Roto Grip Cell Bowling Ball

IMO this is the best ball on the market right now. It's versatility makes it the right ball for almost any bowler out there looking to improve their game. I would not recommend this ball for drier lane conditions. This is a heavy oil ball that can also be used on medium lane conditions as it transitions very smooth down lane. The price of this ball being lower then it's competition only makes it more of a steal! If you feel like your current bowling balls aren't giving you enough punch and leaving a lot of ten pins, I'd say give this ball a shot. You won't be disappointed!

I’ve drilled two Cell’s for myself. The first with the mass bias below and right of the thumb with the5 by 3 layout with the pin above the ring finger. This layout is great for medium to heavy oil. The ball has a nice clean arc to the pocket and keeps going through the pin deck. For the second, the mass basis is placed beyond the VAL. The pin is slightly below the ring finger. Wow what a difference. This ball is a monster in heavy oil. Nothing in league, tournaments or on the regional PBA tour will make this ball stop. It needs just a slight amount of friction to flip and start a heavy relentless roll through the pocket. I am amazed at the half pocket hits this ball carries. It annihilates the five pin. This is quickly becoming the only ball I throw.

All I can say is WOW! This ball is monster The CELL is very forgiving. I bowled some very good game with this ball. I am right handed and usually playing 2nd Arrow. Finally got a chance to throw this ball. I have drilled probably 30 of them for others with great results. several of them have drilled 2 of them. I laid this ball out with my favorite layout 4 x 4 with a 3 inch pin buffer. I finally got a chance to throw it on a left over USBC nationals shot.This ball is so forgiving that errant shots were made to look like good shots. On mistakes into the dry area it didn't jerk back like a normal resin ball but just made a hard arc back to the pocket and blew the rack. On shots pulled into the oil it still read the lane and hit hard. Biggest problem I had was it hitting too hard leaving several fast 8's and solid 7's. I can't wait to recover from my foot surgery and start tearing them up with this ball. Also can't wait for the pearl version

I don't know if it's the entry angle you're able to get or the weight block but this ball carries like no other I've owned. I'm very happy with these results on the USBC Open pattern because I'm confident I'll be able to the PBA Experience shots with this ball and layout. The other test is whether I'll have the comfort in league/tournament settings to just throw it out to an area and have it come crashing back. I'll find out more tonight (tournament) and midweek (league), as I only have 10 games on the ball. But the ball has worked great on the wet and dry, so I don't anticipate problems.<scri

PAP >5.25 and ^.5 5" Pin to PAP and 4" to MB. Pro CG. CG in Middle of Grip. with 30 degree axis tilt. Able to get the ball to the pocket with various angles but only average results with oil carry down. Then again this drill pattern is not really suited for carry down. I am impressed with the power and how low the pins stay to the deck. I standardly like symmetrical cores, and this core acts like a symmetrical design, consistant and continuous arc to the pocket. This ball has the ability to carry light mixing shots as well as some shots that are a bit high. This is my first RotoGrip bowling ball and I am impressed with the results. I see more RotoGrip equipment in my future.

I've drilled a few of these balls for myself and countless for customers and have yet to hear one negative thing (unless you count the ball hooking too much to use ALL the time.. lol). It is definitely a smooth, very rolly ball, but it is very readable and controllable at the breakpoint and has a versatility I've not seen from a strong ball before. The only people who won't like this ball are super low speed players, people bowling on drier lane conditions and really low average players who might have difficulty controlling any strongish mass bias balls. Essentially though, greatest ball I've ever thrown. Right up there with some of the classics- Storm Eraser, Storm Trauma ER, Storm Tour Power and the Track Heat.

I would say this ball is going to be a future shell for rotogrip. it is very durable. When I need more midlane than my SAGA gives me, the CELL is the next out of the bag. It will recover on the back ends. You have to trust this ball to come back from the pitch out. I wish I would of had this ball when I was out on the West Coast. I would highly recommend this ball for bowlers who need the ball to help them on the back end. Be sure to have a qualifed ProShop drill this high performance ball for your use. They know the layouts and can locate your Primary Axis Point. The best of luck to your game, this ball will give it to you. Just remember, Trust is a Must.

I had this ball drilled 4 X 4 with am x-hole in the finger quadrant. I bowl on lanes that have been used for open play all day, hen get re-oiled for league without stripping. We get tons of carrydown that makes for a long night, usually. Then I got the Cell.This ball hooks like crazy! I could play the lane almost anywhere I wanted when others had difficulty playing the lane anywhere. I opted for the outside line and shot 263 for he first game! Finished with 215, and 205, for a 682. I have only had this ball for 3 weeks and only bowl once a week. The Cell picks up and read the midlane very well, then makes a left turn and charges the pocket with continuation through the deck that is unparalleled. This is the heaviest rolling ball I have ever thrown and I love it! The carry is amazing also. When most are leaving corner pins, I'm not. The Cell seems to kick them out almost every time. Not a bad ball if it hadn't cracked from my cg through my thumb slug to about 2 inches past the thumb slug! About a 4 to 5 inch hair line crack. Who knows what it will look like after about 50 games. I threw this ball on a medium to heavy oil pattern that had a ton of carry down. The ball turned the corner with ease. I tried throwing my hammer vibe but that looked like plastic on this pattern! If I didn't hit the ball enough it just hit light and scattered the pins any way. Great ball I would suggest buying at least one, just hope yours doesn't crack like mine did!

I just wanted to say that the Cell delivers as advertised. This ball is truly remarkable. I drilled my Cell with the recommended 5 x 3 layout, with the RG in the B position and used the ball in a recent tournament which had the Scorpion (41 ft) oil pattern. I left the surface with the original box finish because of the pattern and lane surface (Proanvilane). The ball allowed me to be aggressive with my shots as I could miss left (I’m lefthanded) and the ball would still read the pattern and not shoot through the breakpoint. I played the pattern looking at the 6th or 7th board and could leak the ball to the 3rd board. The ball really performed well. I could see why Mike Scroggins loves the ball and why every lefthander, and lets not leave out the righthanders, who want to compete on PBA patterns should have one. I DRILLED THIS BALL WITH A 3.5 IN PIN AND KICKED THE PIN OUT AND DOWN NEAR PAP MB 1/2 INCH DIRECTLY BELOW MY THUMB AND CG NEAR CENTER FOR THOSE WHO DONT KNOW WHAT THIS DOES IT GIVES FAST REVING AND A VERY LOW RESPONSE OFF FRICTION IT WORKS BETTER THAN A NEG PIN AND LOWERS TRACK FLARE 1 TO 2 INCHES INSTEAD OF 5 TO 7 INCHES. The Roto-Grip CELL reacts early and has great back end performance. There is absolutely no trouble in medium-heavy oil, however, I have not thrown the ball in drier conditions. I can attest to the power and consistency of the ball itself. This ball responds quickly to a number of different lines, or shots. If there is one word to describe the CELL, it would be "adaptable". The break on the CELL is balanced, not quick and unpredictable as with other balls. In the past, I have had trouble carrying corner pins due to the fact that I throw a "full roller". I highly recommend the CELL because of the action the ball carries. It responds to any line you want to throw.

Wow if u r thinking about buying this ball do it .... this thing is bad ass i love it ..... the first 2 games with this ball were 267 and 233 the damn thing wouldnt stop hooking no matter what i did to it .... i love this ball and i will definetly be buying another to put away for future drilling ... thx to roto for a damn good ball ... and might i say ... im a first time roto user .... this is stupid .. why 100 words ... get rid of the 100 words .... word word word word god damn stupid thing theres no way to wright 100 words about a ball that can be described in 1..... and thats wow wow wow wow wow

First Roto Grip ball I have purchased and I am very iimpressed with it. Great ball out of the box. Probably the best one I have thrown in a long time. 771 and 749 first two sets with it out of the box. The ball never stops rolling. It hits very hard when in the pocket. Great carry and I never had to change my line all night with it. When you let up on the speed you will know it. Great ball and hope to see more like it in the future. Guess we all will be waiting for the pearlized version.

Oil patterns and Lane Surfaces: 1. Medium-light to medium house oil on Anvillane surface Just too light for this ball and my release/delivery. Started 1st game standing up against the the ball return and trying to throw it fast - not my strength. Couldn't get it far enough out to burn off some energy. If I pulled it inside, going no further right than 11 board AND did not come around it -- Not sure how I managed to shoot over 200. Put it away for 2nd and 3rd game. 2. Medium heavy oil pattern on Guardian overlay with pine backend. This house is very well taken care of, the heaviest oil pattern in 4 counties. Outside of 5 is drier but not one dry, inside can be a virtual flood. I bowled on this pattern/surface combo as my main test bed, because it's the only one heavy enough in my area to use the Cell (and my only practice for Nationals.) I bowled on it in various stages of use, including some very dry in the 5-10 board area and some mild to huge carrydown in the 5 - 10 board area.

the ball is ok but deff not my favorite im a brunswick man! this ball hits good if thrown good. ok mid lane but not great. i drilled it to carry a little bit but it still was a lil bit jumpy if you mess up. not great in heavy oil. but also not good in light oil or broken down lanes. i just think it is very very over rated! but its my opinion not yours so hope i helped a lil bit! 4 out of ten to me! i recomend the ultra zone by brunswick the ball is amazing nice carry and it hits so HARD great mid lane recovery. but just go what feels good and smooth

I have to admit that I judged this ball on a higher standard than most. Mainly because I paid a hundred and seventy bucks for this ball to use on heavier volumes of oil. What I got is a ball that reacts great in league, but leaves my bag when I bowl in tournaments. I wish I would have saved my money, not because it is a bad ball, but because I could have paired the Ultra Zone and the Twisted Fury for that price. Now that ship has sailed and I will have to wait another year or two before I buy a new ball.

Amazingly versitile ball. I can play many angles with this ball and the back end movement is amazing with a dull finish. Ball hits almost too hard. I have left several 8's and 9's. It almost feels as if I am cheating with this ball. This is a must have in your bag and will be an excellent addition for the regional tour dates coming up for me.This is the best ball I have thrown to date. Do not miss out on this ball. Out of the box with no practice shot 765. Right from the drill press. It will get better when I get a chance to tweek the cover and get a little more work on my thumb hole. I cant even imagine how well I will be able to throw this ball once I get my thumb fit perfect. Just amazing!!

Cell Drilled 3" pin buffer above the finger. Mass bias at 45 degrees. I left it out of box finish at 2000 abralon which was way to strong for a house pattern. I think it hooked at the arrows. I tried it on a 39' sport pattern and also found it too strong. I brought down the cover with a 4000 abralon pad and still found it too strong. I wasn't able to throw it effectively until I added a light shine. This is probably the strongest ball I have ever thrown. By watching the motion I would swear this ball is illegal. Hank Boomershine's intent was "to design an asymmetrical core with the characteristics of a symmetrical core." This could be a new revolution in ball design. It's very smooth and powerful with no quit in it. The coverstock is easily adaptable for most medium to heavy oil patterns. Stay away from the drier lane surfaces as the ball is much too strong. This ball is different from other balls. To me it rolls earlier than other balls due to the weight block, not the surface. This is just my opinion I'm an old school bowler not a scientist. The surface seems pretty smooth but the ball does not skid much. On an medium/oily or oily conditionn you have the edge on the other guy if you're using the Cell and he isn't. I've used this ball in a couple of my least favorite houses and it put me in the hunt. I got a few boards deeper and let it fly. Its a ball you should and can trust.

The Cell is very clean up front, with a smooth transition off the break point. Strong hit keeps pins low. A great complement to my Epic Saga's and Battle's. Surface is easy to work with using either Abralon pads, grit paper, or scotch brite pads. For heavy oil volumes, tweak the surface to 1000 or even 500 Abralon. The Cell will get through the oil, no problem, and retain energy for strong pin carry. Since its inception, the Cell has had great success on the PBA National Tour, being used by non staffers Danny Wiseman, Tommy Delutz, Mike Scroggins.

Using the Duel Angle Method to lay this out, my layout was 40\3.75\30. Or, translated into "old speak", this was basically a 3.75 X 4 drilling. 3.75 inches Pin to PAP, 4 inches Mass Bias or RG to PAP. Left this in box finish at 2000 abralon. My stats, VERY high track player (10 to 11 degrees axis tilt, I'm right on my thumb and middle finger with the first track), 30 to 45 degrees axis rotation, medium to medium\high revs and ball speed from 16.5 to 19.5. Sweet spot is straight up 5 or 10. First time out of box shot 166, 224, 264 for 654. Ok, you're thinking, oh boy, a 654, BIG DEAL. LOL... Here's the info. First game was a warm up, just messing around to see where this ball can come back from. Well, it didn't matter. As I adjusted hand positions and ball speed I could hit the pocket from ANYWHERE on the lane. Left more 10 pins as I moved left of 25 but that happens anyway. I flagged most of my one pin spares as I shot another strike ball to warm up instead of making spares. Second gam

All, I can say is IMPRESSIVE. I drilled my Cell using the Dual Angle method. I used a 60 degree drill angle, a 5" pin, and a 40 degree angle to the VAL. This layout places the pin above my middle finger, and the mass bias in a strong position. I had to place a small hole on my PAP just to tame the ball down a little, and to make it legal. This is the first ball out of my bag almost everywhere I go right now. I don't know if I have ever seen a ball flare this much. The track flare is almost all the way around the ball. Like I said I placed a balance hole on my axis point, which is 5 x 1 1/8, and the flare ends up about 1/2 an inch from the hole. Even though the ball flares as much as it does, I would expect it to roll early, but that is not the case. My Cell clears the heads, picks up a nice midlane roll, and the just NEVER quits. This allows me to move inside the rest of the lefties and then lets me bank off of them which is what I like to do a lot of the time, but with this ba

The ball was awesome. I had to throw it a little harder and get it out longer but it comes back really nice. The best part of the ball is it finishes and carries. I could go light, high it all carries the same which was the best part. I am not sure if I would use it on really dry lanes, but I can tell you I think it will work well even through high oil lanes. Don't be afraid to get the ball out there it will definately come back. Could this be a ball that puts this manufacture on the map?
