Ebonite Turbo Black Bowling Ball

(2 reviews) Write a Review

The Turbo's powerful two-piece construction gives you a highly concentrated core with an extra thick shell -- nearly two inches of urethane. This means a more consistent roll and greater impact, keeping pins lower for improved carry-through. The bold graphic design, vibrant colors and a great price complete this power package.

There was two versions of this ball.  The Black Turbo with White Lettering had a different coverstock finish and a different base urethane.  The Black Turbo with Orange Lettering was later in the production life, and had a different coverstock finish using a different urethane blend.  From personal experience they were much different balls.

This ball is a good over all ball. It is especially great for beginners because it is good for a down and in style line. In other words it does not have a sharp aggressive backend reaction. I would recommend this ball for medium to dry patterns or as a good spare ball. This ball has a tendency though not to carry the corner pins. Overall I just feel this is a decent ball with some helpful strengths. Probably the best urethane ball out there. If you are looking for a more agressive ball I would recommend a Predator or a Savage.

This is the first ball I ever had drilled for my hand, and I've still got it and use it as my primary ball 14 years later. I've had it sanded dull for heavy oil, polished for medium oil and then left it in a sort of in-between state so that I can use it pretty much anywhere I roll. It's because of this ball that I wound up getting the Red & Blue Pearls, the X and and the A in the Turbo line. Sadly, the Red, Blue and X balls are locked away in Cheney Bowl and I left my A in my car one night and it cracked around the circumference. But my Black Turbo still perseveres, and I can still go out and shoot 180 or so any given night, even though I don't bowl in leagues anymore.
