MoRich Minotaur Bowling Ball

(6 reviews) Write a Review

Has a rounded, notched core which produces a later, sharper backend reaction. And the enhanced friction of it GriPpeR EF coverstock increases the total overall hook. So now you can attack the pins with a later and sharper break point. The pocket is yours for the taking.

i have used this ball for 1+years on 2 different houses. this ball has a very predictable roll and hit your mark its gonna do the same thing. i use it on heavy oil(little slower ball speed) and still moves towards the pocket. light oil the same. i've used many differnt balls but this ball is the best so far. i was a mid 180 average bowler but with this ball i have an 195 on thursdays(very heavy oil) and a 202 on sat(medium heavy).i would like to find another one as a backup just in case(ebay).<s

I waited almost 50 games to rate this ball. I had it polished too high to get a good read on the ball. Sanded with 600 grit and seemed to do the trick. Ball still gets through the heads and releases the energy a little earlier but still maintains its hitting power. Don't try anything exotic with this ball. Stay true to the drill sheet, typical of Mo balls. You get what you drill. I use this ball on medium to heavy oil. It gets down the lane and cuts through the oil well. Doesn't over under like many balls for me. It does just what my hand tells it too.

I know exactly what this ball will do after only a couple of shots. After I get lined up, I know exactly where the ball will go off my hand. The predictable nature of this ball is its best feature. The carry is good but not spectactular. I find this ball holds the line very well. As the night goes on only small adjustments are required. This is a must for me or the ball doesn't stay in the "A" bag. I left the shell in box condition which is quite dull. Because of the aggresive nature of the cover, the Minotaur just can't handle a dry condition at all. You have to have a different ball for the drier conditions. My minotaur is 16 lbs with a three inch pin. The pin is about an inch right of my ring finger with the mass bias stacked beneath it. A large weight hole was required. I like this ball a lot when there is oil!!!!!

Over all this is a great ball. Tracks up a lot quick than my ebonite equipment so I will have to keep an eye on it. Used the control drilling for low tracks, and it does what the drill sheet says, controlable arc. The only problem I have is that I can not change may hand position to change the reaction of the ball, like coming out of the side or coming up the back of the ball. If you change the PAP the ball seems not to react well. Like another reviewer, I believe this is due to the asymetrical core, but I can get use to that.

Even with a 14lb ball the carry and pin action is wonderful. It revs up real nicely in the back end and doesn't flare much at all giving it a nice overall arcing hook. Using a stroker release I had very good results with this ball. Isn't the type of ball that will create a huge overall hook but for those who don't need one this is quite a nice ball to look into. Down sides of it, the hook is very unpredictable. I'm not a fan generally of non-symetrical cores, and this is a perfect example of why. I realized even when my axis was off by quarter of an inch or so the balls reaction would change dramatically. I'm sure this doesn't matter to most people, but the first thing I noticed about this ball is how horribly ugly it is. Who at MoRich thought "Lets make a bright purple ball, with... um... Brown-ish marking, and we'll use this poorly drawn picture of a Minotaur done by my son and make a ball with it!"

Our supplier was nice enough to supply us with one of these balls. After receiving the ball, Chris spoke with Mo Pinel about the way I threw the ball and what reaction I liked, and Mo said to use a specific drilling from the drill sheet and I would have that ball. Chris laid it out according to Mo, and I punched it out. I was shocked at how well this ball reacted. It was a perfect fit into my game. I used this ball for about 30 games and it was great on almost anything that I came across. Since I polished it, it wasn't strong enough for heavy oil, but I am sure that if I would have scuffed the ball, I would not have had a problem playing in the heavy oil with this ball. I got rid of this ball when I made my switch to all Ebonite for myself, so I didn't really find a lot of weakness with this ball. I give it an 8, because I think that a lot of pro shops will ignore the drill sheet, since most sheets aren't much help, and the bowler will suffer because they didn't get the b
