In my third game with this ball I rolled my all-time high game. This ball is a great performer on light oil. The power through the pins is astounding. I generally keep it around the first arrown and the ball keeps driving the pins into the pit. With the kind of hook that this ball delivers, you can play plenty of approaches and angles. If you want an arsenal of balls for light through heavy oil, this is definitely a great light oil ball, and it is currently my favorite ball in my aresenal. While this ball is discontinued, you can still find it online and in some pro shops. It is worth finding!

This is a great ball that never really caught on with anybody. There are a few who do throw this ball and love it. I did not give this ball a 10 because Storm rated this ball to be a light oil ball and yet it is still too much ball for me on light oil. I bowl late leagues so I never have a fresh oil shot to shoot on so I bought this ball hoping to help me out on working with what oil was out there. It has helped but I have had to polish the ball and keep it polished at all times to be able to throw it on the lanes. Great ball by Storm just very underrated. It is a tragity that they retired it so soon.

This ball looks good going down the lane, and rolls very well. If you bowl with it on oily lanes it will react bad, and be very inconsistent. It will comeback and hit the pocket, but it will hit horrible. I have a lot more dislikes for this ball than I have likes, but what could expect from a free bowling ball. I guess I got what I paid for, which would be NOTHIIIIIIIIIIIING!!!!! Oh well, if you decide to get this ball make sure you get it for its lane conditions only and not just for another ball to throw like I did. It will be a big mistake. You, know how they say a ball can hit like a ton of bricks. Well, this ball hits like a damn ton of styrofoam. It really is not a good ball, and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone but an idiot.

I needed another path to the pocket having a Groove drilled to travel straight down (despite high RPM's) & then flip over in the last few feet. I was looking for another ball that would give me more flexibility. This was the perfect ball for that. The roll is *so* smooth it looks like someone took a darned protactor to the lane and drew the path of the ball. I have never had a ball roll like this in that sense. On the downside, I've owned the ball for quite some time & can confidentally say that despite the beautiful track, it is a very shot-specific ball. It has had a hard time gathering energy towards the pocket on wet lanes. It has consistantly over-reacted on dry lanes. When the back-ends have been very dry, I have found that the ball over-reacts a bit more than my others. When the shot is right though, this ball will hit and hit hard. It's a thing of beauty to watch. If it can give a high-RPM guy like myself a smooth, arcing path to the 1-3...something has to be said for

This is probably the best dry lanes ball i have thrown next to plastic. If you want an upgrade from plastic then this is your ball. I have a 15lb 2.50 top weight. 4in pin Have drilled with pin at 12 about an inch over bridge. The cg is about 2inch under bridge in center of grip. No balance hole needed. This made this ball really smooth on dirt which is what i was looking for i have good ball speed at about 18mph. I have above average revs for a left hander,so i need to find somthing smooth and this is it in dirt. This is a great ball for light oil.

I always get my ball drilled 12:00 or similar for a later break, especially big breaking balls. I decided to drill this ball the same despite the engineering of the ball and to my suprise it was basically a straight ball.It hooks about approximately six boards before slamming into the pocket. when this ball finally hooked, it slammed into the pocket and finished off the 3, 5 and 9 pins solid. Now, I use this ball to pick up spares and to compliment my other balls and if the lanes are dry or use an inside track.. I go to this ball and when I find the pocket... BOOM! I recently used this ball on wood lanes and it took me till the fourth frame to find the pocket and I struck out... I ended up with a 268, 213, 235 series. I was pleased and often go to this ball when the lanes dry up or medium conditions.

I got this ball because it had a medium strength core with a weak reactive cover. I had it drilled with the pin next to ring finger and the cg just a tad right of grip center with a small weight hole. Ball was a bit squirty at first so I sanded it down to 1000 grit. This is now a great control ball. On flying backends I can strike all day with it. As soon as the oil carries down a bit it leaves ten pins unless you hit light. On drier patterns its an excellent ball to start out with when the backends are fresh. It is easy to get to the pocket on any pattern with a defined dry area. I just wish the ball had a little more hit. An easy to control ball on its shot but only average hit.<scrip

I was looking for a ball for light to dry lanes. I wanted to purchase the Storm Hot Rod but was urged to buy the Barbed Wire instead. I trust the guys at the pro shop but had my doubts until I used the ball. I always purchase Storm Balls and have 5 including the Barbed Wire. This ball has given me the best results in such a short period of time. It is easy to control and so far after 2 weeks of use has been very consistant. I have played from outside the first arrow to the third arrow with good results.

I am a medium rev medium speed bowler. This is my go to ball when the lanes start to break down. My Barbed Wire is drilled for a nice controlled arc. I needed a ball that wouldn't over react on the backend. After speaking with a couple of the proshop guys at my alley, we decided this would be a good ball to try out. I am very glad we decided on the Barbed Wire! I've had it for about 2 months now, and I love it! Storm did a great job with this ball. Great performance at a decent price!<s

whats up all!!! i just got back into bowling after about a 11 year break.currently i've been throwing a columbia beast and the only way i can get any kind of hook is to wear my $50.00 storm wrist guard.now that i've settled down with wife and kids who all love the sport i treated myself to some new equipment.i ordered a storm fear factor and a storm barbed wire.i just got the storm barbed wire in a 15 lbs with a top weight of 3.42 and a pin of 2.5 to 3oz the sport has changed so much i went to a local pro that a coworker recommended and rolled my beast a few times and told him i wanted a ball that would have good lenght and a nice hook on the backend.again since i'm not up on all the science of drilling i pretty much left it in his hands,so we talked and agreed on the "leverage" drilling on storms drilling sheet.we placed the pin and cg 3 3/8 from the pap, this drilling did require a balance hole so we put it on the pap to remove excess side weight, and i did have inserts installed.WELL.

This ball looked good and i had read up on it. My proshop finally got one in and i had to get it. I got drilled according to a storm sheet that would handle my reaction. After getting this ball drilled i went straight to the lanes. I shot a 648 first three games with this ball. I was playing outside 2 anrrow on meduim-light oil. The first few shos were high. Wants the lane started breakin down the Barbed Wire reall came alive. Hit hard only left a fe 10 pins n a few 4 ins. Overall Great Ball for the cost. Update-Went to a house with a little heavy oil and wood lanes. The barbed wire did well, but if u dont throw it juss rite on heavy oil it will slide. On oil you must throw it on a straighter line.

I think I said it all in the likes but as you know to post a review we need to drag this out so here it goes. The ball was drilled with the pin under the fingers and the CG kicked out th 2 o'clock. This gave the ball on the sport pattern a very readable break point. This ball saved it's energy for the pins and threw them around like they weighed nothing. Great color and the Barbed wire made me think of Pam Anderson in her not so famous movie "Barbed Wire". If it was red I could of thought about her in Bay Watch, but then again who would want to bowl after that.
