One of the best balls I've bought, used it for 3 games and bowled 675 straight out of the box. then another 3 on the same lanes and bowled 570. Very smooth going down the lane with a massive back end recation. The only problem with this ball is when the lanes dry up it'll start to chop up on the head. But it's not for dry lanes so there really isn't a problem with it. All in all a great ball and worthy of anyone's arsenal, no matter what your style or experience level.

Used the EPIC primarily for about 110-120 games and without a doubt loved this ball. Hits hard, great mid lane read, smooth arcing ball that I would definately purchase again (scouring Internet for a deal as I can't resist trying for the good deal and my pro doesn't mind drilling balls not purchased from him). Would recommend to anyone! As a high speed medium rev bowler I would say its great for medium to heavy oil, likely could use something like the Battle or SD-73 for heavy, heavy oil. EPIC, a Great Ball by Roto-Grip and I think I will try the SD-73 next for the Nationals!

This is a great ball, a must have. This was my first Roto-Grip ball and it will not be my last !!!!! I would NOT recommend a factory finish. I tried it for too long and it killed my average. This could also be due to the fact that the house I bowl in tends to keep the lanes pretty dry.I switched to a polished finish and the the pins drop like flies. This really is a great job by Roto-Grip. Congrats Roto-Grip, you have a repeat customer. Also don't try to over throw the ball, the ball does a great job on its own.

Roto Grip has a definite winner with the new maximus core. The Epic looks good, rolls very predictable even with super strong drilling. I roll over first arrrow 90% of the time and this ball was very forgiving on all but the worst shots. Normally I leave quite a few ten pins, but not this time. Pin action was a joy to watch on light hits, amazing on the slightly heavy hits and devastating on the solid pocket hits. Since I recieved my Epic and watched the way it hits and carries, I have since ordered an Epic Battle for heavier oil. If it turns the corner, drives in and destroys the pins as good as the Epic does, there is no way I won't be a Roto Grip fan for life. SINCE THIS REVIEW: 4 GAMES, MED OIL, 205,279,215 & 243. THIS BALL IS THE REAL DEAL! 50 60 GAMES LATER STILL THE MOST USED BALL IN MY ARSENAL. MED/HEAVY TO LIGHT OIL. This ball and better concentration on my mark has upped my average 12 pins in 6 weeks! strokers & tweeners and outside line players will love this ball! THIS BA

I'm a stroker with a 200+ average. I picked up the Apocalypse for the house shot where I used to bowl. Good ball but I couldn't get it to finish when I started bowling in a new house with heavier oil. I started leaving five tens especially later in the evening when carrydown became a factor (they condition just before our league). I talked to the local pro. He said if liked the charateristics of the Apocalypse I should stay in the line and go with the Epic. It took one game to figure out where my best line was and since then I've averaged over 220. This ball hits hard but gives me the control and predictability I need. I've left a few 8 pins but no more 5's. It feels so good to be putting ten in the pit again!

Reaction Characteristics The Roto Epic is a heavy oil ball designed for bowlers who prefer Asymmetrical weight block with Reactive coverstocks. The core is huge combined with a Reactive An Solid Core 2-piece Asymmetrical with 800 grit This Ball Has Great recovery & Super Hitting Power Recovery is awesome to behold. Out of the Box: With its finish the epic will match up well on Oily to medium-dry . depending on you hook factor The Epic will quickly established a reputation for excellence in ball reaction, durability and longevity of ball reaction. On the lanes, Activator Coverstock is clean through the heads with excellent mid-lane recovery and a strong back-end I have 20-40 games on my bowl and it still hit and reacts Within 2-3 board from the first day it was used I like to Thanks Hank and Roto Grip For A great addition

I like the fact that this ball can be thrown on very different lines and still carry well. It hits extremely hard, and very seldom leaves the corner pins. It tracked very strange at first, I'm not sure if it was just my axis rotation or what, but it tracked dead center straight through the center of my grip. Even with that being said, the ball still rolled very well. I actually got this ball from a friend, who is a roto-grip guy. We plugged the ball, and re-drilled it with a balance hole on the P.A.P, and that fixed the tracking problem. However, the ball still rolls about the same. Overall, I was impressed by the versatility of this ball. It's rare that you can find a ball to throw on various lanes and different lines.

ANY person looking for a strong moving, intense bowling ball should have this one at the top of their list or extremely close. This ball is not for those who like a really smooth, arcing/strong arcing reaction. With the pin placed 4 1/4 inches from my PAP and the mass bias in the strong position this ball really rips across the final 10-15 feet of lane. When bowling on a heavily oiled tournament or sport shot, even with 45 feet of oil, this ball still finds enough room on the lane to hook without wasting hardly any energy in the heads or midlane. I am a high revver of the ball who uses at least 18 mph of ball speed on nearly any condition and it sets up perfect to my game. What may be my favorite part about the ball is it's not particle. The Ultimate Vision reactive cover in combination with the Maximus core make for a violent reaction with the layout I have.

fantastic performance. i drilled it with pin 4" from pap and mb in strong position. i play a high track so i took the pin above and right of my fingers. first i used it was a 246, 182, 247, 247, 201, 179 series on a brand new synthetic overlay and 40 feet oil pattern. i love polished balls so i polished it with ebonite extender polish. the hook is amazing and the pin-mix fantastic. some balls were not so clean into the pocket and a little thin but the pin-mix kicked them all. thank you for that great ball. my customers saw me playing this ball and a few of them are really interested in roto.grip now. please excuse my bad english and all my best wishes to you. timo

I got this ball drilled up Monday 7-25-05. Had a chance to throw it twice in league and about six games of practice. The drilling I decided on is very similar to my Retro and RS1 where the pin is over the ring finger at about 4 1/2" from my pap and the cg is stacked under the ring finger at about 3 3/8" and the mass bias just about 1/16" to the right of my thumb. I tried the ball first polished and this did not suit me so I took a burgundy scotch brite to it and the hit it with storm step 1 and then some rubbing compound rough cut. Then off to the lanes today for some practice at lunch. I shot games of 235, 183 and 279(7 2 and 11 in a row). This ball really has some impressive recovery!!!! Comparing this ball to the Retro and RS1 I would say it definately carries and has better backend. Tonight in league I shot 243, 221 and 232 for a 696. I would recommend this ball to anyone looking for a strong reactive. Polished it definitely gives more length than the Vision and I don't f
