Motiv Jackal Carnage Bowling Ball

The Red Jackal Carnage provides a powerful motion unlike anything MOTIV has ever made before. It packs even more hook potential than the original Jackal with unparalleled control and continuation. The strength of the pearl Jackal is now amplified in a solid! Because the Jackal Carnage is so strong, it is an easy choice for bowlers that have high ball speed or low revs. It just flat out hooks! For tournament bowlers, it is an obvious fit for fresh high volume patterns.

This ball is the newest introduction into the Jackal line of bowling balls. The MOTIV Jackal Carnage features the Coercion XFS Reactive coverstock combined with the Predator core. It's strong in the front of the lane, but yet is clean and smooth enough through it that the ball does not burn up. It reads the med lane for change of direction and yet somehow retains it's energy for the most continuation that I've ever seen from a BIG ball. It will be a great fit in your bag on medium to heavy oil. I have the used Carnage on everything from high to medium volume sports patterns, as well as on your typical house shots. It’s strong and continuous enough to handle the sports patterns and blends out the house patterns like nothing I've ever thrown. I already have two Jackal Carnages (and I see many more in my future). One is laid out pin down with and extra hole down, for a smoother reaction. The other is pin up (above the ring finger), the cg basically stacked (just a slight shift right) and has no extra hole, for more energy down lane. Since this ball's release it is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Again, for BIG ball I have found it to be more versatile and continuous then I could have ever imagined. What's not to like. Has 2 majors already on PBA tour. For those looking for an earlier hook than the original Jackal then you will love this ball. This ball will allow you to play inside of your competition and smooths out any wet/dry conditions. Layout tested was 70 x 5 x 35. On nights when I expect the lanes to transition to wet/dry based on my competitions rev rate then this is the first ball out of my bag. I can stay ahead of the transition and control the pocket all night. For tournament bowlers or league bowlers this will be a great addition to your arsenal.

My over all review of the carnage is I believe this ball is well suited for players who like need a ball that will allow them to play straighter angles on heavy oil or long sport patterns. This ball will play well for players with smaller rev rates as the core revs easily and maintains continuation through out the lane. This ball will also fit those with higher balls speeds and see a need for something that will give them strong heavy roll to play in the puddle. I personally have not used the ball as this piece is really Strong. Clayton Mohr Motiv Staff

Jackal Carnage This Heavy oil ball is a beast. If you have been looking for something to read the lane under the heaviest of oil conditions the Jackal Carnage is the ball for you. Using my standard pin up and pin down layouts the Carnage provided very repeatable reaction in the early to mid lane area . The key to me was the Carnages ability to still move off the spot as it exited the pattern and the incredible continuation we have seen from the Motiv product line. THS bowlers who just live to play in will love this ball as it will allow you to get in deep with the Big boys as it provides the traction you will need to get through the heavy fronts and middles usually seen in most THS. This ball fits both high speed and low rev players and turns them into HOOK monsters. The strong predator core and Coercion XFS Reactive coverstock are a perfect combination to give you that extra advantage early in the block or on sport or heavy oil patterns. If you don’t have one of these in your arsenal you are missing that one piece that will get you out fo the block sprinting!!!!Get Motivated and get a Jackal Carnage NOW! Rev Rate:420 Axis Tilt:20 Axis Rotation: 45 Ball Speed:17 PAP Measurements: 4 1/8 Description: The Carnage is the second coming of the Jackal series. It comes wrapped in the new Coercion XFS Reactive coverstock. Underneath the skin of this animal is the successful Predator weight block which is inside the original Jackal and the now discontinued Raptor series. Out of box surface: 3000 Grit LSS Layout: 40 x 41/2 x 45 Ball Reaction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyivvkEvA18&feature=youtu.be Comparisons Jackal: The original does not grab as early and hooks 5 boards less overall than the Carnage; in terms of backend the original has more muscle. In terms of overall hook the Carnage has more muscle than the original. The original Jackal responds quicker to friction than the Carnage as it is a pearl, the Carnage in the friction for myself was too early and too strong for my liking. Both are meant for the heavy oil however I give the nod to the Carnage because of the Coercion XFS Reactive cover, overall the cover is stronger than the Turmoil HFP Reactive on the Jackal. Primal Rage Remix: In terms of length and backend reaction the Remix leads in the desired categories, in terms of ball reaction the Remix is more angular than the Carnage as well. Although in its own right the Remix produces a decent amount of hook, but not as much as the Carnage. Revolt Havoc: I love the Revolt Havoc for its continuation and the overall roll it provides, in my opinion the Havoc and Carnage are meant to play off of each other although they differ in ball motion. In terms of length I feel the Carnage is earlier because of the cover, in terms of hook the Carnage provides more overall than the Havoc. I’ve had success with using both in heavy oil but the Carnage allowed me to open up the lane more, in terms of digging into the lane it doesn’t get any better than the Carnage. Summary: Since the discontinuation of the Raptor Talon I’ve been waiting for its rightful replacement and the Carnage is just that and more. The Coercion cover is bigger, stronger, and digs into the pattern from start to finish in a way the Talon did not. Imagine a snow tire with chains on it that is the Jackal Carnage, traction and continuation in heavy oil from start to finish. I could play anywhere on the lane with this ball as long as there was enough oil to sustain it, the Carnage needs oil because that is what its meant for. If you have a spot in bag that you need to fill for heavier patterns I ask you to take a look at the Carnage, I can promise you it is worth your time because there is nothing better than causing carnage throwing a Carnage. Your game will thank you for it. K.C.White II Motiv Staff Whybowl Staff

By combining the proven asymmetrical Predator core (2.46rg, 0.060diff, 0.015int.diff) with the solid XFS reactive coverstock (finished at 3000 LSS), the resulting ball delivers an early midlane read with a strong arcing breakpoint shape and aggressive continuation through the pindeck. The Jackal Carnage is a great choice on Challenge/Sport patterns with heavier oil volumes or on the THS when the edge becomes too wet/dry to have predictable ball reaction and a move into the center of the lane with the target and breakpoint is necessary. With my speed and rev rate, the Jackal Carnage is four boards deeper with the feet and two boards deeper at the arrows when compared to the original Jackal with a similar drilling and surface. If you want to talk about the name of a bowling ball spelling out what its’ intend will be on the lane, the Jackal Carnage does just that. In terms of what this piece does on the lane and when it makes contact with the pin, it causes complete carnage! When a piece is introduced with the type of power like this; that is the least you can expect right?! Although, this is a follow up to the already powerful Jackal, the Carnage is a whole new breed of its own. The Carnage contains more hook potential, but yet displays unexpected control and continuation down lane. This has been a ball I have been waiting on for some time now I must admit. What I love about the Carnage is the fact that it’s consider almost a re-birth of the Raptor Talon but much stronger and aggressive on the lanes. The Carnage actually provides me with the aggressive cover stock and heavy core that I like but more on the smoother side where the original Jackal, being a pearl, was more angular down lane. Not that I dislike angular ball motion, a smooth arch/reaction has always been by bread and butter. I actually have by Carnage drilled similar to my original Jack, which placed the PIN right above the bridge of my fingers and the CG and MASS being kick out to the left. Now, when rolling them both at the same target and feet position, the original does seem stronger based off the ball motion. When you take into consideration the type of ball reactions, the original is more angular down lane. Once I began toying around with the different lines and angular, the true nature of the Carnage was able to shine through as the ball began grabbing the lane as if it had teeth where the original would then to go a pitch longer down lane and the corners began to appear. If you need an aggressive cover and heavy weight block, the Carnage delivers. If you need high hook potential but prefer control and continuation, the Carnage delivers in all 3 departments! What are you waiting for?!?! The moon is out and the lanes are waiting, it’s time to go #ONTHEPROWL! Review: The new Jackal Carnage is the latest release from Motiv Bowling. The Jackal Carnage is something like no other Motiv fans have ever seen. If you wanted hook, hook, and more hook but also control and continuation than the Jackal Carnage is the bowling ball for you. The Carnage is built by the Predator core and the new Coercion Reactive XFS coverstock and with that you get a bowling ball that hooks more than the original Jackal with more control and strong continuation through the pins. Like I said if you want hook then the Jackal Carnage is for you. INNER CORE Predator COVERSTOCK Coercion XFS Reactive FINISH 3000 Grit LSS Comments: The original Jackal blew me away with it performance when it first was released and the Jackal Carnage is just a next step up. When I first through this piece while on a typical house shot, the Carnage was just blowing pins away and it just seemed that with all that hook potential the continuation was just out of this world. To me, the Jackal Carnage was smooth down lane and the control that this piece has is unbelievable. That combination plus with the hook potential and strong continuation should not work but it does with this piece. Higher rev players will love this piece on higher volume conditions and lower to medium players with love this piece both on sport and house shot conditions because what is stated above. This is another home run for Motiv Bowling. Likes: Smooth downlane motion; very good control; strong continuation through the pins. Dislikes: None. I recommend the Motiv Bowling Jackal Carnage to types of bowlers. Motiv Bowling and Realbowlerstape.com Staffer, John Robertson www.motivbowling.com

Ball Specs: Motiv Jackal Carnage Solid Reactive 3000 Grit LSS Ball Specs: Asymmetric Predator Core Layout 50 x 4-7/8 x 35 (no balance hole) Bowler Specs: Right Hand. PAP 4-3/4 Over 1/2 up Rev Rate 300 Speed off hand 18 Review: The New Motiv Jackal Carnage provides a ton of hook and hits hard! The Carnage is right up there in total boards, or more with the latest Hook Monsters from the other brands. I have always loved the Predator Core and have had good luck with it going back to the Raptor P7. This new cover provides early hook with a strong backend and exceptional carry. I normally drill a pin up and a pin down on a new release to judge reactions and the Carnage really surprised me. There is always a nice difference in motion due to the layouts but the difference was huge for me on this ball. I don’t have a high Rev rate but I was 5-7 boards left with my feet throwing the Pin down Carnage compared to my pin up on fresh oil. The main difference I see between the Original Jackal and the Jackal Carnage is when they start to grab the lane. The Carnage is a few feet earlier which increases total hook but the surprise here is the ball does not quit. I can play up ten on a Sport Pattern and still not leave weak tens. The Jackal Carnage needs oil with the box finish. We have polished one here for kicks and it is cleaner through the front but still hooks a bunch. I think the polished Carnage looks great too! Another thing I have noticed about the new solid cover on the Carnage is it doesn’t seem to glaze up after bowling. I just hit it with some cleaner and a towel and it looks fresh as the box finish. This ball is on the top of the hook chart for Motiv and will not disappoint. The carnage looks great and is an easy recommendation to make for someone who needs a big hook ball. If you bowl in a flood, have a lower rev rate or fast speed you will love this ball. Summary: A ball that will hook with anything currently offered. Excellent hit, carry and drive through the pins. A must have for heavy oil. This is a great piece to have if you bowl on wet lanes or longer patterns. DESCRIPTION INNER CORE - Predator COVERSTOCK - Coercion FINISH - 3000 Grit LSS RG RATING - 2.46 (15 lbs) RG DIFFERENTIAL - .060 (15 lbs) MB DIFFERENTIAL - .015 (15 lbs) FLARE POTENTIAL - 7"+ REACTION The Jackal Carnage has a unique motion that allows it to be used on a wide variety of conditions. The aggressive Coercion coverstock provides control in the mid-lane read and continuation through the pins. The Motiv staffers at the WSOB primarily used the Carnage on the fresh for ALL FOUR animal patterns. With patterns ranging from 35'-47' in length, it shows just how versatile the Carnage truly is. COMPARISONS The Jackal Carnage sits alone at the top of the chart. This ball is stronger than everything else in the line. In my video I compared the Carnage to the Revolt Havoc, Primal Rage Remix, and the original Jackal. The Carnage was easily 5+ boards stronger than the original Jackal, Primal Rage Remix, and 7-8+ boards stronger than the Revolt Havoc. Motion wise, once again the Carnage sits alone. The original Jackal and Remix both read further down lane and respond faster to friction but provide less overall hook. The Havoc starts earlier than the Carnage and provides significantly less hook. The Carnage SUMMARY Right now I have two Jackal Carnage's. I have a pin down (75° x 4.5" x 75°), and a pin up (65° x 4.125" x 50°). The pin down Carnage is about 3-4 boards stronger than my pin up. It reads the lane a little earlier and still provides it's signature control and continuation. I have used them both on several different sport conditions (2013 USBC Masters pattern, 41' 1.5:1 ratio sport pattern, 35' Cheetah, 47' Scorpion). The Carnage does a great job of keeping you out of trouble on tighter patterns due to the control it provides. I usually prefer symmetrical cores but this ball is something different. If you want a ball that can read the lane in slop and be used on a WIDE variety of conditions, pick up a Jackal Carnage. Douglas Anderson MOTIV Staff

The Jackal Carnage provides a powerful motion with unparalleled control and continuation. It is an easy choice for bowlers that have high ball speed or low revs. Looking at Motiv’s ball chart, the Carnage sits on the heavy oily, smooth side as a high end asymmetrical. What I like about the ball however is its versatility because of the smooth motion. It really will fill a lot of places in your arsenal since this ball can be used on all kinds of lane patterns. Depending on your layout and surface prep, this ball will work on both long and shorter patterns with plenty of hitting power. This is a must for all tournament bowlers! Description: The Jackal Carnage is the newest release in the Jackal line. It uses the Predator core along with a new Coercion XFS reactive coverstock. This coverstock is at 3000 grit LSS out of the box. This asymmetric core has an RG of 2.46 and a diff of .060 for the 15lb version. Comments: The Jackal Carnage is designed to be used in heavy oil conditions. The Carnage is very strong and has more hook potential then the original Jackal. For me, the Carnages read the lane approx 5-10 feet earlier then the Jackal along with a much smoother motion into the pins. This ball provides more hook and control then the Jackal. I was able to stand about 7 boards left with my feet targeting a full zone left when using it compared to the Jackal. I can see this ball being my first option on fresh, heavy/longer tournament patterns. If you have a lower rev rate this ball will provide you the ability to play in the oil longer and not have to deal with the over/under of the friction. Summary: Motiv continues to produce some of the strongest hitting balls on the market. The lineup offers a variety of ball motions for all types of players. The Carnage reads the lane early, controls the zone, and finishes through the pins. It’s an excellent choice on higher volume patterns. Matt Rayner Motiv Staff

Layout: 75 x 5 ¾” x 35 If you’ve been waiting for something that has a few more teeth than the original Jackal, your patience is being rewarded in the form of the new Jackal Carnage. This beast matches the proven Predator core (2.46RG, .060Diff) found in the original Jackal with the all-new Coercion XFS solid coverstock. When I first removed this ball from the packaging it was already rolling left, literally hooking out of the box. I put a slightly weaker layout on mine to make it a bit more versatile for the lower volumes I see on a weekly basis; even with this influence I can still see the high strength of this ball. On the fresh I see the ball starting to read the lane just past the arrows, starting its ¾ of the ball flaring trying to find the friction. Once the ball finds (or even creates) a dry spot it goes into a very heavy roll; the breakpoint is ultra smooth and extremely controllable. This roll continues on through the pin deck with ease. I have found the most success with this having smaller laydown-crossing angles as a ball that hooks this early is not meant to loop the lane. My first set with the ball I shot 300-800 by playing out near the friction only covering two boards between my laydown and target at the arrows. If I missed in the ball would grab and tip just enough to carry light; if I missed a bit out the smoothness of the ball blended any ‘jump’ and kept me high-flush instead of through the face. Over all if you need something that will give you the utmost control of the heaviest of volumes without sacrificing power grab yourself a Jackal Carnage and get #OntheProwl. The Jackal Carnage is the latest release offered by MOTIV Bowling to conquer heavier oil patterns. This ball is a BEAST. I could leave this review with that word because there is really no ther way to describe this ball. But, it's my job to give you all the info I can on the Carnage so here it is.. The Carnage contains the same high diff Predator core found in the original Jackal. The cover stock however is a new Coercion XFS Solid Reactive which provides the teeth to cut through the heaviest of oil patterns. The Carnage is much earlier and a good arrow stronger than the pearl Jackal. I drilled my Carnage with the pin up and with no weight hole which is a pretty generic layout for me I like to use on many new balls. One center I bowl at has a major puddle of oil from 10 to 10 and the outsides are dry so I have trouble trying to blend that pattern out. I have shot 740 my first two weeks with the Carnage in this center. With some regionals coming up that are using longer patterns for a change, I am really looking forward to throwing the Carnage on these patterns. In summary, the Carnage provides early motion in oil and a strong continuous motion through the pins. Not only does the Carnage excel in heavy oil but it also helps blend wet/dry patterns.

Jackal Carnage #Ontheprowl Description: The Jackal Carnage is the second ball of the Jackal series with an all new coverstock, Coercion XFS Reactive. The inside however, utilizes the same successful Asymmetrical Predator Core that was found in the original Jackal and discontinued Raptor series. Reaction: I tend to really like asymmetrical pieces, especially with solid covers, so I was excited for this release...The Jackal Carnage is the most hook I've ever had in my hands. The only downfall I see in asymmetrical balls is they limit how deep I can play because they tend to get so forward when exiting the pattern, in which causes carry issues. The Jackal Carnage out of the box hooks very soon, but it does not stop when it's time to read the middle and back part of the lane. The continuation of this ball is unbelievable for having such a strong arcing motion. Layout #1 60X5.5X35 (Pin up) is straighter through the front and had a controlled change in direction. Still plenty strong and plenty early and the better choice for me on house patterns, although it still forced me to play pretty deep. Layout #2 45X5X65 P3 Hole (Pin down) started much sooner in the front and middle part of the lanes with a smoother arcing motion, but still again, very continuous. I can see this ball being utilized more on tougher patterns and actually opening them up a little when they are flatter without sacrificing carry. Comparisons: Everything else in my bag hooks less than the Jackal Carnage. To put it in perspective, even the original Jackal was 4-5 boards less than the Carnage. It also has more shape down lane than a Forza or Revolt Havoc, but the original Jackal still provides a faster response when encountering friction. I still also see a lot of use for my original Jackal though, as there will be times when the Jackal Carnage is just too early and too strong. With that, I can also say just as with all MOTIV pieces, the coverstocks are very adjustable. Summary: Overall, this ball is going to force you left of everything you have. It will allow you to still control the lane and provide a great motion through the pins resulting in very good carry. I think continuation has become MOTIV’s trademark shape. The New Jackal Carnage is so smooth and so continuous. This ball is great for those heavy oil conditions where you need control and great hitting power. This ball returns from every where and it never rolls out. The Carnage is earlier and stronger than the original Jackal. It can handle more oil and is much more continuous when drilled identical. For higher rev bowlers, raising the surface to 4000 abralon or adding polish will help the ball store more energy through the front of the lane. The new cover on this Jackal is spectacular and should be in everyone's bag for those medium to heavy oil condition!
