Purchased ball from a ballreviews.com member, had ball drilled by Mike Miller at 10 Pins and More in Rio Rancho, NM on October 11, 2007. Ball came 15lbs 3 oz with a 3" pin and 3 1/4 oz of TW. Ball was laid-out with the pin just right of the ring finger(stacked) with a small weight hole on the mid-plane. Ball is very smooth through the front and starts to transition hard through the midlane and backend, it is alot smoother than the NS2(heavier particle load). Ball was thrown in two different houses one is newer synthetics oiled 38' and buffed out to 45' with OB outside 5, the other house was basically just a wall the ball would lay in the pocket if placed 5 board on out to the gutter. Overall a good ball for the former than the latter.

I think this ball is the most versatile ball in my bag. It carries extremely well and helps me when I need to play inside and cross some boards. Or if I just want to play straight with a good amount of oil in the heads with medium backends. Sometimes the reaction is unpredictable you might have gone flush solid one shot,Then the ball might hit a dry spot and I usually feel I made a good enough shot for that not to happen. Also I need to keep my release consitent to what I am doing if I accentely over hit it I am in trouble. I think that any bowler should look at this ball for a variety of conditions and situations and see how many diffrent reactions they can get out of it. I do not think this is a good ball to play down and in no matter how much hand you have or can put into or take out of the ball.

Talked to a tech at Legends and he recommended me the New Standard for long oil patterns and carry down. He suggested to move the CG under the ring finger. Love the way this ball moves down the lane and turns hard into the pocket. When it hits it is loud. After bout a month rolled a perfect game with it. Legends and Lane Masters have great balls for a good price. And you can talk to there tech support and they would suggest a ball for you. Tell them your style, ball speed and revs, and what ypur looking for. They would also give you a lay out on how to try it.

GrimRipper
Ball reacts like a urathane ball but hits like a truck. The control is something I've been looking for since the invent of High Performance balls and this is it. No over-under with this ball. If your a ripper and are a high risk-reward player then leave the risk and reap the rewards. It is the New Standard. Driilled, Placed pin 1 in above fingers in center 5" from PAP: the CG 1/2 in right of center in palm of hand. Also called "stacked". If you like the reaction of a urathane" that nice smooth predictable roll to the pocket " you'll love this drilling and this ball. I've only bowled twice with this ball so far and I think it's the best ball I've ever thrown and both were tournaments which I cashed in both. Shooting 2175 for 9 games. I'm sold on these guys. I'll be trying more of their products soon.

THIS BALL IS PURE POWER. I DRILLED ONE UP WITH THE PIN BELOW THE RING FINGER ABOUT 3.5 INCHES TO PAP WITH THE MB KICK OUT IN A STRONG POSITION. I ALSO SANDED THIS WITH 400 GRIT SAND PAPER. THIS BALL SURE DOES CARRY WITH A PIN CRUSHING SOUND WHEN IT HITS THOSE PINS. THIS BALL ROLES GREAT THROUGH THE MID LANE.WITH STRONG ARCING MOVEMENT, AND ENDS WITH GREAT HITTING POWER. I DID ALTER THE SURFACE FOR THOSE HOUSES THAT PUT A LOT OF OIL ON THE LANE. A PERSON DOES NEED OF PUT AWAY WHEN THE LANES START TO DRY OUT. LIKE ANY HEAVY OIL BALL. THE THINGS YOU GET WITH THE BALL IS GREAT TOO. A PERSON GETS A BALL CUP, POLISH, CLEANER, 400 PAPER,AND 800 PAPER. LEGENDS DOES IT RIGHT FIVE STAR PRO SHOP<sc

I've seen people use both the YEAH BABY and the NEW STANDARD and I had to try one. I chose the NS! The day I received it I took it to league and used it for the last game. I prefer throwing OUTSIDE/IN .. that's a NO/NO with this ball .. you must play INSIDE/OUT. My experimenting in this game didn't produce a great score (team won any way) but I did learn where to throw the ball. Next day I go to league where the lanes are light/dry. I again take the NS for a TEST! Although I had some great shots I would NOT recommend the ball for this condition. I could not get consistency .. I don't mind using the inside shot but that's not my best position. When it came time to adjust I'm not sure I do it RIGHT! On th MED/HVY condition the ball seems to be AT IT'S BEST! I do have other equipment for those conditions .. but I THINK the NS will out do the others. THE HIT IS BETTER THEN THE DIAMOND CORE BALLS! ON EDIT: I've had a chance to use this ball more often. I've stayed with the MED/HVY

I bought this ball from Buddies Pro Shop.com and they did a great job setting this ball up to work with my other equipment. This is the first Lane Masters Ball I have tried and it does the job. Excellent strong midlane roll for a condition with oil. It performed very well in the one wood house that I bowled where I was having a lot of over/under problems. I was able to move inside between the second and third arrows with this ball and get away from the early hook out. NO other ball that I have gave me this reaction. When you need a ball for oil, look no further than the New Standard.<scr

Lane Masters sent us a couple of these balls to test and get our feedback. After drilling them up for myself and a couple other shop guys, we all agree that this is Lane Masters biggest hooking ball to date. I will tell you how I tested mine. The ball was laid out with the Pin 4 1/2" from my axis and the CG 4 1/2" from my axis. I did not need a weight hole in the ball. The first shot I tested this ball on was a 40 foot sport shot pattern with a lot of oil in the middle. The outsides were too dry for me to keep the ball from going brooklyn, so I move into 4th arrow and was able to play 5-7 boards belly. The ball would start to make its move in the midlane and continue through the pocket, with the hard hitting power of all LaneMasters bowling balls. I also tested this ball on our 38 foot house shot, which is pretty walled up. I was able to move even deeper inside and swing the ball out to about 5 and get the ball back without a problem. This ball features Diamond Partic

Drilled MB on center line, pin 4 7/8" to PAP with cg below centerline. I haven't put a weighthole in the thumb/pos quandrant (it's still legal) yet because I wanted to see the reaction first and make any adjustments from there. The ball gets down the lane very smoothly and when it hits the breakpoint there is no overreaction, just a nice even arc to the pocket. On a few shots I thought if this ball was a bus, I just mangled a bunch of pins, which meant I carried some shots that weren't meant to be strikes.
