I love this ball. I've thrown it on a few kinds of lane conditions. I've got it drilled for Low RG Roll - Layout Pin 2" from the PAP. Small flare potential. Early roll and smooth ball motion. I've found it works best not to overpower the ball, just throw it easy and snap your fingers out and it moves plenty. My typical league shot follows a women's league who throw mostly plastic balls that carry alot of oil down the lane. The lanes are a full synthetic with a dirty backend and I usually don't have too much adjustment until the beginning of the third game.

Leverage Drill Pattern Pin 3 - 3/8" from PAP Maximum flare potential for medium rev players I bought this ball to be a heavy oil condition ball. I found that it works best on medium oil shots. Works on "crowned" house shots or other heavier oil patterns, before carrydown occurs. In carrydown, the ball just skids through its break point and doesn't have the "snap" to finish strong once clearing the carrydown. When I start out shooting over 12 to 15 and out to about 5, I find myself having to continually move my body and mark to the right to keep missing carrydown and inevidably always end up shooting up the seven or eight board out to about the 3 board at 39ft. If the oil pattern is longer, the Hawg doesn't have the snap to make it back to the pocket from that far out, so I have to get out a polished reactive with a skid-snap reaction. I bowl in a PBA oil pattern league, so I've been able to test it on all the different PBA patterns, but, like I said, its good until carrydow

Wonderfull ball, glad I didn't get the hawg wild, that ball reminds me of the big blue pearl. Hawg hits. I polished the ball to go long and turn the corner and it performs. I throw it 16 to 16.5 miles per hour off of the 5 board, and its all over. The further I move left the less control I have of the ball, same with the Big Blue pearl. This ball gets 5 stars, with the Hawg, Biblue pearl and a spare ball, I can conquer any oil conditions. Dry lanes is a different story, and a different brand.<

Lane Conditions:Heavy Oil Typical Conditions:House Type of Lane: Combination What part of the lane did you play?DEEP DEEP inside track Did the ball track out? Normal Weight of bowling ball: 15 Surface of bowling ball: Factory/Box Likes: The ball rolled great in the heaviest of heavy oil. Dislikes: None: I bought this ball and had it drilled with the first layout for max hook.It had a 2 1/4 top weight, with a pin of 2 3/8.This ball is awesome,I have a Razor and a Speed Zone, this ball kills both.I have been bowling in a house that was very difficult for me,cause I don't have the revs that some have, but with this ball I had NO problem. It's hitting power was as much as I have ever bowled with or seen.I actually felt sorry for the pins,my only regret is that I didn't purchase it sooner. NOTHING HITS LIKE A HAMMER!!!!!!!!!!

I really think this will be an excellent ball for heavy oil patterns. The ball finished great on the backend. It is a great ball product for Hammer. This new line with the Hawg should allow bowlers that need a lot more hook in oil to really have some fun throwing this ball. The Hawg seem to have a nice consent roll on it to the pocket. I find it easy to read what the ball will do. I don't crank the ball. I am more like a tweener. But I can enjoy playing the majority of the lane with this ball.<s

I tested 3 of the Hammer Hawg. I drilled one with the Pin 3 1/2 and the CG 4 inches from my PAP (Positive Axis Point). I found this ball to hook too early on most of the shots that I bowled on. I drilled the next ball with the pin 4 inches and the Cg 4 inches from my PAP (Positive Axis Point). I found this ball to get down the lane a little further, but still too early for most conditions, and be burnt up at the pocket. The 3rd ball I put the pin 5 inches and the cg 4 1/2 inches from my PAP (Positive Axis Point). With this layout the ball made it further down the lane. The ball saved more energy and made a strong move down the lane. After talking to Brian Graham at Hammer, he suggested that I needed to keep the pin further away from my axis with the stronger coverstock and core. This ball will be its best, on the medium-heavier oil patterns. Also, as I learned keep the pins in a medium RG to high RG position for optimum performance. Any questions, please em

Used ball on a 43 ft. sport pattern right out of the box.Ball hooked when others weren't, exception was one guy used an old visionary gargoyle. I was able to play the 3rd arrow and ball made a nice bend into and through the pocket carrying all pins into the pit. Had to move to 4th arrow the 3rd game to pick up enough oil, from there the ball appeared to go straight, but on it's move into the pocket it evidently hooked through as I never saw even a late 5,7, or 10 pin going down. Used the ball on a shorter medium house pattern and had to really swing it out there, like from 20 and out, huge swing. The ball came roaring back, appeared to hook twice, at the midlanes it started a nice arc then as it hit the backends it made it very very strong arc close to a flip. I am a tweener with pretty good speed (17-20mph) off the hand and I never had to slow it down on either pattern so far. Great ball for my arsenal as I needed an oil ball and looks like I found one. Will see how it holds up and pos
