Horizon

Since the dawn of the 21st Century no one can compete with the success that Roto Grip® has had in the mid-price category. The introduction of the all-new HORIZONTM reinforces that truth by building upon the legacy that the RetroTM Line and the RSTM Series have established. Featuring the new HeliosTM weight block, this unique design delivers a lower RG and medium differential for consistent mid-lane motion along with an angular move off the spot. The single density core guarantees a higher coefficient of restitution for increased hitting power, even on those off-pocket hits! We have taken the best characteristics from our past and have created the outstanding True GripTM pearl reactive coverstock. It comes to you in a 1500 grit polish for added length and maximum energy retention at the break point on those medium patterns.

I got this ball after my success with the Silver Streak SE and it only took a few weeks for me to find out what a great ball the Horizon is. During league play I shot a 300 game and 790 series with the Horizon and it was only a few weeks old. The predictability with the Horizon is the biggest positive for me; I know what I'm going to get and where the ball is going to go. I havn't had as much success with the Horizon on tougher lane conditions, but for any house shot this ball is a must have. I also like the carry that I'm able to generate with this ball because of the amount of energy it stores up for the last 20 feet. When it makes that turn for the pocket the pins really don't stand a chance. -------------------- Mike Keily - Roto Grip Amateur Staff ROTO GRIP - King Of Them All!

This my go to ball when the heads are reading. Will say this is a great ball to fill the starting point of an arsenal. Its very smooth and controllable, and will give you an honest read on any surface. Not a good choice if you need a hard check off the spot or a very angular attack at the pocket. Plus, maintain the cover as it will start to act like it is a "dead" ball after 20 games. Fear not, it just needs a little TLC. It is not for every pattern out there, but will roll well on most. Used at Corpus for the Open and took 65th in reg. All-Events, thanks to this ball. My opinion, get one while you can!

Drilled pin 1" over ring finger, label leverage. I scuffed th cover with a gray Scotch Brite to make the more versatile for me. I can use the Horizon on medium-medium oily conditions. For Medium-oily conditions, I'll play the Horizon up the boards from 5 and out with a nice strong arc from about 40-45 feet. For medium oil, Ill swing from 15 to 3 where it will pick up at 35-40 feet and make a strong arc back to the pocket. This is probably one of the best releases from Roto Grip. It has been a very popular ball because of it's symmetrical helios core which makes the ball very stable. Depending on drilling layouts, it can be very controlled with a smooth arc, to skid-snap.

On medium and house patterns this ball makes it unfair to other bowlers if they don't have the Horizon Pearl to combat you. Like all the other Roto Pearls before it this ball is a gem on house conditions a must for every bag. Another ball I just wish I could use it more I try to stay away from the "wall" shot houses where a poly ball can dance. But when I need the H.P. it's always with me cause I know I can flat out score with a ball thats this good. I just don't know Hank and the guys keep pumping out all these wonderful toys.

This ball is very strong up front with continous backend I would recommend a layout of pin above the fingers for the avg. hand and or slower ball speeds and your favorite layout for people with above avg. ball speed and revs and watch the pins fly as this ball sends messengers this is a high end reaction for a fraction of the price My horizon was set up 5" from my PAP below both fingers in a rolling postion w/wh the ball was set up for stips of wet/dry I did not get that reaction instead I utilize this ball when I need to left to right without the ball leaking right

Ball specs – 15 lbs 3 oz, 2.90 top weight, 3.5 inch pin. This great looking pearl ball was drilled 5.5” X 55 degrees with the pin one half inch above the finger bridge and the non-marked mass bias one and one half inches right of the thumb hole. An extra hole was not needed. The cover was left in OOB condition. The Horizon is very clean thru the heads (even though it revs quickly off the hand) picks up smoothly in the mids and exhibits a strong arc with continuation on the back end. Hit and carry are very good. A great goto piece when solids and more aggressive balls are going early or inconsistently and/or not making it around the corner. Compared to the RS-1 (the ball it replaced in the mid performance line), the Horizon does not squirt, reads the mids a little sooner and is not as angular on the back end. With the Horizon, you’re getting a high performance ball for a mid performance price. John Brodersen

This low rg ball will make a great companion for the RS-X. With the proper pin placement for the condition, the polished cover will provide enough length to retain the energy of the high differential core on medium oil conditions. For league bowler's looking for a high performance ball for a fresh house shot, without a high performance price tag, the Horizon is definately a ball to be considered. Tournament players will want to consider this ball for the medium patterns (37' to 40'). The overall characteristics of the ball will give you the many options to drill it in order to match it up with the right pattern length and oil volume. <sc

This is a great core and cover combo. The shell is very grippy which counts much for the tremendous action at the pins. The pin action is phenomenal and the ball is probably the most versatile ball in their line. This ball saves every ounce of energy for back-end pin action. Notice, I didn't say "back-end hook." Although it does hook sharply and strongly off of dry boards the most impressive thing to me is the pin action it produces whether it is in the hook stage or not. You can play it up the oil line or boom it back from (Or around) dry boards. When it finds dry you'll see tremendous midlane rev and a strong shifting of the gears.I think this weight block shape is a great compliment to your entire line.Cliff Saliba

I have two of these, the first is drilled with the pin 2" above the middle finger with the cg swung toward the PAP about 1/2", the second is drilled with the pin about the bridge with the cg swung toward the track about 2". The first gets done the lane extremely clean and makes a nice move toward the pocket. I have found that for this ball I must have some type of head oil. The second one rolls just a touch earlier (about 5' or so), makes a quick tranisition in the midlane, and just rolls toward the pins. Both balls seem do what I have seen a lot of my Rotos do and that is roll strong on the backend and just explode the pins. Big plus on this ball along with the RS line is that they seem to keep the pins low which seems to increase carry dramatically. I highly recommend this ball for wet/dry conditions with some bit of head oil and for the majority of house shots where you need a pearl resin shell.

This ball is an excellent ball. I drilled it so that it goes long and I throw from the outside first arrow. I just let the ball roll off my hand and it does the rest. Even if I miss the pocket, the ball hits like a bat out of hell! The best thing about the ball is the bargain price! A medium-priced ball that should actually be a more expensive ball. This ball is also one of the better looking on the market now...unlike the Epic Battle. The new core obviously works as I have not shot a game below 215 since using it. Bal even hits hard going Brooklyn so what else can I say but buy this ball!
