This is by far my favorite ball in the Roto Grip line. I've had it now for almost a year and it's still my favorite ball in my bag. When I first got the ball drilled out it was right before the USBC Open Championships last year. I used it the night before I left in league and shot 700 with it and I had never even practiced with the ball before. When I used it out at the Open Championships I dominated with it. I average 228 for the nine games and ended up profiting more than $10,000 from my placings in the tournament and from brackets. The Mystic was the only ball that I used during the Open Championships and it definitely paid off for me. I just got back from the U.S. Open where this was the only ball in my bag that was actually able to work on that condition. I averaged 205 with the Mystic in the U.S. Open and 170 with the other balls that I used. If I had just used the Mystic the entire tournament I might have made the first cut. Lesson learned, the Mystic should always be

This ball will really turn a hard corner on a house pattern and some PBA patterns as well. I love the look of the motion in the midlane especially. Not squirty at all as long as your're not trying to match it up on a slush pile of oil. This ball has a great midlane move with the same fast reving motion of the horizons. Strong arcing hook with a 4.5 x 4 layout. Takes the pins out like a high dollar ball. Very versatile.May not quite be enough ball on heavier patterns without some surface adjustments. Can't really complainat all. Probably one of the best pearl particles on the market.

14lbs4oz ,2.6 T.W.,2.5"pin. Drilled 4x4 pin over cg stacked below ring. This ball quickly gets 37' winds up into a black quivering blur, stands up then "left turn clyde" straightens out and screams bloody murder to the pins and unleashes it's hellish rampage thru the rack rarily leaving anything but carnage, wrath and splinters. With the cover at 2000 polished I just might have found a full set ball, something that this bowler has not had for years. It looks as though I'll have to stock up on crying towels to hand out to the competition this upcomming season as it will take the jaws of life or amputation of my right arm to pry this ball from my clutches.

Mid Performance Line Symmetrical Core Coverstock Pearl Particle Some of my favorite balls have been the pearl particles from Roto Grip. I was extremely excited to try the Mystic. Great looking ball. Proven core on the Horizon line. Drilled up pin under finger for earlier roll, no adjustments to the cover. The Mystic made the most violent move off the spot than any other RG ball I've thrown. The hit was great when it got there but getting their consistantly was the problem. The cover was a little to sensitive to the dry. Adjusting the coverstock helped but I think the drill pattern was a little to aggressive for this core/cover combo. The ball worked much better with weaker drilling patterns. Kelly ODriscoll Roto Grip Staff

I bought this ball only because I work in a pro shop, and just wanted to try it out, so I could tell customers about it, if they asked. Very glad I did buy it. This ball is an overall good looking ball, and for the price, there isn't a much better ball on the market. Hits hard, strong read on the mid-lane, and is fairly versatile. First night with it, bowled a 690 on a fresh house shot, throwing down 10. Then, bowled pot games after, and could still throw it, without having to make a huge adjustment.(down 15). Color scheme can be a little deceiving when trying to find your roll, but I have red finger grips in it, and have no problem. Overall, great ball, and I recommend it to anyone wanting a versatile ball, without having to spend two bills on a ball.

I had this ball drilled with a 4 x 4 drilling with the pin above the ring finger. The ball reads the condition well and provides a nice consistent reaction on most conditions. The pearlize particle fits very well between the Solid Horizon and the Horizon. I used this on a house shot with 38 feet of oil. I was able to play deeper with this ball than the Solid Horizon and open up the lanes a few more boards. As the lanes transitioned, all was required was a move left with my feet to keep the ball in the pocket. On dryer conditions the polished surface helps get the ball through the heads and still has enough energy to make the turn and hit hard.

I purchased this ball for fit under my Epic Odyssey and it does that extremely well. It has a smooth, controlled, strong arc to the pocket for me. It's far more powerful than you would think a polished pearl would be on medium/heavy oil, using a fifteen out to ten and in shot with a relatively slow speed, medium/low amount of revs. Carry is great, especially on lighter pocket hits. I recommend this bowling ball completely and without reservation. Roto Grip has always produced great mid-priced bowling balls and this one is no exception. Some have complained about the color scheme making it difficult to check their revs on their shots. Small problem. Just use lighter colored grips and thumb.<s

I would recommend using either a 75 degree ,45 degree, or label layout in this ball. A zero or 25 degree may cause the ball to roll too early and have minimal back end reaction on house shots and short PBA patterns. After re-drilling mine with a 45 degree layout, I was able to play the 37' PBA experience league pattern straighter and shot 869 (192-209-209-259)for 4 games changing pairs every game. The particle cover gives this ball a better read of the oil pattern than the polished Horizon reactive. Pin hitting power is the same.

Ball specs – 15 lbs 0 oz, 2.32 top weight, 2.75 inch pin. The Mystic was drilled 4.75” X 65 degrees. This put the pin above the ring finger and the non-marked mass bias 1 inch right of the center of the thumb hole. A balance hole was not needed and the cover was left in OOB condition. The Mystic has a great color scheme and is a great looking piece of gear. This pearl particle ball is very clean up front, transitions well in the mids and provides a strong (almost angular) move on the back end with great continuation. The Mystic provides a different look than previous RotoGrip pearl particle releases as it is cleaner in the front and provides a stronger backend move than the RSP and Oracle Vision. The Mystic gives the early revs (but still clean) and backend continuation of the Helios core and is a great fit between the original Horizon (pearl) and the Horizon Solid. John Brodersen

I would suggest this ball for just about any bowler. This is a great ball for medium conditions. I drilled my Mystic with the pin 4 1/2 inches from my PAP about 3 1/2 inches above the midline, so that places the pin just above my ring finger. This drilling gives the Mystic a great skid snap roll, which is something I was looking for. I think this ball will be very versatile for a lot of different bowlers. This ball fits in perfectly in the Horizon line-up. The only drawback I have seen thus far, is the difficulty in reading the ball because of the color scheme, use light colored grips and slugs.

This should be a good ball on medium conditions on most surfaces for any type of game. Hits hard. My only real concern was its readability. I don't use inserts and prefer not to see my slug, so this ball ended up looking like a solid dark orb going down the lane, which looks really cool, but is hard to read. When you guys drill this ball up (and pretty much anyone has a place in their bag for a ball like this), make sure to use inserts/slug that stand out and you shouldn't have anything to dislike about this ball. Smooth through the front and hits like a truck, something most any bowler can appreciate. Jason Hoff, Roto Grip Staffer and Precision Bowling Services
