Storm Fear Factor Bowling Ball

When it's oily, throw this ball straight up between the five and ten boards and your strike will be awesome! The Fear Factor drives to the pocket and smashes everything while creating terrific pin action. Messengers abound but are rarely needed. Careful though, this ball revs up so much that a miss slightly inside will drive into the head pin often leaving ugly splits. Misses outside are usually not as ugly, but will leave at least the seven pin. You'll love the Fear Factor if you're accurate and consistent, but will struggle a bit if you aren't. Rapidly becoming my go to ball for oily conditions, though still plays second to my Reaction Arc for the time being as the Arc is so forgiving. 2/10/07 - The Fear Factor just became my number one heavy oil ball. This ball is not for the inexperienced. I am not the first to own this ball, and am eager to get rid of it. This ball is for specific lane conditions, just over medium, not heavy. It moves like my Big Hit on heavy oil. It is a good ball, but it needs a specific shot to perform correctly. If you can't read the lanes well, don't pick up this ball, you need to know what you are doing if you want a deep pocket shot. It is predictable enough to hit the pocket every time, but the proper angle is difficult if you want any pin action. Good ball, just not great.

this ball is great for heavy oil and medium, i havent bowled with it on dry, but i am sure that would be a bad idea, this ball is real good and hits hard, then thumb hole on this one actually fits so that is a plus, and i bowled real good with this ball, i just have the pin at 2 o'clock, and then the cg in the slightly above the center of grip with a bit of side weight and the rad to the left of the thumb, and i dont really have much to say about this ball yet, so i will probably post a review again later

I've had this ball for a year + a few months now. When I bought the ball our house had wooden lanes. I could not get this ball to live up to the hype of being a monster in oil. I hardly used it at all. Then, a few months ago they redid our house with synthetic lanes and this ball "reacts" much better. Since they put in the synthetics I've pretty much use the ball every week. By the third game the backends are usually too dry for this ball (though it gets through the heads nicely). I bowl on 3 leagues, 2 of them are first shift leagues, and another one on the second shift. The shots are flooded on the first league, I think 39 feet long. Throw 15 to 5, no problem. and the second shift league are usually pretty dry. But I am still able to use Fear Factor on that shot by moving in and play an inside 4th arrow to 7 or 5 at the breakpoint. All this is based on when I hit my mark and throw everything correctly. The ball does what it's supposed to do, expect that mine has some polish on it, so I am able to use it on most condition. Never bowl on Sport shot with this one, so I don't know how it rolls. But threw it on afternoon shots a few times, very dry... and ball kinda rolled out. So I'll say that it's one very versatile ball. Can use it on pretty much any shots, but nothing extreme. Never threw it out of the box, but I think it will be able to handle the extreme wet shot. Got it for 40$ plugged from Chris with Buddiesproshop.. Thanks Chris

Stand left, throw out...its like a boomerang...shes comes back All I can say after my experience is...Just send her out and watch her come back...if you got her goin good, ur opponent should FEAR THIS!! She hits well...I have a feeling Ill be taken a long way with this ball...if you dont have one...then GET ONE!! It will be one of the best investments you will ever ever ever make...really... You will not regret it...not over aggressive and certainly not under aggressive.... Likes oil, not tried on dryer lanes yet...oh and it snaps....like right angles (well nearly...) its very very awesome, and I am so glad I got it.

I have thrown this ball a 1000 times. Still does what I want it to. Reads the lane great!! First ball out of my bag. I am looking at another one. I have 5 different balls but there’s only 1 FEAR FACTOR. Try this ball out. YOU won't be sorry. GREAT PIN ACTION. I bowl on 3 teams and I only use 2 balls PLEASE let me know who else likes this ball. This ball is good for anyone who wants a solid oil ball. It hits so hard its storms weapon of mass bias maybe better. this ball is very consistant. One thing that is very strange about this ball is that if you come high in the pocket it leaves 8 pins but it carries like a champ everywhere else. It is ugly but if its any consilation it smells better than every storm ball ive ever smelled except the triple extreme. It dosent smell like plums it smells like vanilla. Another great thing about this ball is that it dosent burn out no matter how light the oils i cant open up thge lane on 25 foot paterns and it will hook in instead of dieing and rolling in this ball has some strange characteristics but it is still another great ball by storm.<scrip

Only can use when conditions are right. Not good when you need a contolled shot. Not a versatile ball in my opinion. My first disapointment from storm. I really think it would be a better ball for a cranker that throws down and in really fast but i wouldnt truly know. Also might be good for a starter on synthetic lanes since it can be topspined and hook as little or as much as you want. But its just my opinion. I wouldnt reccomend this ball to anyone since theres a lot better stuff out there and i mean a lot better.

Fear to Fear the Fear FactorGreat Storm Product. Easy to handle. Can be played from 10-20 board with consistent pin action. Very forgiving ball on Medium/Dry lanes, but challenging on oily lane conditions. If you are near pocket will demolish pins. Leaves very few ten pins. Tens comes around, only 1-2 board adjustment is needed. Ball did work well for some local tournaments, however the X-Factor was a better ball at the ABC04 tourney in Reno. If lanes are oily, ball must be treated to smaller area of the lane. Don't care for the smell. Good ball to have in any Storm bowler's arsenal. Fear to Fear the Fear Factor

What else can I say. Shot 802 across three different pair. The ball is absolutely the best available. I don't care for the pin position on this one, but it still scores!!!! This ball has pin 1 " out. This ball is not as aggressive as it could be because of the pin position, but it obviously still scores. What else can you ask for out of a bowling ball. The ball is aggressive, yet predictable. This allows you to make quicker adjustments, because you know what the ball is doing at all times. I think that a monkey could probably score well with this ball. The season here is about to begin, we will see how it does this year.

This is a follow-Up post to my original back on 1/14/04. I am proud to say that this ball has kept its "Hookablilty" even after almost a year of use(the ball was purchased 10/14/03). The ball just needs to be taken care of, proper cleaning, when to clean, how to clean, etc....personally I use "Ultimate Bowling's Ultra Bowling Ball Cleaner and Doc's Magic Elixir and and occasional go-round on my personal ball spinner. I feel sorry for the people that bash a product when they probably don't even know how to use it or when not to use it. Yes, this ball may be condition specific so use it for those conditions when they arise and I will assure you this ball will not disappoint.

As said the fear factor is great on oil, it really lets you play anywhere on the lane and it will always roll up early and get the right reaction on the lane if there is some oil of corse. This ball is a great addition to my line up and really lets me know what the lanes are doing. I have watched many bowlers use this great ball by storm and not one regret's buying it. This ball works really well and I recommend it to any one who can’t quite get the right reaction in oil. Well done storm. <s

Ok, for the guy who said crankers shouldnt use this ball, your wrong buddy. ANYONE can use this. Im a cranker, and i can tell you, with the amount of revs and hook i normally get, this is my best ball (besides my X-Factor) and it hits so bloody hard, that the 9 pin i usually leave begs to be knocked down. The more I use this ball, the better it seems to react. Just make sure you keep it clean, otherwise it does tend to differ when it reacts. Other than that, there is nothing wrong with it, and i recommend it to anyone who averages 195+

Well i have had this ball for almost two years and it sill works great. The only thing that has happen to it is that it has lost some of it hook but this is kinda a good thing in my case. When i first got the ball it hooked like crazy, almost to much for my skill level at the time. Over time the ball hooks much less so i'm much more consitant and so is the ball. Now i am a much better bowler and i go from bowling ally to bowling ally all over my region. The more bowling ally's i go to the more i learn about this ball. I have learned this ball is not great for to many differnt kinds of lane conditions. Thats why i have 4 balls with me all the time. If you are a house bowler i recomend the ball very much because you can polish or sand your ball to your prefence that matches your lanes. For Tournment players the ball is still good but there are some other products that might work better. Just to give you an idea i throw about 15+ mph and put massive amounts of revs on my ba

I purchased my Fear Factor at a Pro Am Tour I rolled in the past spring. I was told by another Pro-Shop owner to have it drilled to roll out mid lane. I had it done and it was the best recommendation ever. The first game right out of the box on was a 279. I've used it in my house lanes and have rolled a 664 and 725 scratch. It packs a punch and hits extremely hard. It seems to know when you mess up and don't hit your mark but still allows you to get a strike or good hit.

I bought this ball a few months ago and have rarely used it. The only lanes I found it works on are lanes that have oily front ends and dry back ends. On a regular house shot it turns a little and then dies. I talked to three pro shops in my area looking for help and they all said they have had very bad reviews on it and told me to trash it. One said to polish it, but that defeats the purpose I bought it for. I had it drilled aggressive, (#6 on storm's ball drill rec.) pin and CG 41/2" from PAP. I'm going to try redrilling it to go longer and finish harder and see if that helps. I hate giving up on a $250 investment.

I rarely get to use this ball, but when I do use it, it is a machine for me. It's drilled pin to the right and a little below the ring finger with the CG and mass bias in a straight line down. This ball arcs very nice for me and has virtually no skid/snap reaction to it. I can play all areas of the lane with it by changing hand positions. The ball hits hard on flush hits and sends messengers galore on the lighter hits. An overall excellent ball that I wish I could use more often.

what a great ball. it drives hard, hits hard and is very forgiving. if you miss right it will come back. not to good on pulled shots. it will hook from anywhere on the lane. i have over 100 games on this ball and it still hits as hard as it ever did. i clean it after every use. i use it on the condition it was intended to be use on..OILY LANES!!! i very rarely shoot under 220 with this ball. if you want a ball that hooks alot on oily lanes that you don't mind having to take care of (clean) then this is the one for you..

Cleaned the ball just before I hit the lanes... Well oiled lanes.. i think it was the christmas tree pattern (they arent very sure what patterns they put down)... vey hot centre... the ball is drilled on the lower side of agressive.. stood 13.. hit 10.. straight into the pocket everytime... 8 strikes on the trot!!... only missed 9th frame due to i threw it over 12 board :( ... best ever score of 266 .. good stuff :)).. Surpasses the 258 (not sanctioned) and the 246 (sanctioned) that I have managed to do before... Ball takes abit of getting used to but it slams everything if thrown into correct spot!!!

Im a RHB ,Normally stand on 20 and aim at 12, not normally a very agressive bowler. Took this ball onto the lanes after getting it and lets see what happens... stood normally... 7 pin!!! lol.. Ok.. how many boards will i have to move.. After eventually hitting the pocket i looked down.. 39 and 7 had to laugh. Bearing in mind hte lanes were a little dryer than normal (when they are normally soaking in oil)... I can see this ball is going to suit me down to the ground and take pride of place and force my Deuce!! Hard hitting.. poor pins ust have to jump out of the way... WELL DONE STORM AGAIN!!!!

A great ball that can be used to play diffrent angles. I drilled this ball agressive; with the pin a little to the right and below the bridge. The cg is below the pin and kicked out a little further right. Ball finish remains the same as box condition. Heavy hitting ball, have played the second arrow, inside and outside line and found the pocket almost every time. Sometimes, you see a darn 8 or 9 pin when you least expect it (which kept me from giving this ball a 10 score) additional to the usual 7 or 10 pin. Carry might be an issue once in a while, but with proper and correct adjustment you get the strike.

I normally have a lot of trouble with wet lanes but not anymore this ball will always consistently hook back into the pocket exactly when you want it to. Since I have got the ball I have been shooting high 200's on wet and medium wet lanes, easy to control ball, doesn’t like dry lanes. This is the best wet lane ball storm has brought out that I have bowled with, I recommend one to any bowling who wants a wet lane ball. The Fear Factor will come through for you every time. Also has a great fragrance. AWESOME!!!!, that’s the only word to describe the ball!

The Fear Factor hits hard if you can get it to the pocket. I roll cranker and put hi revs on the ball. If this is you.. I strongly recommend looking for another ball. Box/Sanded condition this ball really grips the lane. I was lucky to hit Brooklyn. Seems to loose power and energy at the end. When I did hit the pocket on the rare occasion, the ball hit like a truck. This is probably a good ball for a stroker that puts less revs on the ball. If you are a cranker, polishing it will help some and give you more carry down and a stronger backend. Well, I'll just say I've had the ball 2 weeks and I have already sold it. It is just not a fit for me or probably any other cranker. If you do want this ball and you are a cranker, you better be able to get it down the lane in at least 17 mph which gives the ball less time to turn. I would also suggest polishing it. STORM RULES ALL!!!! This ball ceases to amaze me. I have had problems before with very oily lanes, then I got this ball and I started shooting in the high 200's!! The best part is that if I throw it too tight or too wide, this ball will consistantly hit the pocket with explosive force! The only bad thing is that even though I can hit with great power throwing it tight, I often leave a 10 pin... Also, If I throw it too far out and it comes back into the pocket, I will sometimes leave a 9 pin cause the ball has too much momentum in the left direction, blowing right by the 9 pin. Not really a dislike thought. Also, this ball doesn't die on me. It is still going strong and powerful. If you are looking for a powerful ball with MAJOR hook potential, the Fear Factor is waiting on you...<
