Storm Eraser Boost Bowling Ball

(46 reviews) Write a Review

A new porous Chrome CADMIUM™ coverstock gives a Boost™ when encountering heavier oil conditions. Though factory polished, the Boost™ provides outstanding grip in oil. The CADMIUM™ coverstock is easily adjusted if additional surface is needed on heavier oil patterns. Both the BOOST and BLAZE feature a new particle that is not rubber based like our other particle balls. The Boost also has Fleck in the surface to provide additional grip. A former Storm ball that had this in the coverstock was the El Nino Gold.

I've had this ball for years and since its purchase I've had countless other balls, all of which are long gone...the Boost still remains in my arsenal. It has an amazing ability to never die, it reacts the same way after 350 games that it did out of the box. Puts other high-priced storm products like the Trauma series to shame. This ball is great on all conditions; it always finds its way back to the pocket. It always seems that the best balls on the market are the balls that don't cost $250.00

I WANTED something that would allow me to play a straighter shot. From my research I thought this ball would be the answer. Found a used one on eBay for $10 + shipping. Got it redrilled with pin over ring finger (5" from PAP) and cg on grip centerline just above midline. To "enhance" the straightness I then grey scotch brited, and polished with 2000 degree polish. Results of my mad experiment: League night on light oil. First ball played 8 to 3, ball slid as predicted, maybe even past my expected breakpoint. All was good up to the point the ball decided to flip. Then it made a sharp right turn (lefty) and hit brooklyn!!! Struggled all night with ball, no adjustment seemed to help tame the snap. Experiment 2: dulled ball with maroon scotch brite to tame the beast. Went to practice and threw a game with it. Ball now has more arcing action. However, it now covers a lot more boards. I think it covers as many boards as my trifecta, which is suppose to be hook monster. S

this is a very good ball i have had it for 3 years and it is still going strong...my average has increased well above 40 pins since i have had this ball...the only downside to this ball is when there is carry down it is hard to shoot down the 3rd arrow, but if you move over a little and throw down the 2nd arrow it works real well, dry lanes are another thing where this ball is so powerful you usuall have to take it inside with the shot.if anyone has one of these balls if you think you can't do anymore with it just tick with it and you will succeed, cuz i have had times where i get frustrated with it but i kept working with it..great ball i never thought particle could be this good

this is a great ball. It has good reaction and great carry. But if you crank it to much it'll be hard to keep on the lane. Also beware of dry lanes with this ball. If it's dry just put it back in the bag. Overall this ball is great for someone that doesn't crank it and throws an even roll. I personally love this ball and i wish they hadn't discontinued it. Storm needs to bring this line of balls back maybe with new coverstocks or maybe some other improvements. Great ball to pick up on ebay for a decent price.

I'm searching for this ball scense long time ago but they was one problem i was searching for a ball than the coverstock is Reactive Pearl because that the kind of Ball i use all time. but now i have it i never be so happy to have it. Now lets talking about the Eraser Boost. The Eraser Boost as combine with Solid Chrome Cadmium particule, the ball has a smooth hook and is good for heavy oil, the fragrance of that ball is Bleuberry. This ball is one of the most aggressif ball on flash line include the new Flash Flood but the Flash Flood as more power on the reaction. I prefer the Eraser Boost. Suggestion! if you want a ball for Heavy oil and don't exagerate so much like the X-Factor Vertigo, The Eraser Boost is the ball your need.

I decided to resurface my eraser boost to see if it could hook again like it did when I first used it. I used Track CleanN'Dull which has around a 1000-1200 grit finish. I thought the boost was sanded to 800 grit out of the box. But it was polished. After dulling the ball I noticed differences and similarities. The differences were that the ball had a smoother arc heading toward the pocket and it did not skid as much in oil as it did before. The ball still tracked up oil like it did before and hooked late. So resurfacing the boost doesn't make it a hook monster, it just makes it more controllable. This is a good ball for bowlers who want to play close near the third arrow on a fresh shot.

i dislike te color of the ball, any picture that you see online or in any shop the ball is a bright blue that mixes into a pinkish purple. but the ball i got is a dull, barley notaciable color that looks dark purple and black, and i dont really like those colors. The ball has a mean hook. i have had this ball for a while now and still wroks like new. when u through it right it almost turns left and kills the pocket. i have had this ball through thick and thin and it has always come through for me. so i give the ball a 9 pin rating.

This is my first particle ball and I am impressed. I've read other reviews about particles and thought it would hook out of your hands. Man I was wrong about this one! It revs up quickly and saves its energy until the end. This ball performs the best on a fresh house shot. Although the ball was suppose to have a strong roll, It really has a sharp turn. It does need a little dry spot to shine. When there is alot more oil it doesn't hook much. This ball is terrible on dry no matter what you do, if you do it will hook way too much. If I try and give it low revs it dosen't rev up much, it needs oil. This is a good medium oil ball for crankers and a medium-heavy oil ball for everybody else. UPDATE I only had this ball for 7 months and now it just died on me. I went to bowl on my usual house shot and now the ball barley moves. It was a good ball for a while but now it just died on me. Here is what I know about particles now, although it is more aggressive than reactive, it

Well, I was practicing at my home center and my coach found a ball on the rack and just gave it to me(Eraser Boost). The thumb and fingers are twice as big as mine. So i took it and went to a scratch league where i was late and i only had 1 practice shot and that was with teh boost. I left a ten pin with it but it rolled really good. So i decided to use it. After putting in about 30 pieces of tape(no lie) i bowled the front 11 with the ball before leaving the 10 pin. It may just be a quinceadent but that was amazing. The ball rolled good. Good backend and even roll.

this ball has been brought back again and i love it, after i my house put down huge amounts of oil and i was forced to throw 12 miles per hour with my reloaded and my duece wasnt working i decided to bring out another ball and yes this was the best thing i ever did. playing between sencond and third and shot 286 the 9 game it was used. just had to realize to let go of the ball or it would hook. it even hooked at the oilest house in here since of course it was just so easy to add extra revs to. there is nothing i cannot do with this ball and all stars starts today and i think i will bowl great using this ball. wow i actually filled the quota talking about the ball

this ball was great and hooked a ton. would come back from any where on the lane. ball has a nasty backend. the ball carries everything. when the lanes break down i could move far inside and the ball would work like a charm. great ball to have in your bag...... until it wears out, and that is very very quickly. just like a all other storm balls,, was great when i got it buit it died quickly and no longer has the snao it did before. i tried refinishing the ball and that didnt do ne thing except make it hook less. smell gets irratating really fast, didnt like it.

This ball is horrible. I could never get a strike with this ball. It would not move in heavy oil and would hook way too much in light oil. There was just nothing I could do to do good with this ball. I then got it sanded and then it performed a little better and definently hooked more, but still was not sufficient. Unlike my blaze, which I could hook a little more and get good pinfall, you would have to hit the pocket perfectly. I just found that you had to hit the pocket absolutely perfectly to get a strike, or anything even close. If left so many ten pins and splits on shots that would be strikes with my other non-lightwieght balls, that you couldn't score higher that 160 on an average basis. Very bad ball...

this ball was great the first few weeks until it just stoped hooking all together.it still hit like a truck though.but the thing i hated about the ball the most was that it wouldnt carry anything ever.it was the worst ball for the money i have ever purchased.i payed 160 but if i could do it all over again i would only pay 135. i would would not recemend this ball to anyone unless they wanted too be ripped off.defenitly not the best ball.but it was a great ball for about 60 games.i did like the smell of blueberries in my bowling bag though and the color.

THIS WOULD NOT BE A BALL ID RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. THIS BY FAR HAS TO BE ONE OF THE WORST STORM BALLS IVE EVER THROWN. THIS BALL WAS VERY INCONSISTENT, NO HITING POWER WHAT SO EVER. TO MAKE MATTERS WORST, I EVEN BROUGHT MY OLD FIRE STORM AND THIS BALL KILLED EVERYTHING IN ITS PATH. NOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SINCE TO YOU? I GUESS THAT WHY HALF THE PEOPLE THAT I KNOW THAT THROW STORM, SAY THE BOOST IS NOT ONE OF THEIR FAVES. BOTTOM LINE NONONONONONONONONONONONON THIS BALL IS A NO NO NO NO. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS ONE!

this ball is great. after i got it resurfaced i thought it was dead, but one day something told me to take the ball out and give it just one more time and since then i have been back to bowling good. its a great ball for when the lanes dry out too much for the duece. hits hard too. sometimes too hard but thats what i paid for it to do. storm has another great ball and of course wont stop making them. just to get to the 100 words mark i will say that storm is the greatest bowling company to help my game and improve it.

I own 8 storm balls, and have yet to find one that I don't like. I can't say that for anyother ball company. Remeber the XS ball. I'm still reeling over that spent money. Storm as been impressive since the Thunder Road, I still on occassion throw that ball and love it. The boost is another quality ball added to the long line of storm success. The ball is incredibly verstaile and go be used for a variety of purposes. Spare ball on heavier conditions, First ball on med and light conditions. And 10 pin blaster on the sport shot. I'm still getting used to the scents in these new storms, but hey I guess it could be worse!!!

I read everything I could on this ball and one of the things that kept jumping out at me was how many people were afraid this one would go away so they bought a few. Guess what.... I will too! I will have another here soon... as soon as I get the sister ball, The Blaze Doesn't hit as hard as my Hammer Vicious but is a whole lot easier to control and, who cares how loud the noise is as long as they go down! :O) Forget how good a value this ball is... I'd put it up against anything offered at any price! Just Buy It! Strikes Will Come!

out of the box this ball hooks like a monster and if it goes into the pocket, it hits like a truck! pins dont stand a chance. a bit hard to control on less oil hooks way too much but not always a bad thing. this ball will do the job if you need to destroy the pins, but if you throw outside or inside, werever there is no oil, it will hook to the opposite gutter. you might have to throw it hard to heep it from overhooking, but on medium - heavy oil, it heads towars the 10 pin (righties) and right before the gutts it snaps right into the pocket. What a sight! great ball so far, after 10 games. PS. it smells good enough to eat, Delicious! :-P<

this is a great ball if there is oil on the lane. shot my first 700 with this ball so of course i would like it. it has its problems though. once the lanes dry out it seem to stop hooking. i never knew bowling balls stopped hooking once the lanes got dry. after i got the ball resurfaced this ball never got its hook back even after i bowled 20 games so i had to stop using it. that really sucked. oh well i reccomend this ball to anyone who is in their second year of bowling and who wants to be a cranker.

I had bought this ball for over a year now but really hasn't had the chance to use it because I was infatuated with my Trauma ER. Needless to say, the ER burnt out and doesn't really hooked anymore so I had to refuge to the Boost. This ball clears the head well with a booming backend. This ball carries the 10 pin well but tends to leave that pesty 9 pin. I regret not trying this ball out sooner! This ball tracks up quick and leaves a question in it's durability. I'm hesitant to using this ball because I don't want such a good thing to wear out!

This is the best ball I have ever used. Since using this ball my average is up 22 pins over 20 games from 173 to 195. The first night I used it I had a 726 series (267, 251, 208) and the second time I took it out of the bag I had my best game ever a 287, 300 going until the 10th when I just through a bad ball cause of nerves. There are 2 other guys that I know that use this same ball who have completely different styles than me and it works equally well for them so I think this a great ball no matter what style you have. The only thing that I can think of about this ball that may give a person problems is that it is a bit speed sensitive but what it lacks in speed foregiveness it makes up for in missing your mark foregiveness.

this ball is nice. good carry when thrown right. alittle wide i will leave the 7 pin. alittle heavy i will leave the 6 pin. my hightest game with it so far is a 268. i have thrown a 683 with it. i am getting use to the extreme right turn it can make if you let it. i'm a lefty. i can't use it on the 7 pin. i can cover every board with this ball, lol. i don't know the drillings and pin placement. i do like it when i'm on my game. the smell was bad when i first got it, but now its calm down a bit. lol. i had to replace my ebonite jauger with this ball after the coverstock separted from the weight block. overall this is a good bal when you throw it right and know how to to throw it. its going to be mostly the bowlers fault if you can't get this ball to hook or make it carry
