 inches from the c g with a 30 degree twist. The Rad is 2 inches to the right of the thumb hole. Used straight out of the box without additional polish or sanding. Ball goes through the front really well. Picks up a little in the mid lane and reacts strongly at the back of the lane. Like a Trauma on steriods. Would reccomend this ball to others. Probably better for players like myself who can be rotationally challenged. kb

This is a really good ball. I was surprised with it when I played the first time yesterday. I played 2 games last nite after we drill it and the lane was less than medium oiled or stg like lightly oiled. The ball was still good on that conditions and I was amazed with the pin actions. Strikes were easy comin. I was a bit disappointed with the rev, as I thought it would rev more than my others balls But I'll recheck after coz I think the ball need to be played on good medium oil cond. Anyway an excellent ball and happy with this first storm I got, they really made a good job on this one.

LAYOUT: Started with a 16lb 2oz; 2.90 Top Pin is @ 12 under the fingers w/ the RAD under the thumb. Straight up in plain english! This is the piece the Storm throwers have been waiting for since the Fire Storm of 1995. It's the return of the big pearl! This ball just needs some oil to guide it to the break point window. The only thing you need to do as a player is not help the ball, because if you do it will result in the shape of OVER/UNDER! Let the ball do it's job please. In short this ball tells you where the oil ends and backends begins. I have used this ball on a 44 foot sport pattern as well as a 34 foot house shot. The ball adapts well to the playing field, oh yeah, this ball HITS!

Test ball: 15 lb., pin 2-1/4", 2-1/2 oz. Top wt. - Modified "pin-down" layout: Pin 1/4" above midline and 3/4" right of center line; cg at 30 degrees down from midline, extra hole on line with grip center and CG, on vertical axis line. After extra hole, ball is approx. 1/4 oz. Thumb, 1/2 oz. Positive side. Smooth- and even-rolling, moderate-reaction drilling; drilled as a 'go-to' ball, for use when things begin to break down on a house shot and particles begin to move too much. So far, the ball has done exactly what it was laid out to do: It rolls very evenly and somewhat early, after it clears the heads, and its reaction is a mellow 'hook-set' kind of reaction, sort of like an original Danger Zone on a high dose of Prozac. VERY predictable and controllable, and usable until the lanes get so fried that the next step is urethane. With this layout, and in my aged and rotationally-challenged hand, it is NOT strong enough to start a league on fresh oil; it doesn't have the back-end or r

On the absolute perfect condition this ball may be good. When the ball made the proper transition it did hit well, but I found it nearly impossible to find that condition. I used the piece on a flat condition, a reverse block, and a house shot. I shot 770 on a league house shot, but on that type of condition most anything would work. The ball was way to sensitive when it hit the dry boards, and way to unresponsive on the oil. This ball had a simple over the label drill and reacted like a windshield wiper in a heavy downpour(left-right-left-right).

The ball is not designed for every lane condition. You will have to drill the ball for the specific lanes. If you need it to hook early you can. If you need it to go long no problem. If you need it to skid then snap you can. The ball can do the job. I have this ball and there are some nights you leave it in the bag. However when the lanes are for the ball watch out. The ball will hit very good sometimes to good and you'll leave the dreaded 8 or 9 pin. Best part about that it's close to the middle of the lane for an easy spare. If any one knows the old phart have him send me the specs of the ball, Thank you

Maybe it would be better on synthetic lanes, for me it was good until the oil carried down, then it was impossible to adjust with, The ball looks good and I am a little disappointed after reading all of the other posts and I'm wondering what makes this ball a high performance ball, I have several less expensive balls that are at least as good, if not better, I cant stand it when I have to have just the right drill pattern for a ball to LOOK good, I need 11 more words to fill this post, so here you go.

My ball is drilled with layout #1 from the Storm drilling instructions. The RAD is in position "B". The ball is clean through the heads and makes a smooth turn at the breakpoint. The reaction is very predictable. For me, the ball is oil-sensitive. It goes a tad too long in heavier oil. But for medium to light-oil conditions, this ball is unstoppable. I've had it for three weeks and haven't shot under 700. I'm interested to see how it handles sport conditions and tournament shots. I would recommend this ball to anyone because it's a great all-around addition to your arsenal.
