This ball is just WOW! The new Sky Raptor is what we have been looking for! We waited a while for a new Raptor, but it was well worth the wait! This ball gets through the front part of the lane really well, is really strong in the mid lane, and has an amazing amount of backend! This ball is a more juiced up version of the Iron Forge! This ball will be a great piece in any bowler's bag! Layout: 60x4.75x30 PAP: 4 9/16" Over 1 1/2" Up

Layout 60 x 4" x 30 The sky is the limit with the first Affliction-led Raptor to hit the MOTIV ball chart as a standard US release. The Sky Raptor introduces the first modification of the reliable Affliction core, Affliction V2 (2.48 RG, .055 Diff), for stronger revving action in oil. To pair with the new core is the new Dynamic Infusion pearl coverstock (5000 LSS), a technology built to get through the heads while responding to fiction quickly. This pairing creates a good relationship for when you need a ball to read the midlane on fresher medium-heavy conditions that still has backend pop. I put the 4" pin on my Sky Raptor as I already have a 5" pin on my Mythic Jackal and wanted a stronger differentiation than just asymmetric vs. symmetric, and I got just that. While they are similar in overall hooking potential, these two balls provide vastly different reactions, giving me options for attacking the lanes. Whereas the Jackal is good at opening up the lane by pushing through the heads and revving hard on the backend, the Raptor likes to stay squarer by reading the mids a bit more, getting into a heavier roll thanks to the core and stronger pin placement. On the fresh house shot for my league, the Raptor provides a great control piece to eliminate the over/under jumpiness that can occur. I see an easy glide through the heads, a good midlane roll to provide predictability, and a quick reaction to the downlane friction without being 'flippy' and uncontrollable. This downlane response helps to blend out the pattern significantly while still providing a good entry angle into the pocket for better carrying opportunities. This piece provides so much predictability and consistency that it took less than 10 games out of the box for me to shoot 300 with it. Overall, I would say the strength of the Sky Raptor is in its ability to blend the lane, meaning that straighter angles are your friend. Once the lanes get to a point where you need to increasingly open up the lanes, it is an easy transition down to an Iron Forge or Pride Empire. The benchmark medium-heavy reaction provided by this ball is something that should be strongly considered for anyone's arsenal. Trent Overbey In the Zone Pro Shop MOTIV Staff www.motivbowling.com
