If you bowl on the slick stuff, get one....for the Cash, it is the best ball on the market. I have used this ball for about 5 weeks and have yet to really struggle finding the pocket. I really think that for the money, you cant find a better ball for medium to slick lanes, especially the sport shots that are being played today. Has a very similar feel to it that the werewolf has, but with more consistancy. Although it has been discontinued, you can find this ball through a variety of distributors, so dont think that it is gone for good. I hope that ebonite has something to take its place this fall.

well, it all depends on your release how it hooks. my release, i take 3 steps and loft it to get a gentle hook to hit right in the pocket. ever since i got this ball, my average has gone up. of course, i still use my thunderbolt and hammer, but ususally for dryer lanes or pickup. in my opinion and probably a proven fact, ebonite is the best company to make bowling balls and they just prove it again with the Vortex III. even though it is a great ball, it isn't recommended for everyone. i get it to hook just fine, but three other people that used it sent it right to the gutter. i even let a guy that can hook a plastic use it, and he had no comeback with it, landing it in the gutter.

I happen to own this bowling ball and it here are the things to realize: 22.7 hook rating proactives hook more at the end where resin balls hook a bit earlier and tend to straighten out sometimes. This is the best ball you can buy for all types of lanes conditions. It's also a mid-priced bowling ball and the thing I like about it vs a resin ball is that it's a proactive and the thing about a proactive is when you take spin off of the ball when the lanes are dry and stand way over to the left and throw it in the middle of the lane you'll still get the angle going back to the left when it hits the pocket where other balls come in flat.<
