Since the Apocalypse was discontinued, my pro shop had a clearance on this ball and I couldn't resist. I wanted to see how Roto-Grip's high end balls do against their mid priced equipment. So I put them to the test. I threw the RS1 and Apocalypse on the same fresh house shot having them drilled the same. I noticed the RS1 skidded down the lane much further than the Apocalypse but recovered at a larger angle. The Apocalypse wanted to start earlier on the lane but it did not create its backend hook until it reached the same part of the lane as the RS1. Both had a similar backend reaction, amazing. They both carried well. Overall, the Apocalypse starts out smoother than the RS1 but ends more flippy than the RS1. Hook potential wise, the Apocalypse created about 3-5 boards more than the RS1. I still recommend it for the same condition, medium, since this new hybrid coverstock has trouble going through dry heads and loses friction in a significant amount of carrydown. Although a

The Apocalypse is a condition specific ball in my bag. It works wonderful in medium and heavy oil with no carrydown. However, when there's carrydown, it does not hook very much. I played on a variety of shots with this ball, and it carries very well on all shots. Straight up the second arrow, 15 to 10 board, you name it, it'll carry. Of course revolutions and ballspeed will have to be adjusted for these different shots. With clean backends, this ball simply destroys the rack. With carrydown, this ball leaves me a lot of 7 or 10 pins. I have it drilled to go long with a strong backend and sanded it out of its polished state. For those out there who have some of the Fuel-line balls, the Apocalypse will act similiar to these balls. I like this ball, but it isn't one of the greatest one out there, however, it will still hold a spot in my bag and is usually the first one out on those medium and heavy oil patterns with no carrydown.

I had this ball drilled with the pin to the right and above of the index finger. We kicked the CG and the RAD all right and in a straight line. I wanted to get some lenght with an aggressive turn. That is what I got. The ball even though drill to be aggressive is still very readable at the break point. You must keep your ball speed consistant or you will get in to trouble. The ball has incredable hitting power just like all the other Roto-Grip products. This ball is a great compliment to the Fuel line..12/16/04 shot a 300 with this ball. I do not know why I ever put this ball up. I guess we always like to play with new toys, but the old ones still work very well.

First night out with this ball and what a smooth, consistent reaction. The ball setup really nice through the heads and into the midlane and then POW!!! What a reaction on the backend. Pins stay low and disappear. When I rolled the ball wide, it still found it's way to the pocket and would at least leave the 10 pin. Which is better than a 2-8-10 split or a washout. It is my first pearlized bowling ball that I've purchased and I'm very pleased with this ball. It will be the first ball out everytime.

Apocalypse: "A writing prophasying a [violent change] in which evil forces are destroyed." (Webster Dictionary) What a Name for a ball........who ever came up with the name sure knew what he was talking about. I bought this ball to complete the set of my Roto Grip bowling balls. (Apocalypse, Silver Streak Pearl, Sonic Boom) They are all drilled to complement each other. The Apocalypse is a Great ball to have in your bag. This ball is very consistent with reaction, forgiving at times, looks good, and HITS LIKE NO OTHER!! I was very Impressed when i first threw it. It caught me by suprised on how much this ball hooked and Ripped It Up in the Backend. After about 40 games the ball died. Over Under like you never seen. Please visit www.hitvbowling.com

I drilled this ball up for myself with the pin 4 1/2 inches from my axis and the RG also 4 1/2 inches from my axis. No weight hole needed With this layout the ball was clean through the fronts and made a smooth arcing move around 40 feet. I tested the Uranium Buzzsaw along side of the Apocalypse. The Apocalypse would read the midlane sooner and didn't make as hard of a turn as the Uranium. This ball is best on Medium to Medium-Light oiled lane conditions. With the familiar core of the other Fuel series balls, you will have a similiar reaction. Any questions, please email me. Thanks, Bill BuddiesProShop.com

Besides the mentioned above, this ball it´s a perfect match between coverstock and core. The Rev-elation coverstock does a great job through the midlane and saves enough power for crushing the pins like no other ball. This ball gives me the feeling that I´m in control throug my entire game. I drilled my ball 4 inches pin from PAP, MB in strong possition. this layer gives a moderate lenght with a strong recovery in the backend. As I sayed, this ball gives me a very consistent roll with no surprises. I have nothing else to say, but this is an awesome ball. Great ball from rotogrip.

O.K. I have got to let you know - Roto Grip has finally got a TOP END ball that scores. I own all of their last top enders (Fuel, Top Fuel and the best of that lot the Pure Fuel) and was not impressed. That has changed. This is a for real top end ball that will move you into another dimension of your game. If you will just trust it, and make moves as it works the lanes over, you will love this ball. This brings me to another point for this ball, it seems to use the oil up after a game or more, so you need to know which way to move with it to keep scoring. I drilled my ball with a 4 inch pin about 45 degrees off axis. I did not need a weight hole, but have room for one later if I need it. (finger weight is just barely under 1 ounce, side weight is 3/4 ounce positive) I shot 224, 201 out of the box with it. (my average in that league is 194), My third game not so good, and had to finish with another ball.

I drilled my 15-pounder 5 x 4, pin at about 1:00, with the mass bias in the med-strong position. On a standard tophat, I was very, very impressed with the recovery. It comes out of the pattern and wants to make a left turn, and seems to retain all its energy (doesn't roll out)--possibly because of the strong flare. I'm flat out surprised that more people AREN'T using this ball. Gene Vincent (the Illinois senior who recently won a kid's regional), has shot a couple of 8's with his, and his wife Janet has a 300 and a couple of strong 7's. I would really recommend this ball, but it may be a good idea to drill it up pretty tame, because of the flare. (I put down burgandy scotch brite for the grit, but it was really 1500 factory.)

Well as you guys may know I bought a X-factor Reload and it is way too strong for my game,or my house, only can use it on heavy-heavy oil. Now for this ball it is maid by Roto Grip and has their strongest most newest core in it and also has thier new coverstock formula for a pearl reactive. Roto Grip is the sister company to Storm. My ball is 15lbs has 4 inch pin, 3.18 top weight in box. After drilling pin above ring finger, CG kicked right, the RG 1.5 inchs from thumb, 7/8 side weight plus I polished it. This will produce good length, nice flare and a aggesive turn on Medium-Heavy oil. I used this ball for about 20 games and it does what I want .My comfort zone is around 25-30 borad with my feet an release the ball over 15 out to 7 and it will recover very srong from there. I throw the ball 16 mph with Medium-High revs but am a stroker. So for crankers they would have to go left and drill it to go very long, or else it might be too strong. For those of you who own a Top Fuel the

Had two bowling balls with me .. the SLVER STREAK and the APOCALYPSE. To my surprise the lanes were MED/HVY oil .. I used the SS and the ball rolled beautiful. In the ninth frame of the 2nd game the first ball was a perfect hit and I left a seven pin. Figured it was time to change the ball. In the tenth I used the APOCALYPSE and struck out. The third game continued with the ball and had an excellent game. The ball is drilled 6" Pin from PAP according to drilling instructions. I've had a lot of balls since I've been bowling and this ball just FEELS different when making the approach and delivering. Almost like it has some forward momentum just waiting to explode. Really like the ball and would recommend it to ANYONE!
