Storm Eraser Boost Bowling Ball

(46 reviews) Write a Review

A new porous Chrome CADMIUM™ coverstock gives a Boost™ when encountering heavier oil conditions. Though factory polished, the Boost™ provides outstanding grip in oil. The CADMIUM™ coverstock is easily adjusted if additional surface is needed on heavier oil patterns. Both the BOOST and BLAZE feature a new particle that is not rubber based like our other particle balls. The Boost also has Fleck in the surface to provide additional grip. A former Storm ball that had this in the coverstock was the El Nino Gold.

This evening was a milestone for me. This STORM ball helped me garner a 752 series, including a 300, my first. As I said in my first review, this ball has the best roll, the best (wicked) backend snap, and the overall best finish in the pocket that I have seen. I have thrown Brunswicks, and Columbia's, and AMF's, and Ebonite's, but nothing compares to STORM. It is very consistent, even if your mark has been missed a couple of boards. It picks up speed in the backend, and dismantles the rack, leaving very, very few ringing 7's (I'm a leftie) if at all. The backend lane transition is all it needs to send this behemoth cascading through the rack. I have only been using it a month, and I haven't gotten less than 650 in league play (twice a week). A very, very good ball from STORM. Having the right equipment along with the right skills will quickly make you a much better bowler. I strongly recommend all you bowlers out there to pick one up for yourselves. You will not be dissappo

Since I've had this ball my average has gone from 197 up to 215!! I've shot a 300 with it, rolling 17 strikes in a row for a 780 series in tournament play. U can use this ball on almost any condition. I only have the Eraser Boost other than my plastic ball, and I have scored highly on every condition I've bowled on with it. It is a superb good ball to have in your arsenal. This ball has such a consistant roll to it and is very forgiving. Best of all it carries the 10 pin!!!

I'd like to thank Storm for making a particle-type ball that actually dosen't hook out of your hand and hits like a spolied tomato on the backend. This ball is awesome! It can be used on oily shots right up the gut, it can be swung on drier shots and still have enough skid/arc to carry out the corners. This is also a great lane-reader. If your struggling on an under/over condition, this one reads the lane like your bowling on a wall! This is a GREAT ball to jam right up the track. This type of ball/ball reaction is essential for my slower-cranker style. If your looking for predictabiltiy, versitiltiy, roll and carry this is it! One of the best balls I have ever had. Just averaged 236 for 10 games in a doubles tourney - we won and I never switched balls! That is a feat in itself for me. Wet-dry to dry shot and the ball amde it look easy. Give this one a try, you will not be disappointed!

This is a great ball and I reccomend it to anyone.I left the coverstock the same and it has wored excellent for me I just hope storm doesnt stop making it. Ever since i got it my average has gone up 15 pins in 2 weeks!!! Everyone that throws my ball says it hooks too much for them but not me. It hits perfect and if I get it in the pocket it usually is a strike. I also pick up alot of splits with this ball and I can even get the ten pin with it. Overall a great ball.

After reading your reviews, I thought I would try it out myself. My local pro also recommended it. Let me say, it is the best ball I have thrown. The consistency, carry, and overall finish it gives is... phenomenal. The backend snap is wicked, yet still very controlled! I already bowled a 753 the second time I used it! My only dislike is the fear that since this is an older ball from Storm, they may not make it anymore. I am tempted to buy a couple more to keep handy once they stop making it, and once my current one is done. If there were more than 10 pins to rate it, I would give it at least 50 more. Try it out for yourself, and you'll know what I mean.

When I first got this ball, I was struggling to keep it on the lane, much less right of the 1-3 pocket. The local pro stopped me and asked why I wasn't using more lane (I was trying to go down the right side and in). Now, I stand around 35, hit at 15, slide it out to bump on 7 and slam into the pocket. Beautiful!!! I'm still getting used to how it runs, but the first game I shot after changing my line was a 223. This ball even destroyed the pocket several times on high hits that would normally leave an ugly split. Great carry. I'd recommend this ball. For dry conditions, a little polishing may be in order.

My specs: tweener, 15-17 mph, average revs, 16lb. equiptment ,205 average. I have my Boost drilled for length with a hard hooking back end. The surface out of the box caused a little too much skid and not enough carry. Hitting the ball with a green scotch brite pad did the trick. A very good performer in med/heavy conditions. I've had my Boost for a couple of months now and the only other thing that even comes close to this ball in terms of hitting power is my El Nino Gold. Heads turn when this thing makes contact with the pocket! However, know when to put it away. This ball does need some oil in the heads. I expect to see my average rise at least 15 pins with this ball in my arsenal. A very good ball from Storm.

First thing was first I made sure every one on my team smelled by ball because as you know it has a very nice smell to it. In practice I threw i ball on each lane and knew I was ready. I threw a 244 the first game. The ball was so great last night that as soon as I got home I went on Ebay and bought his brother the eraser blaze for dry conditions. This is flat out the best mid-priced partcle and urethane ball out on the market right now. Storm in my opinion is the best ball company out right now. I will reccomend this ball to any bowler period. I am that sure that you will not be dissapointed.

Very Very Very good ball for the price. It hits like a freakin asteroid!!!! (I didnt want to say train or truck because that would not begin to describe how this ball enters the pocket.) It has a very forgiving backend. The ball needs some oil. If the conditions break down be prepared to throw the ball very hard to maintain a consistent line. I seriously reccomend this ball to anybody who likes blueberries and/or wants loves to see a clean deck after a throw. So now i have ony 86 words so I will just finish out the statement by saying eeeehhhhyaaaakaboooossshh!!!!!

Box specs 3"-4" Pin 2.82oz TW 15 lbs 2 oz. In this review, I hope to cover the essentials. I feel that in a review, one's style fo bowling should be included. I also think, to be most informative, the reviewer should give his or her opinion on how the ball reacts on the three main conditions, and then rate it on several characteristics a ball should have. The characteristics I think a bowling ball should have are predictability, controllability, hit, hook, and aggressiveness. Also, I think any cover changes should be relayed. My Style Tweener 14-15mph average revs Comfort line with Boost: 20-7 Drilling Pin under ring, cg kicked out. X hole on VAL in thumb quadrant. At first, I thought the ball was going to be a dud. It didn't do what I wanted it to do at all. I wanted it to go long and arc hard on the backend, so it was drilled pin under ring with the CG kicked out, and an X hole on VAL in the thumb quadrant. The ball justskidded through the lane, and didn't make

This ball was a great one!!! Eve though i havent been bowling that long ive notcied that this ball is all around great. It might not have the biggest hook but it definitely hits hard. The ball speed is everything....if you keep it up then you wont have any porblems. But when it gets outside iuts trouble. The thing i like best is how it'll slice through the heads, take the turn and always gain rev's before thye finish, not to mention how it seems to hone in on the pocket and strike it like a whip....POW!!!

My ball is drilled to roll earlier as opposed to skid/snap. I prefer to play more toward the middle of the lane and even so, the ball still finished strong enough to kick out the corner pins. This ball is made for more oil but can be used on a variety of conditions. The house condition I bowl on is pretty easy, so I'm anxious to see what it can do on tougher shots. Storm is one of my preferences for equipment, and I haven't drilled one I haven't liked. I rank this ball ahead of my El Nino Gold but not my El Nino, my first (and I think the best) Storm ball.

I drilled this ball at 4 x 4. When I first let this ball go I was totally shocked to see it take the 4-7-8 off the rack. I have never in my life thrown a ball that moved as much on the back as this ball does. That is also one of the things I dislike about it. When the conditions are right this ball is awesome, but when the back-ends are stronger than normal I have to put it up, or else leave 9's all night long. It can be fun to play really deep and stay light because this ball mixes the pins really well, but if you pull it you will not be forgiven. I give the ball 8 because it is not the most versatile of balls but it is very good on heavy oil.

3rd week of using it and shot 737. Another night like last night and its the PBA West Regional for me. I am expecting the Eraser Blaze, and the regular Eraser to be delivered Friday. LOL not sure I will even drill out yet unless they decide to cut back on the oil. For the money, I know of no other products that have such devastating performance. Now if Storm would produce the matching shirts and towels life would be perfect. Ok ok, that and Salma Hayek giving me a lap dance. Now then life would TRULY be perfect. He He

This is the first particle ball Ive thrown. If it wasnt for a split in the 10th of the first game I wouldve shot 700+. Im just getting back in to bowling after taking a 10 year break, when I left the sport the reactive balls were just coming out. At that time I was a 185/190 avg. After 18 games in league now I am carrying a 213 avg. I think Ive found a new favorite company. Thanks Storm!!!!! I really cant see spending the extra cash for the upper scale Shock Trauma and the other Trauma series balls. I will be purchasing the regular eraser and the eraser blast to round out my arsenal...

nothing to say. Not an easy ball but when the ball is your friend it "melts" the pins.. :-) In the beginning it was difficult to finde the perfect line for me. i was playing an amf ultra c before this ball (very smooth hook) and i played scores between 160 and 260... now after one month of playing the ball is amazing and it has a fine smell (hubba bubba chewing gums) :-) what else to say? to play this ball you MUST have a replayable technique. If you are only throwing down the lane, the ball is too difficult for you.

Was looking for a ball to try out on my new sport league and thought for 80 bucks it might be worth a try. We did a controled layout with the pin in between and above the fingers with cg stacked on my CLG. Left 5/8 finger 1/4 side. Wanted the ball to go long then really move on the backend. I tell ya the ball still hooked alittle to much for my. I was stroking it right along 5 and it would come back very hard. So I moved left about 5 boards swung it out to 5 and it came back beautifully. Im a Power Stroker so I don't like swinging the ball to much so we added some Reacta Shine polish. 2 applications later the ball sailed awsome with a great backend for the sport shot. On a house shot I would defitatly leave it dull bring it out of my first game then would polish it back up for a sport league. Great balll for the money and would recommend this ball mostly for the house shot.

This is an edit of my original review of the Boost. When I first go this ball I was not very impressed with its' performance. However, with each new set that I bowl I am liking this one more and more. For me, the Boost does not handle the really heavy oil and carrydown quite as well as I would have thought. However, that may just be me. I think that this ball is better suited for medium-heavy, or heavy for someone with a ton of hand. However, this ball works beautifully, and is much more versatile then I had originally thought. It seems to work best when you play through the heart of the oil in the center of the lane (usually around 3rd arrow, RH), and let it come ripping back. This ball does a great job of getting through the heads and retaining its' energy for the move to the pocket. This ball makes a hard turn to the hole, and it hits like a ton of bricks! This ball now seems to be making me $ every time that I pull it out of the bag. I cashed in a pro-am a couple of we

Have the ball drilled with storms #1 drilling on the advanced sheet. No weight hole. I usually put a light polish on my equipment when i get them but i left this one in the 1500 sanded box shell. i expecteded the ball to over react on me but to my surprise it didnt. It had a very readable roll and turn to the pocket. im a 191 avg bowler and my first 6 games (in 2 different houses) were 214, 233,199, then 190 191 and 247. ill write a follow up review in a month or so when i get it a little more broken in. this is my first storm purchase and so far it has exeeded my expectations and would purchase another storm product with hesitation
