I purchased my AP2 from Buddies Pro Shop-Great prices & fantastic service! with a 4 inch pin & 3.5 top, I drilled my AP2 with the pin over the ring finger & a 5 by 4.5 layout; cg at 5:30. On a freshly oiled lane, the AP2 easily went through the heads with excellent midlane transition into a heavy sharp rolling hook. I did fire a couple of shots with too much speed and the AP2 could not corner back from the OB region, but with proper surface condition ( Scotchbrite pads are enclosed with each ball) the AP2 is a skid flip monster! The super carbon particle has a diffrent feel & texture compared to standard particle balls, and it retains more energy & backend than my Vapor Zone! Overall, a great ball for medium to oily lanes with tremendous hook & carry power.

First of all, hats off to Lane Masters for providing materials to fine-tune the coverstock with the ball. This is great forward thinking and is greatly appreciated! Ball is drilled 45 degrees, pin 4" from PAP, small weight hole on the PAP. This drilling is very controllable. On a drier shot, it'll feel like it's not finishing strong. If you shine it up, it gets a little more length and is more angular on the back-end. I mostly bowl drier lanes and second shift leagues. Initially, I shined this ball up and it still just hooked too much on those conditions. On a heavier oil tournament shot, i was able to bring the coverstock back to "in-box condition" (which is a sheen created by the grey scuff pad that came with the ball) and it performed great. The ball makes a very strong and controllable movement at the break-point. As the lanes break-down, I move left and play the same break-point and continue to hit the pocket. A number of times, I've sent the ball too wide into th

This ball covers more boards than anything I've ever owned or thrown. The great thing about it is that even after swinging it out from the inside to the outside, this ball charges towards the pocket without buring up all its' energy before it gets there. I am in the process of learning to play the inside shot, and after 17 years of playing outside lines, this ball has given me the confidence to play inside, swing it to the outside, and know for sure that the ball can, and WILL turn back towards the pocket. What a hooking machine this ball is. This is my first particle ball, and it leaves me trying to figure out why it took me so long.

This ball as previously stated, is designed for medium to heavy oil. Not long heavy oil patterns. Typically if a lane is tight, you have to move your break point inside or closer to the head pin and this is especially true if you did not have much axis tilt. Try playing the lane with a tighter line. Like 15 to 13 and you will probably have a much better look at what the ball will do. Good Luck, I love this ball and have already shot multiple honor scores. However, I have not used it on any long and heavy oil patterns.

Well I have a new standard and a yeah baby. I love the new standard it is a great ball. The yeah baby on the other hand should only be used for dry lanes. I got the AP2 because I talked to the guys over at legends and they said it was the ball they felt was best for my game(I wanted a NS2 but was talked out of it). Well after having problems getting the bowl it came in and I couldn't wait to throw it. The first night the ball work great. I never seen a ball hook so much without warning. It was great. That was ont med-heavy oil and I was throwing 25-6 without a problem. Then I went to a heavy oil house and I had to slow down to 16 mph which for me is like crawling and it did nothing. I had to move right and throw 11-7 and then the ball worked great but I don't want a down and in ball. I have tons of those. I do like lane masters and legends but this ball was a dissappointment.

The house I bowl in got a new lane machine. They started putting down more oil than everyone was used to and everyone was complaining about how tight the lanes were...I got an AP2 and the tight lanes were no longer a problem. To bowl with this ball is to have fun. When everyone is fighting the tight conditions, I had everything I could want. Hard hooking ball with great carry. Pin action that will have everyone walking over to see what you are throwing. This is the greatest ball for oil I have ever seen. To own one means you will look forward to tight lanes as they are no longer going to be a problem.
