If there is ever a ball that flies under the radar this is it. I'm the only guy in my area that even owns one. I can use this ball on any medium to heavy pattern. When I bowl well with it, I get "What in the world are you throwing now?" I simply laugh and keep striking. You just can't use the box surface on broken down patterns. Good length for a strong ball and great carry. I've played everywhere from straight up to wheeling 5th arrow with it. A great benchmark ball to build an arsenal around.

This ball is top class one of the best bowling balls i have ever thrown and i have a very varied aresnal, the ball revs well hits like a truck hooks a fare amount perfect 4 anyone needing a good all round ball but if u do want to use it in a varied amount of conditions get it polished i also have a brunswick fury which i find a good ball but nothin compared to what the roto grip odyssey is like the oydssey grips more, is more forgiving, looks nicer, nicer roll just a better ball overall roto grip are very underestimated and in future i feel i should take into consideration of the smaller brand instead of bein so caught by the bigger brands such as brunswick

I maintain my cover with a green Scotch Brite and this is the only ball I've been using during league, except my spare ball on occasion. Mine is drilled pin under ring finger with a flare increasing hole in the thumb quadrant. Gets through the heads great then goes into a strong roll at 35-45 feet depending on oil. League shot is med-heavy oil (40 ft) with carry-down fom open bowling. (They oil them, but don't strip them,) This ball handles the oil well, and with small adjustments with foot and target positions, can stay pretty close to the same line, left foot on middle dot, throwing 10 board to 7, and coming back strong.

What a ball. This was part of our new ball league I had to throw in some cash but really wanted to try a RotoGrip. My current Obsession is out of date. I am a newer bowler with just four league seasons under my belt. I carried a 162 avg. this summer with only two games over 200. This ball right out of the box for fun night which is what we call cosmic bowling. lights out loud music, N/T scoring, you know the drill. Well with no N/T strikes I shot a 193. This thing tracked right down the lane then turned and destroyed the pocket. I think it actually picks up speed when it contacts the pins. I will no more when I have had some normal practice with it but I'm thinking I will throw this ball a long long time.

this is the most versatile ball i have ever thrown. U can play deep when the lanes dry up you can play it straight with oil. I have never seen this ball not hook unless i threw it bad. if you make good adjustments you will be rewarded with good results. This ball is better than the batle because of its versatility and not much weaker on the heavier stuff. If you like roto and you dont have one are doing yourself a great injustice. I paid 99 bucks for this ball and it was probably one of my best bowling investments.Stronger than the nm by a good 7 boards and the carry is phenomenal.

This ball is an amped up version of the Epic, which I love as my first ball out of the bag. The Ultimate Vision cover gives this ball more muscle than the Epic, which makes it complimentary if you're using more than one Roto. The Epic could be a little late breaking on the heavy stuff and this is where the Odyssey picks up the slack. Same fast revving core with stronger tires. Reads the midlane well and continues on its mission after it turns the corner. Blasts the pins, as does the Epic. This cores just flat out crunches pins. The only down side is - use it on what it's made for -moderate to heavy oil. There are some oils that the 'Vision' coverstock just does not like and you'll know 'em when you see 'em.

High Perfomance Line Asymmetrical Core Solid Reactive coverstock The Odyssey hooks way too much OOB. However before you run to shine it up throw a couple games on it. With very little play the ball tames down nicely. Very familiar roll as the Saga and Battle. However a little stronger off the spot. I found it best on fresh patterns as the ball is too strong once the front part of the lanes break down. Due to the Ultimate Vision coverstock, which is also very adaptable. Adjust the coverstock for your favorite pattern. And Enjoy! Kelly O'Driscoll Roto Grip Staff

My Odyssey came with a 3” pin. It was drilled with the pin above the ring finger and both the pin and Mass Bias 4” from PAP. We put a 1 1/8” balance hole on the VAL. The CG was swung way to the right. The box finish seemed very dull, and the resulting reaction was the ball hooking early. The ball seemed to lope down the lane. We hit the finish with the 2000 abralone pad again which seemed to give sheen to the surface. On a house shot I was able to play throw between the 2nd and 3rd arrow and bounce the ball off the dry. Under this condition, the ball had a nice smooth reaction back to the pocket. I think this ball will be best for me when I am playing a longer oil condition. The asymmetrical cores of the line seem to want to start up too early for me. This and the dull cover created a situation where this ball was too much for me. After I put a sheen on the ball and encountered a condition that provided me the oil and length needed, I was able to move inside and play the

The Odyssey is a great ball, there is no doubt. The ball feels good in my hand and rolls well on release. The ball does a good job getting through the heads, provided there is enough oil. Be careful with it, however, if you do not have a lot of fine control. If the ball does not have enough oil, it will roll out on you if you don't keep your speed up. If you are a down-and-in bowler, be sure to take your hand off the side if conditions are a little dryer or you start leaving some really ugly splits because of its entry angle. Lower speed bowlers are advised to bowl through the center of the lane and let it come back on its own--this is a very aggressive ball.

I'm a very, very average, mid-190's bowler, with a low track and a tendency to spin the ball a bit. I throw with a relatively slow speed and medium/low revs. When I first saw the Odyssey in my pro shop I was surprised by how matte the finish was. Perhaps they measure things differently in Utah but it's closer to 1000 abralon out of the box than 2000. After one game I took the ball up to 2000 abralon and I've had great success playing a middle lane fifteen board out to ten shot and in ever since on a typical THS pattern. And it's been working incredibly well. My first one cracked around the finger inserts after five games. That was the first ball I've ever had that cracked. Roto Grip replaced it with no problem. Great Company! I now have two of them, keeping one in reserve for the future. That's how much I love this ball. I cannot recommend this bowling ball highly enough. It's not a magic ball that automatically strikes everytime as the bowler still has to hit his/her mark. But it's a

love that it has a dull surface, as that is what i usually always use no matter where i am, be it oily or dry and this ball, with a slight speed adjustment, movement foreward or back ward on the approach and left to right will handle almost all oil shots. used it five days ago in teh PBA experience league at our house on the cheetah pattern and all i could say was NICE shot 681 with it for the first 3 games and then switched to a neptune because it dried out real fast, but this ball jsut kept carrying and carrying and carrying and carrying energyzer rabbit of balls

Since the inception of the Epic line in 2004, Roto Grip has been on the forefront of High Performance asymmetrical technology with the Maximus II Core and the Ultimate line of Cover stocks. A great oil ball, Ultimate Vision solid reactive cover stock. combination is provides the most versatile reaction and back end recovery in the market today. . It reads the mid lane very well and then revved up and provided an very, very strong movement. The Odyssey Ultimate Vision solid reactive cover stock has enhanced traction grabber on the lane where it should react This combination provide an surprising versatile asymmetrical bowling ball that maintains its readability There was no trouble playing deep inside (5th arrow) getting the ball through the heads, And no problem getting an reaction back from deep inside an back to the pocket with out losing any hitting power. Oil absorption rate is very slow which is good for today’s bowling balls, This is definitely Roto’s str

Ball specs – 15 lbs 3 oz, 3.74 top weight, 2.5 inch pin. The Odyssey was drilled 4.5” X 65 degrees. This put the pin above the ring finger and the pre-marked mass bias 2 inches right of the track in the strong position. A balance hole was placed 1 1/8 inches down from the PAP on the VAL to bring the ball back to ½ ounce positive side. The cover was left in OOB condition. The Odyssey is a monster ! ! ! I have never had a ball reaction like what the Odyssey provides. It is surprising clean, but not long through the fronts with the OOB surface. It read the mids very well and then revved up and provided a very, very strong move off the spot. The Odyssey rolled through the pins like they didn’t even exist. This ball provides more back end recovery than anything I have ever thrown. Use it for what it is intended for (oil) and you won’t be disappointed. This is definitely Roto’s strongest release to date. John Brodersen <sc

This ball is amazing. This ball can hook through just about anything. Whether you have clean, strong backends or not, this ball doesn't really care. I drilled mine with the pin 4 inches from my PAP 2 1/4 inches from the rev line, which puts the MB about 4 inches from the PAP, and the pin is 3 1/2 inches above the midline, with a balance hole 5 inches straight over on my VAL just to make the ball legal, I didn't really want to change the reaction. I'm glad I didn't put the hole in a different position, I love the reaction of this ball. I don't have any trouble getting the ball through the heads, and no problem getting any reaction on the backend either. Carrydown doesn't really seem to have any effect on the is ball. I had to put a little polish on the ball, and now I love it even more than I did before.

A great oil ball, better than the Horizon solid. I used it for the first time in our county tournament on a tight, 41 ft oil pattern on HPL 9000 synthetic lanes. Shot 748 (245-269-234) in singles out of the box. Ended up shooting 1942 in all events which was good for 1'st place along with the 748. FInished 2'nd in doubles. For my roll type (power stroker) , the complete Epic line is a winner. This ball was drilled 4" pin x 4" Mass Bias, pin above my fingers and 2" off the vertical axis line. The Cg on the ball was to the right of the pin/MB, so it ended up a few inches from my axis point (5 1/4 > and 3/8 up). Top weight was 2.78 so the weight hole was not that big and drilled rev leverage to get the started in the mid lane a little better. For my game, rev leverage holes work quite well. I had about 3-4 more boards of area on the fresh oil than did anyone else on the pair. The 748 was 100 pins higher than the other 3 bowlers, one of whom is a Hammer regional staffer, one is a Sr PBA

2 1/2" pin. Pin just below my ring finger, cg shifted right about 2 1/2 inches and mas bias about 5 o'clock, 1 inch below and 1 inch right of thumb hole. Balance hole 5" out from canter of span with a 7/8 in bit about 2" deep. my ball speed is around 16mph with above avg rev rate. Must Have ball for any serious bowler. You can lay this out to work an any number of lane conditions. Looks great and rolls even better. Can't go wrong with this another great ball from Roto Grip.

I drilled this ball to emphasize the smoother characteristics within the ball and it still had enough on the backend to have some kick! This ball is another must have from Roto Grip... I'm so excited to throw it that it actually makes me want to bowl more. It's smooth off the dry very continuous. It flares a boatload, but somehow maintains its readability. It hits hard, but it keeps the pins low. It's everything one would want in a medium to heavy condition ball. It is an attention grabber on the lane and on the shelf! Don't wait, just buy one!
