Motiv Blue Urethane Tank Bowling Ball

Microcell Polymer is back by overwhelming demand! MOTIV® is featuring this special cover technology along with the Halogen™ V2 core on the new Blue Tank™. This combination creates a ball that offers the most traction through the front of the lane in the history of MCP. The added traction and strength found in the Blue Tank™ allows for bowlers to benefit from a controlled, urethane-like shape on higher volumes of oil than traditional urethane allows. MOTIV® invested a massive amount of research and development to engineer this new MCP (Microcell Polymer) shell and is excited to introduce Frixion™ M3 (Mark 3) Pearl. It is designed specifically for use when traditional urethane covers are not quite strong or continuous enough. It provides the Blue Tank™ with added traction in the front portion of the lane, displaying a more traditional urethane ball motion. The Halogen™ V2 core was chosen for the Blue Tank™ to help provide more traction in the oil than the very low differential cores often used in traditional urethane balls. It has a high RG yet enough differential to produce more flare when strong layouts are used. It can also be drilled with a low flare layout like many traditional urethane balls. This versatility is what makes the Halogen™ V2 core perfect for the Blue Tank™. When To Use: Speed Dominant: On very short oil patterns and when there is significant wet/dry in a pattern, speed dominant players will use the Blue Tank from straighter angles to control the pocket without giving away hitting power. Typically, speed dominant bowlers are unable to use urethane options, but as MCP covers have proven in the past, Microcell is an option for speed dominant players when urethane often is not. Added traction and strength found in Microcell shells allows for speed dominant players to benefit from the control other bowlers find in urethane. Balanced Bowlers: Urethane and low absorption coverstocks have become a necessity for nearly all bowlers who compete on wet/dry patterns and sport conditions over the course of the last decade. Balanced bowlers are now expected to use urethane often times when the pattern demands it. The Blue Tank provides greater control down lane than modern urethane and more traction in the front of the lane. This allows balanced bowlers to be more assertive with ball speed and roll choices and should let those bowlers use urethane for a longer period of time during a block. Rev Dominant Bowlers: Rev dominant bowlers often struggle with being forced to open their angles too steep early on in the development of an oil pattern. The results are normally less than ideal as control is sacrificed and the bowler is unable to play the pattern as it is intended. The Blue Tank allows for those shallow angles for rev dominant players on demanding patterns. Additionally, due to the strength of the MCP Frixion M3 shell, Rev Dominant players will be able to use the Blue Tank when “urethane isn’t in play” according to other bowlers.

Core: Halogen V2 Type: Symmetrical Coverstock: Frixion M3 Pearl MCP Box Finish: 1000 Video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/efitstBZxPw Layout: 45 x 4 ½ x 70 Strengths The Frixion M3 Pearl MCP coverstock was created when urethane coverstocks are not strong or continuous enough. Blue Tank has more length than all other Tank weaponry, in terms of overall hook it fits between Desert and Covert Tank. Blue Tank offers a bigger backend reaction to that of Purple and Desert. Weaknesses I used Blue Tank on the Shark Pattern and managed to be successful however that was due to manipulating my ball motion, I could see that the coverstock was not meant to handle heavier patterns. Legacy, Flare, Uprising, Odyssey are far better options combating heavier patterns. Overall Summary On the fresh my reaction with Blue Tank was great, I played more right than I was when using Tank Blitz and it was cleaner to that of Covert Tank. I like using Blue Tank to blend a pattern instead of carving it with Forge Flare or Trident Odyssey, in terms of blending the pattern Blue Tank blends and is smoother at the breakpoint to that of the Venoms and Supra Enzo. You will find Blue Tank ideal for when you want more ball motion than what Purple Tank is offering you on medium conditions and flatter conditions, reasonable for keeping your angels in front of you. Add some Blue to your bag and make your opponent blue. Your game will thank you for it . K.C. White II Motiv Staff IAMBowling Staff

Microcell Polymer, Microcell Polymer babe! Listen I have had my Struggles with traditional Urethane, and this ball has been the answer to all my prayers lol. This ball is special! Have you ever been bowling on a sport pattern and they say "it's time to get out of urethane"? Well I don't have that problem when using this blue beast. I can open my angles, and don't have to worry if this beauty has enough to get back to the 1-3 pocket. Motiv Motiv Motiv!!

Layout 65 x 5" x 35 Microcell Polymer is back and in its strongest form yet. The MOTIV Blue Tank continues the tradition of the MCP line by providing smooth, urethane-like motion while also providing a more resin-like forgiveness at the breakpoint. The Blue Tank finds its best footing by creating an early, strong motion in the oil for games in the earlier blocks. To help tame down the sheer power of the MCP + Frixion M3 coverstock, they wrapped it around the taller Halogen V2 core (2.59 RG, .023 Diff) to provide a bit more push. Out of the box the ball looked like it would be an oil beast, but I was further surprised the moment I put it to the lanes to see how versatile it is. When I laid out my Blue Tank, I was hoping that it would be a beefier Tank Blitz, but not too close to it as to make it redundant, and I got just that. After wearing off the new-ball dust (taking three off the left several times), I could see this cover/core combination working well together to provide traction in oil but save just enough energy to make a great continuous motion through to the pit. On my typical league night, I can start with this ball crossing a solid arrow further left than with my Tank Blitz, or just a board or two right of the Trident Odyssey, and keep with it through the first game. Once the transition hits, I need to switch down to the cleaner, but still strong, Mythic Jackal to get into a ball that will tip back from greater angles but still have good overall strength. Where I find the Blue Tank at its best is when the lanes are slick, the pattern is short to medium in length, the midlane and backends need to be controlled, and resin is a bit too finnicky in its reaction consistency. I love the reaction all my MCP equipment has given me, and this ball is shooting straight towards the top of the list for me. Strength, control, consistency, and power that has the forgiveness of reactive while being able to play urethane-like lines. The Blue Tank can be a strong staple of any arsenal.
