Ebonite has a way of making balls like the Big One that Have the most aggressive of covers, but have a weak block. The V2 line is not like that. After the COVER WEARS OUT!!!!! The ball tames down and becomes more consistent. If you are a High Rev player, use the ball in practice any chance you get to wear the cover out. Try to STAY AWAY from the V2 Clean, as you will not get a "clean" reaction out of it. I find that the ball likes to be rolled more than it likes axis tilt or more angle off of you hand. As with all pklayers, you probably don't roll the ball the same way as i do, so the ball will react differently for you. But PLEASE, take my advise, and WEAR OUT THE COVER. The blosc is strong, and will drive for ever!!!

I went to a hammer demo day and liked the Big Blue pearl for the most part, but it seemed to roll a little too early for my liking so I talked to the Hammer/Ebonite guy and he said the V2 Sweet was a similar ball, but it would provide more skidding through the heads. I got the ball on sale and tried it out during league one night. First game was great, threw the ball easy nice skid then transition to the roll. The second and third games invovled too many adjustments and changes. The oil gets carried down and the ball was rolling then skidding and couldn't find a good break point. For fresh lanes and ones with a more static oil pattern this ball is phenominal. With only about 50 games on it the ball cracked while sitting in the house... for more info on that read the Ebonite Obsession review I wrote.

They say this ball is for med oil? Hell I was throwing this ball in med to heavy oil, and it would hit like a damn truck. When I first threw it, I was sticking some major 10 pins, with a slight adj I got it to work. I played the out side 15 boards at first, and yes, I throw it there and it worked. Everyboard was a shot I could play. I could even move in to the 4th arrow and get it to come raging back to the pocket. This is the best in the Vortex Line. By far. Now I ramble on for a few minutes till I get my hundred words for the damn post.<scri

Awesome. That would be my review if i didnt have to write 100 words minimum. I use the V2 Sweet as my strike ball and i get great action and results with it. I had never had an 800 (4 games) in my life and i threw 4 in 6 weeks when i got this ball. I use it for all but the 4,6,7 and 10. I get lots of pin action, which some times upsets my opposition when i get a corny strike. One thing about this ball i have noticed that it does and my others dont, is that it throws the pins into the air. They dont stay low, most shots that arent strikes it will put a pin in the air which comes down and most times takes out some of the remaining pins. Eg: Last weekend i spared the 1, 5, 10. Something i have never left. The 1 deflected up off the 5 and got the 10... from above. This ball has pin action to the extreme. Awesome!

The V2 Sweet is the main ball in my arsenal. It has a basic 1:30 pin, label drilling for a medium hook and nice arc backend. The hitting power of this ball in this drilling is excellent. It only drives too hard when the lanes are totally "burnt". Otherwise, it is very consistent and very forgiving. I have 6 bowling balls, and this one is the easiest and most predictable to throw. As long as the lanes are not too dry, I hardly ever leave 10 pins or any single pins due to the pin action it creates. Even if I miss the mark a little and the ball hits soft, it still creates enough pin action to get the job done. It is for medium to heavy oil with this drilling and I am able to throw out to the #2 arrow and it hooks in nicely. I can stay at that target most of the night on most occasions. You can barely find an oil ring on the ball as it always seems to keep its reactive surface through the night, as long as you clean it after every use as is always recommended. I highly recommen

ball drilled 3 3/8 cg kicked out right balance hole is needed very easy to control. does never ever overreact some times its underreacting. but thats only if jou play it wrong. its not made for deep lines even if it is polished, when it is dry lanes yiu dont need to play deep lines with this ball. just keep youre speed and revs up. overall a very nice ball. whit this ball you have to play with the lanes not against them. will only give you some reactions you cant control easy. i think this ball will be for players with high revs rate and at least med speed. (what ever you mean whit med speed)

I wanted to be optimistic in this review, but I cannot. This ball was a disappointment. I purchased two of them after watching the locals throw the V2 Sanded and rip the rack. It was rumored to be even better. NOT!! My son complained that his Sweet was not performing either. If you like the Ebonite V2 series, stick with the origional V2. It is a beast and hard to beat. The Sweet is just average. All companies have equipment that are average rated. I cannot justify putting this much money into a ball that should deliver ABOVE average performance. Ebonite has better bowling balls to offer at a Sweeter price.

I bought this ball at a demo day a while back. I had a hard time choosing between this, and the Switch Blade, but I think it was the color that made me buy this. Overall this is a great ball, if you have oil. On medium oil the Sweet works like a charm, but when the lanes start to dry up it over reacts, alot. It simply blows the pins away when it hits, and I can't remember when it left a ten pin. But I can't seem to be able to play inside out too much. It dies out on me, and when it hits the pocket, it leaves funny holes like 2-4-8-6-10 (do that if you can ;) ) That ofcourse is because of the drilling it has (more length, less backend action). It isn't an excellent ball, but not a poor one either. On medium lanes, and sometimes on heavier it rules the lanes, but there's just something about it that I dislike. I'll let you know if I figure it out

I bought this ball from my pro shop guy and was a little nervous about switching my equipment ,I was used to brunswick and had never had ebonite before ,I really loved the way it hits the pins and keeps them low ,this thing just rolls out so nice with a smooth arc to the pocket . I know when it comes off my hand and I hit my mark it is a strike, it very rarely leaves corner pins , and if it does it is usually my fault . I use this ball more than any in my arsenal except on oily lanes ,it doesn't like alot of oil.

Great ball. Drilled stack with a 1/2 in kick out, made to get down the lane and finish very clean. great hitting power and really sends pins flying all over the place. Very smooth and very controllable, and great on tough lanes. It really holds well on the wet dry shot. Gets down the lane very well and moves very well and very consistant on the back end. Another good ball from Ebonite Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall Stall

you might want to have this ball drill for shorter length, also dulling the coverstock a tad took out the over/under for me also this ball core is VERY center heavy (found it hard to hold the ball if i adjust my index finger in) this ball also likes speed, once it hits the dry it turns no matter what. the ball has a Very strong backend I had the ball drill standard ebonite length backend 10 pattern next time I'll have it drill for less backend. this is my first ebonite ball I use to be a brunswick Zone/Monster fan. but I think I could stick with ebonite for a while

This ball can certainly be described as "SWEET." When the lane conditons call for a medium oil ball I pull out the Sweet. This ball is so veratile that a bowler could probably have this ball drilled for ALMOST any conditon, I have mine set up with a standard label drilling. The reaction I get from this ball is absolutley perfect, ( a little less than my Primal Instinct, but a little more than my Ice ) allowing me to perfectly adjust my game, one way or the other, based on lane conditons. I would recomend this ball to anyone who is looking for a solid medium oil ball that consistantly carries and absolutely crushes the pocket.

I just purchased the Ebonite V2 Sweet about a month ago and I think it's an awesome ball. I usually seem to have problems with my balls breaking too much in the backend once the lanes start to dry up, but not with this ball. I just move to the left a few boards and put a little more speed on the ball, and it does just what I want it to do. I have highly increased my average over the past month with this ball. I wouldn't recommend this ball for heavier oil, especially if you have alot of ball speed.

I bought this ball after observing other in the center throwing this ball. The ball will start going into a roll, even in the slosh in the center of the lane. It will flip more in the drier parts of the lane, when it is tossed wide, but not with the excessive reaction most balls today will give you. The best thing I love about this ball, is that it keeps the pins low on the deck. This creates better a better carry percentage, than pins flying up over each other. I have used this ball on fresh conditions, as well as on day old carrydown, and don't have any problems finding a line I could play consistently. For me, this ball prefers to be started in the heavy oil, and thrown out into the track area, not necessarliy the dry area. Overall, this is a very good ball, and even better as its not a top dolllar ball.

I threw the V2 Sweet this past Saturday at a Demo Day and was extremely pleased with both the ball and the staff. I explained my overreaction issues on my house condition and District Sales Manager John Gaines got me to stop overanalyzing and relax. My current high-end arsenal includes all four of the original weight block Hammer Diesels. It appears that I'm loading up too hard and cranking when I shouldn't. I took the Sweet and shot my usual form with a five board move right with a 25-5 swing. Every good release yielded strikes. When using the softer form I could play anywhere from 20-10 or 5 with great results also. The lower differential may suit may cranker game well and I know I need the length the Sweet gives. The staffers also gave me advice about surface adjustments. Go to a Demo Day and encourage you centers to host on if you can. I threw a Strong/R as well but it burned up too soon for my bowling style.

I laid this ball out the same as my Awesome Impact. I put the Pin and CG 4 1/2 inches from my PAP. I put the pin 2 inches off my grip line and the CG was in the thumb quadrant. I buried my thumb hole to get out the excess thumb weight. I always say don't have expectations when drilling a bowling ball or you will be disappointed. I was expecting the V2 Pearl relived. This is not the same ball for me. The V2 Sweet had more length than my original V2 Pearl, but had the very familiar roll pattern of the other V2's with the same core. I found the V2 Sweet to have a very similiar reaction to the Awesome Impact, but the V2 Sweet made a smoother arcing motion to the pocket. On our higher volume house shot, I was able to play the oil line and bounce the ball off the dry for the first game shooting 260 with the ball. After the lanes started to dry up, I made the change to a different ball. If you like the V2 series, you can not go wrong with this ball. You have have the famil

I have never had a Ebonite ball until this one, and what a way to start out. I love this ball. It has an awesome reaction, and some sweet roll. This ball looks really good going down the lane, and also looks good crushing the pocket. (But what ball doesn't). This ball is much better than the recently reviewed Power Groove. The V2 Sweet is my new favorite ball and I love the way you can easily make it go straight or make it hook the whole lane. It is a very versitile ball, and I recommend that everyone has one of these in there bags.<scrip

This ball is just one of the best balls I have ever thrown. I truly dont know how they can make this ball go so far and roll so nice. I cant normally get plastic to go as far as this ball does without turning. I rolled a lot of good games with a solid readable roll the first week I got it. It did take about 6 or 7 games to wear in a track, and figure out the roll, but like I said I am not used to a ball capable of what this ball does. I would definetly recommend this ball to anyone who loves the V2 clean. The V2 Sweet has a very clean roll, but is a little bit stronger on the backend. I am just very impressed with the entire V2 line. I have the entire line, and every ball did exactly like they said they would do, and that makes ball changing during competition just plain easy. GO BUY THIS BALL, AND THE V2 CLEAN.<scrip

One of my favorite balls of all time was Ebonite's Black and Silver Matrix so I couldn't wait to try this one. They put the Matrix pearl cover around the V2 block. Great combination. I threw this ball on a scorched condition so had to move inside to find any oil. Ball rolled very smooth playing inside the track area and made a strong not flippy move on the back. Do believe it will need head oil for best performance. Color is fantastic also! Been throwing Storm equipment the past year of so but in the past had been throwing a lot of Ebonite so I was glad to see they made some changes in coverstocks and weight blocks this upcoming year. If the V2 performs for me anything like my Matrix did I'll have 2 or 3 in my bag. Welcome back Ebonite!
