This ball i have drilled early roll with weight hole in the high flare position. this ball never rolls out and keeps driving. i like this ball for the simple fact that it keeps pins low and flying. this ball can also be flattened out but dont expect it to go perfectly straight. i would definitely say this ball was more meant for a low rev player though. many of the high rev players seem to have trouble making it hook like it should. so maybe you should check with youre pro shop before diving into this one but if you do get it youll prob love it.

When I bought this ball it was factory finish and drilled pin 4 1/2" from PAP, RAD in the strong position (between PAL and track) this is layout #2 on storms drill sheet. The first night I threw it I was expecting to see massive uncontrollable hook. What I saw was nothing. The ball skidded all the way down the lane and never made the turn. I was extremely upset. I gave it back to my pro shop guy and explained that this ball was junk. He weighed the ball, took some finger weight out, and sanded from 800 to 600. WOW, what a difference now I'm getting the reaction I'm looking for. On the second night with this ball I got my first 700 (722). Now I really love this ball.

Don't let what someone else says about a particular ball over influence your decision about what ball to purchase. Too many people go out and buy balls that are not suited to their game and then come on these forums and slam the balls like it's the ball's fault. I have never seen a ball throw itself in the ditch or pull it self and pick off the seven. The Fear Factor is a hooking monster out of the box. My pin is under the right finger and the ball rolls with a strong arc to the pocket. I can play the ball down 5 and it makes a nice strong move to the pocket and dosen't roll out. It will not perform well on dry lanes with fried heads because the ball will roll out and over react to the condition. If you're a power stroker and are looking for a hooking ball then this is the one and it hits very hard.

this ball moves on any kind of lane, it will move with any amount of oil out there. it hits like a "truck", and when you find your mark, your opponent has had it, because you will strike every time it hits so hard I leave alot of "stone" 8,9,and 10 pins but if you are good at spares, you dont have anything to worry about again this ball moves on any kind of lane, it will move with any amount of oil out there. it hits like a "truck", and when you find your mark, your opponent has had it, because you will strike every time it hits so hard I leave alot of "stone" 8,9,and 10 pins, but if you are good at spares, you dont have anything to worry about

This ball could be an oil ball for someone else, but it just isnt for me. i have had better luck with a savage flip that is pearlized and half the price. This ball just didnt get the reaction that i thought it would. I heard so many people braging it up and when i first got it and threw it i thought to myself what in the heck is so special about it. it is a decent ball to have in your bag because on medium oil it will move and be effective, but i purchased it for oil. im gonna try a killer instick now. i will post that review asap.

Great ball for crankers, multiple lines for throwing, and revs up quick and easy. Doesn’t hook as much as it says it does in heavy oil. With 30+ revs and strong drill could have more lane action. I’m fourteen and average two-hundred in three leagues. I like the feel of matt finished balls so you think I would like this. Well I do, I love it, and it’s my favorite ball. The only thing is, is that it doesn’t hook near as much as they say it is. I put 30+ revs on this ball and it doesn’t hook for crap in heavy oil and not really that much in medium-heavy. And the thing is I really take care of my balls. I clean them every 3 to 6 games and even have the box finish put back on my ball after every 50 games. The ball might work out better for you but I still love it. Hope you enjoy feed back.

First off to get this ball to hook on any oil it had to be scotch brited red this left the particle sharp and bit the lane well While the ball hit with great force the track glossed in only a couple of games and the ball died this was not unique to my own ball Instead it was every one we sold complaints were higher than on any single ball we have ever sold. the ball fails on the Sport condition where is hooked less than snuffy we then tried revivint the ball it leaked oil but not a lot cut it on the Haas and went through ever surface combination no matter what finish we tried polishe dull really dull sand paper you name it. the complaint was the same in the rare event you had good reaction it simply went away. This could be the biggest disapointment I have ever had in a ball. If this is a real leading edge ball I beg storm to step back to the original X Factor and invistigate where the lost their way maybe they are simply trying to release to many balls instead of releasing a winne

i drill this one stacked ( pin by the ring finger and cg under the pin. 3" pin.) the ball held the line good. this one hits the pin like a truck. since i got this ball when it first came out my avg. has gone from 204 to 219. this ball hits hard and i missed left a little the ball still found its way back to the hole. i don't leave a lot of 10 pins with this one. like some other balls. with this drill on the ball i didn't have to switch balls when the lanes broke down i just moved left. so in my eyes i think it will be good for any condition you see.

Okay, first of all, I am an avid Storm bowling ball user. I've loved all their balls (particularly Boost and HRG) for their exceptional hitting power, carry, and consistency. However, this time, I was surprised with the Fear Factor. Out of the box, the ball rolled early as expected, but there just wasn't that big BOOM when it hit the pins. This was very surprising. As a result, I left a TON of 7 pins (I'm a leftie). The ball just seemed to be "dead" before impact. I tried polishing it a bit, to reduce surface and roll, however the 7 pin-syndrome was still there. Very weird for a Storm ball. On the positive side, the ball hooks a ton, which makes it great for oil. The ball is versatile, whether it be sanded or polished. When it hits the pins as a "mixer", it almost always carries. Overall, I was dissatisfied with this ball. I will still use Storm balls in the future, but I hope the 7-pin syndrome will be cured by Storm. Maybe the Triple X Factor, with its renewed MONSO

This ball has given me more trouble than I know what to do with. It has never hooked enough for so called heavy oils conditions of "flood". After I resurfaced it a few times and used some simple green on it, its reaction had come back significantly, but this time I decided to polish it. Well, I actually did get a good, heavy roll, for medium heavy oil, with a somewhat late flip to it. This ball has always hit hard, and it still does, though it does seem to like to leave frusterating nine pins on some patterns. But now the need for a flood condition ball is unessacery, becuase my thing lives should cover than now. One thing to note is that this ball has the same drill as my Phase, Trauma ER and Eraser, so I really don't think that is the problem, just becuase those balls hook plenty as it is. Now for the ratings Hook: 60/100 (The best so far) Backend: 40/100 (Not a real backend ball) Length: 70/100 (Get some length)

This ball is like a V2 particle on steroids ; wants to grab a bit thru the heads and flips nicely at the back end . I dulled it SLIGHTLY with Ebonite QuickSand to make it arc a little more and it helped a lot with 10 pin carry Doesn't seem to track up as much as the Ebonite I replaced , but we'll see. This is my first Storm ball and I can see why folks like 'em so much I hope this ball lasts longer than my V2 did , for the money they ask it damned well should. Took me about 5 games to figure opt why i was leaving 10 pins , once i gave it a foot or so of loft, the 6 pin got back to work

Just what I needed for a flood, my Deuce just wasn't enough sometimes in box or polished condition. The FF gets into a heavy roll and stays that way all the way through the pins. This ball takes a shine very well. I expiremented with the coverstock(light polish, heavy polish, box, 320 grit). I finally settled on box with Doc's Magic Elixir applied to the finish. I think this ball is somewhat versatile no matter what others are saying. I have only used this ball on synthetics, not sure what it would do on wood lanes. Another Excellent ball from STORM!

It is a good ball Hits hard. I still though so far think it is the poorest performing x factor so far. i loved my orginal and deuce but the re-loaded and fear factor could be better. its a bit like the trauma line this ball is like the response. a dull ball turns when it wants to then sometimes dosent at all tracks up easy. i still think it is good ball wen it is poilshed and is great on wood lanes stick to deuce and orginal x factor on wood. i like this ball alot but sometimes it can be horible alot like response

I bought this ball for a challenging lane condition: 60 feet of medium oil with no discernable backend. My Tuesday league does not take care of their lanes as I would like, and the oil pattern is long, long and long with no backend reaction (I like to say the lanes are sprayed with cooking spray....). I needed an early rolling ball with big differential that could grab and give me some angle at the pocket. PRESTO! The Fear Factor did the trick, and while others were leaving wash-outs like mad, I was striking. Use this ball on dry and you will invariably roll out. Good Job Storm

This ball rolled like a flat tire. It wobbled, loped, never recovered, and hit like a spit wad. The smell of the ball is almost as nausiating as the relentless amount of weak ten and seven pins that it will leave. For Storm this was one hell of a big swing and miss. The kind of miss a .225 power hitter has when the 3 foot breaking ball is staring at him on anticipation of a fastball. If you don't get the picture now buy one of these and you will see for yourself. This ball is not as advertised. It is a lemon - should have been yellow and smelled like pledge.

Fabulous! Storm has made another great product. Hooks early and keeps coming, smoothly, through the pocket. Takes out the corners very nicely. Did not have a 10 pin until the 5th game with this ball! I tried the Fear Factor on a shorter oil condition and it just to much ball for the condition. I think the fragrance is a bit much and it didn't smell like Plum to me. I did not have to make any changes to this ball out of the box. I would highly recommend this ball to anyone that is a having some trouble getting out the corners on long and heavy oil conditions. The ball does not seem to mind carry down.

Great ball. Fits right between my Phenom, and Phenom Unleashed. It is not as long as the unleashed, and not as early as the Phenom. The HIT is great, not quite what the Phenom Unleashed is, but close. The best thing about this ball is the controll you get for a ball that covers this many boards. Without a doubt Storm's biggest hooking ball. The Trauma Response held this title for a long time, but this ball covers more boards, and hits harder. Without a doubt the best ball in the RAD(xfactor series). More hook, more hit, more controll. There is not much else you can ask for out of ball. I love the Phenom, and Phenom Unleashed, but this ball is as close as any ball I have thrown to how much I like those other 2.

LIKES : very smooth, easy in transistion to pocket.. due to layout ( 2.5 in pin... under ring finger w/ RAD about 2.5 in right of thumb) ball has a very good arching motion that does not stop. Very responsive to differnent hand postions. and very easy to maintain cover. Keep in mind the ball has only 5 games on it so far. There will be a later up date. DISLIKES : ball hates fried heads! IF U RATE THIS BALL ON A BAD NOTE BECAUSE IT DOSENT WORK ON DRY LANES THEN U HAVE NO BUSINESS BOWLING. U PEOPLE NEED TO LEARN WHAT BALLS ARE FOR WHAT CONDITION. JUST BECAUSE ITS NEW AND U THINK U CAN AFFORD IT DOES NOT MAKE IT RIGHT FOR U TO BUY! PLEASE STOP TELLING BAD THINGS TO OTHERS JUST BECAUSE U DONT KNOW WHAT U ARE DOING.

I recommend this ball to bowlers with med-speed, med/high rev rates. Even, forgiving, smooth ball. First time tried, played outside 9 board and the ball rocketed away, ball speed- 16.45 +/- area on lane 9-8-7 boards. This ball deffenately likes oil, moved taret board/area in 5 and presto! smooth shot from release to pocket entry point, carryed pins as well. I highly recommend you do not play this ball in low oil area, ball tends to over-react, causing unpredictable results. I gave this ball a 8, and I feel it is a ball evey bowler should have in his/her arsenal. Put the fear back into bowling, get a "FEAR FACTOR"

Test ball: 15 lbs., pin 3-5/16", drilled leverage/axis: Pin 3-3/8" from PAP, CG on PAP, X-hole on PAP—net 7/8 oz. positive side, ½ oz. finger. Bowler: RH, medium speed, 'rotationally-challenged'. Reports stated that this was a STRONG ball; therefore, for control, and because the pin distance was almost perfect for it, drilled it leverage/axis. Expected some length and a smooth, arcing finish down-lane. I got the length- but I did NOT get an arc. Nossirree. The ball has great length, and it will even scoot through the heads when they're starting to get fried; but it is ANYTHING but arc-y. In fact, the ball's back-end, despite the drilling layout and its particle coverstock, is more like a resin ball than anything else—it's the 'snappiest' particle ball I've ever thrown. PLENTY of strength to turn the corner SHARPLY, even playing very deep inside, and it saves up lots and lots of energy for the pins- it hits VERY hard. The sharpness of the break was a real (and pleasant) surprise; a

I think that this ball is absolutely amazing. I have been bowling with mine for about a month now and it has raised my average about twenty pins. I bought the ball, my pro shop guy drilled it, and then I walked straight out to the lanes and bowled a 236,234,225. Since then I bowled only in the 200's with it. Last night I went and bowled as a sub on a scratch men's league in Evansville Indiana. Five of the bowlers on this league are all city. The first game I shot a 246 then a 205 and 214. These scores might have got me a permanent spot on the team that I bowled with. This ball is great<

Ball performs great untill sanded. I had ball sanded and now i have to use allmost all the force i can controll to get a nice rev on the ball. I like 20 to 75 revs i can only get this ball about 25. The ball has a Nice hook and rotation. I sugest you never get the ball sanded though. Polished maybe but box is the best for this ball. Storm i do like the smell of this ball though. Not to strong but not ot light and has a nice little smell of plum. I like to throw this ball through mid-lane, let it go to right on about the 3 to 10 board depending on the lane. Then i like the ball do the rest of the work.

I got this ball to use on real heavy oil lanes when my x factor, xfactor duece, or power charge wasn't enough. This ball was more effective than expected. I rolled a 187,203, and a 229 with this ball on my first try with it. That is good considering that I am 14 years old! This ball kills the pins with its new coverstock. This ball has nothing but pure power and velocity. I cant wait for the next x factor ball. For now the fear factor is quite the ball to use with my arsenal. Now I have everything except for a ball to use on dry lanes. If anyone has any info on a good ball for dry lanes (except for the spirit bacause it doesn't cooperate with me) let me know.

Just wanted to drop a quick note about my Fear Factor. 16lbs, 3.0-3.5 inch pin drilled up with pin just below and right of fingers, RAD kicked out to the right, Storm's #6 on the drill sheet. It’s drilled to have medium length with strong continuous backend. Ball moves exactly as it is supposed to. I can't wait to use it tomorrow at the season's first spot shot tournament. This house likes to lay it heavy and long. Just what the Fear Factor ordered up!!! This ball has an excellent mid lane read and very controllable break point. This should be an awesome ball. I bought to replace my Trauma Response. This will be the first ball out of the bag on med-heavy to heavy oil tournament conditions. Update: Ball has a nice controllable midlane turn. Very continous back end. Have to watch your speed though because it tends to leave some 9's when you are a tad high. otherwise a nice ball. I still like the response better when it has a fresh cover that hasn't died. So far no sig

Well the new ball was released and I had to get my hands on one. The great news was it came to the shop with almost the same top weight and pin locations as my other storm balls (x-factor, Deuce and re-loaded). So I had this ball drilled the same to use only the shell as my only difference. So far this has worked out great with the first three. This time the shell and the weight block is different. But to my surprise this ball is a great compliment to my bag. This ball will hook and there is no stopping it. Un-like the X-factor (which by the way is still my favorite) some times it just can not turn the corner. But the Fear Factor will not only turn the corner it will remove any and all things in it's way. If you have liked the first three or think that none of these balls hook get this one and find oil. 3 Days later, I thought I would polish this up just to see the reaction. WOW----That's what I was looking for. The ball did not loose any thing on the back ends in fact I think it now h
