This is an extremely flexible ball. I can play straight up the second arrow or swing it out and play deep. It carries the ten pin as well as any other ball I've played. It is a reactive resin ball, but it acts a lot like an old urethane hammer, except it hits harder. I've thrown a lot of hammers over the years. The old Blue Reactive Hammer had a similar design (reactive coverstock, trusted hammer core) but it is a much different ball. I polished the ball to help fill a gap in my equipment. I tend to go to this ball late in the second shift but I could choose to play it all night. The ball is easy to control and I recommend it to anyone who longs for the predictability of a urethane with the hitting power of reactive resin.<scrip

320 RPMs of the hand and 18 mph of the hand have the "High RG-Lenght layout" small flair potenchal and maxium lenght. Ball works great when playing up the boards creating a very smoth arc. When I tried moving left and putting more side roll on the ball, the ball still created a smooth controlable arc. This ball isn't to forgiving if you miss right (right handed) but will usally hold if you tug it (miss left) a board or two. This ball is great for burnt up sport shots or tornements shots, b/c it doesn't take off on you, even if you have alot of hand.

Update (02/22/05): Shot 772 in the doubles portion of my city tournament and the only time I didn't strike was when I made a bad shot. It's finally mellowed and is rolling like I hoped. Hits and hooks like a new generation version of the classic line. Get one. Update: I'm still not sure if it's the lanes, the ball/bowler matchup, or my release. This ball wants to check up sooner than I thought. It does carry well. Drilling: Axis weight, like the way Bill described (wet-dry, low flare setup). In my 15 or so games with this ball I have found that this ball is stronger then my current urethane line-up (Blue Hammer and Wine Ultimate Weapon). It is really a reactive ball and even says so on the box lable. However, it is controllable and I have been told by Brian Graham, Hammer Product Mananger, that the ball needs to suck up some oil and mellow out. The reaction should resemble the old Faball Burgandy Hammer. The house I usually shoot doesn't run enough out lengthwise for me to rea

Ball works great with good pin carry . Lane condition oil 40" good back ends Med to Lite out side 10 playing a swing shot across 13 board. First night 223,245,278. Really works like the old Hammer just keep it clean and watch it work. Nothing hits like a Hammer. Ball works great with good pin carry . threw this ball in a pro shop demo and was the most versatile ball i used. send up the 5 board, strike. play the track, strike. move in and send out to 5, comes back and stirikes! if you want to play up the outside like the lefties do, get ya one. threw 6 in a row up the ditch, awesome! only thing i didn't like was the name and the label on the ball. just call it THE HAMMER. this ball is the original w/ better length and energy retention. oh, better have a towel handy to wipe off the oil, it doesn't soak in like a reactive. noticed one review only gave it 7 pins, bull! use it for the condition it was designed for and you'll give 10 pins every time

I drilled this one up, old school Axis Weight. Wanted to see how close this ball was to the old. I threw this on a house shot and found the Pure Hammer to be a smooth arcing ball just like the old. I think that this is the closest thing to the old Faball Urethane that you will find in today's game. I was able to play a variety of lines and get the ball back to the pocket. This ball will give you that smooth rolling reaction of old. If you want to use this ball, I would recommend picking up and Ebonite Oil Free Towel to keep the surface of the ball clean. On the heavier oil shots, the ball does not soak up the oil extremely fast, like today's reactive/particle balls. This ball is old school at its best. Most of the other urethane balls that have hit the market in the last year or so have been pearl, now you can pick up a Dull Urethane ball for those burnt lane conditions. The ball takes surface adjust, like any other urethane ball. Any questions, please email me Bill@Bud

WE DRILLED THIS ONE FOR ONE OF OUR GOOD CUSTOMERS. WE STACKED IT. HE HAS A VERY SLOW BALL SPEED AND DOES GET ON IT PRETTY GOOD. THE LANES HADN'T BEEN OILED YET AND THE LANES HAD SIGNIFICANT CARRYDOWN. BECAUSE OF THIS, HE GOT CONSIDERABLE HOOK STOP, HOWEVER, YOU COULD DEFINITELY TELL THAT THIS BALL WILL NOT WORK ON OIL, BUT WILL BE VERY SUCCESSFUL ON DRIER LANE CONDITIONS. WHEN HE SQUARED UP AND PLAYED STARIGHT, THE BALL WAS EXCELLENT, WHEN HE TRIED TO CHASE THE OIL IN A LITTLE, THE BALL WOULD NOT MAKE IT. WE ENDED UP POLISHING THIS ONE AND IT POLISHES VERY WELL, WILL POST A FURTHER REVIEW WHEN MORE INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE.
