Ebonite Total NV Bowling Ball

(46 reviews) Write a Review
The name Total NV stands for Totally New Veneer!! In our continued pursuit to be the innovator in coverstock technology, the R & D chemist team at Ebonite has identified another component in coverstock performance. In the One series, we explored the effect of absorption rates on hook potential. In the NV series, we will be demonstrating the effect of surface texture on hook potential. We have found that, by manipulating this component, we can enhance total hook and backend motion. We now have two unique tools to use to make Ebonite performance products the state of the art in bowling ball technology. We are not forgetting absorption rates. Veneer absorption rate is one of the key elements of ball performance, but we now believe that surface texture is just as important in creating dynamic ball motion. By using both of these tools, we feel that Ebonite will continue to dominate the performance ball market.

good ball but needs a lot of up keep and cleaning, i use powerhouse cleaning supplies. First i use the energizer ball cleaned and clean 2 times with a towel, then i use a factory finish polish and this works ok but it still does not get the ball back to when i got it out of the box and it just hit 40-55 ft and dug into the lane like you were throwing it on carpet, anyway i use the factory finish with a small washcloth and go over it about 2 or 3 times with that. this shines it up and makes it go long, but i takes a few shot to re develop a track so it grips again

I give this ball a 10 so far. The looks and the hook and the pin action are unsurpassed. Its what you should expect to get in a 200 dollar ball. If the oil is less i just move over a step and if it is more i move the oposite. I'll write back after a 20 or 30 more games. I've heard some bad stories about some higher priced balls losing it all after about fifty games(NO MERCY)and balls cracking(BLACK WIDOW AND PARADIGM). I don't have any more to write, but this is less than 65 words so hopefully i can fill the rest until i complete the winter and summer leagues.

This ball is the only thing that ebonite has produced that I will get a second one of. This ball is very powerful (I used TJ's layout for myself) I have a high rev rate and I am versatile. I can play almost anywhere with this ball. I recently had to put a little shine back on it (i did it by hand, i don't like lustre kings). This ball is better when it is polished up. Dulling it made it lose a bit of power. However, polish makes it sensitive to turn, angle, and speed. Overall, I rate this ball the best this company has produced in a long time. It hits like The One but it has yet to die out like The One did.

This ball is definitely on steroids. It hits like a ton of bricks and carries the world. It hits so hard that it avoids alot of splits. Great ball by Ebonite. I can not believe that any has a backend reaction like this one. This is the best hitting, best carrying, best hooking ball that I have ever owned, and I have owned alot of bowling balls. If you pitch it outside of your target it has an amazing recovery off the dry. It holds the inside. I can honestly say that I have about a 8 board zone of carry. Unbelievable. Words cannot describe how great this ball is. The last ebonite ball I owned was a stinger 2-piece. There was a reason that was the last ebonite ball i owned. The Total NV is by far the best ball I have owned.

This bowling ball is the best ball that i have ever purchased. I own a lot of bowling balls and this will be the first one out of my bag everytime i bowl. i dont see how anyone could ever dislike this ball. this ball is the front runner for ball of the year. I only have a few games on it but i am going to clean it and do my best to keep it from dying out. I dont really have anymore to say on this ball except it is the most amazing bowling ball ever and if you are in the market for a high-end ball with a lot of hook potential i would recomend this ball to you in a heart beat.

THIS IS NOT THE BALL FOR SOMEONE WHO GETS LESS THAN TWENTY REVOLUTIONS. EVEN WITH AN AGRESSIVE DRILLING. I TRIED FIRST, SECOND, THIRD AND FOURTH ARROWS AND THIS BALL DID NOTHING! UNLESS YOU ARE A CRANKER ON A DRY PATTERN FOGET IT!!! MINE IS IN THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER. IF I WANT A TEN PIN BALL I USE A 25 DOLLAR PLASTIC BALL. O REVOLUTIONS THROUGH THE HEADS. ONE THROUGH THE MIDLANE. THREE ON THE BACKEND. NORMALLY I RUN 3 REVS ON THE HEADS FOUR REVS IN THE MIDLANE AND 5 REVS ON THE BACKEND. WITH A DRILLING A LOT LESS AGRESSIVE THAN THAT BALL WAS LAYED OUT.

WOW, all I can say is Wow. Me and my brother got this ball in our Pro Shop and these have been selling like hotcakes. I sold 4 of these last week. I had mine drilled with the pin below my ring finger, and I could not miss with this ball. It is very forgiving and without a doubt, the best ball that Ebonite has ever come out with. I have never really thrown with Ebonite before this ball, and I came away very, very impressed. Then again how can you not. If you are a low rev player and want to upgrade your hook, this is no doubt the bowling ball for you. I turn the ball a lot, and had to throw this faster than most bowlers would. I mean, when I slowed this ball down, it was on the brooklyn side. I was in awe at how much this ball moved. I mean, the first 7 balls that I threw with this were strikes and I was always in the pocket. Please, buy this ball so you can truly appreciate the greatness of it.

Can I say Sheeeeeith, This ball is on steroid. No matter where you throw it, this TNV will come screaming back to the pocket. Great ball from ebonite. ON fresh shot playing down and in, this ball goes little long and save so much energy crushing the pocket. On medium pattern, this ball killzzzzz, playing deeper inside and this mofo come screaming back to the pocket. Can't wait to order a few more with different layout. Go ebonite!!! best ebonite pearl ball, best ebonite pearl ball, best ebonite pearl ball, best ebonite pearl ball, best ebonite pearl ball, best ebonite pearl ball, best ebonite pearl ball, best ebnite pear ball!!!!! 100 wordssss

Fantastic reaction, love the way the ball finishes and recovers from throws off line. Tends to hold inside and snaps right back to the pocket if hits dry. Shot a few 270+ with this ball and a friend shot 801 with it. Love this ball as a tournament ball also. I don't think their is anything that this ball can't do given the right surface.I didn't like the factory finish, I needed something that hooked a little earlier and sanded it down to 1000 and it's been great ever since. This sentence is filler in order to meet the minimum amount of words.

I am full roller and up to 14mph speed, low rev, a stroker and out the box this ball was a total disappointment to me. So I sanded it down using a taxi 60 micron 220 grit paper, waxed it using the Columbia 320 and the result was DEVASTATING!! More pin action than my angular one. To date this is the best ball I ever owned and it's been 3 months since I purchased it. With proper maintenance and cleaning this ball will always perform like a champ. A trully fine piece of work. Not totally friendly like the Angular One. It is a ball, I think have to be tailored completely to your specific type of throw. You, most likely, will have to experiment with this ball as soon as start rolling it. Otherwise you may end up not liking it.

Bought this ball looking for something that would hook in heavy oil. It's tough for a stroker, with low rev's to make this happen. Out of box, 1 game of practice, to feel ball out, 620 series. This ball was moving for me on tournament conditions..Very Very happy.. Used the #2 lay out.. I have the Columbia rev, Ti Messanger, this ball out hooks them, by far, Now I really excited about this ball, It's only going to get better.. thanks Ebonite. If you want the ball to move, and your a stroker, This is it.

Have thrown 14 games with it so far. High game 268. Low game 222. Averaging 238. These scores are over 3 different houses with different oil patterns. This is now my go to ball. I thrown the ball about 18mph and crank the hell out of it. It has a nice slide and an amazing finish. I rarely leave a 7 pin, and if I do its my fault not the balls. We will have to see how long the coverstock lasts for. I was sold on this ball by an ex PBA member and ex PBA driller. With reviews like that and the results that I have seen so far, I can complain. The best money I have ever spent on a bowling ball next to the Hammer Vicious Attack.

My first series with the ball was the highest I have had in 2 years which is only a 740, and this was on the end pair of lanes which are notorious as being the worst lanes in the house. It is the only pair that does not have an award score shot on them. The first 9 shots were all strikes, screwed up the 10th with a ringer 10. Having this kind of reaction out of the box on the worst pair made me a beliver real quick. Update - 2 weeks later. Ball reaction is not the same after 18 games. Still a strong move but not as predictable. I'm playing with the cover a little to see if taking the shine off helps. I really hope that this new coverstock is long lasting and does not break down as time goes on. We'll see.

I started using this ball with 60 games in my league. I now have 66 games in and my average jumped 4 pins already. Two weeks and I gained 4 pins. I never saw that done before. Basically the best ball I have ever owned. I am seeing them everywhere now, league, tournaments, PBA telecasts. Just a great ball, very similar to the storm domination but carry is hands down better as well as mid lane recovery. Will use on sport shot in a couple of weeks, WIll post after I do. If you ae thinking about buying this ball it is well worth the money. I haver never seen such great length, mid lane recovery, and carry with a bowling ball before. I have 12 games on my ball and average 248 over those 12 games. 646-794-729-737. I average 216. Great BALL!!!

The Total NV has made me a believer in Ebonite again. For two years, I have been a big fan of AMF 300 and Brunswick. I decided that I would try a different company and try out some other equipment. Didn't match up well to Storm and wasn't real thrilled with the Radar line with AMF. So I looked towards Ebonite. I had luck with Ebonite when I started bowling and needless to say, I think I have a winner with the Total NV. These balls have been selling like hotcakes in my area and pretty much everyone has the same reaction. Easily controlled ball with excellent carry. This ball makes me want to try out stuff out by Ebonite. Maybe something in the One line. We'll see.

This ball looks and sounds great when it hits. It goes long, turns and keeps on driving. 258 out of the box with a 689 series. Not bad for first time using. Hit the pocket and they all go down. Left only two 10 pins all night. This ball will work best for you on medium to heavy oil. I played from second dot to third arrow and got great results. If you hit your mark you will strike. No mysterious 8 pins or splits you don't deserve. You wouldn't expect a shiny coverstock to grip the lane like this one does but you will be very surprised. OK, after having this ball for over a year and only bowling in one league, once a week and not in the summer, I have to agree with the other reviewers that it seems to die way too soon. For the money that this ball cost you would expect alot more. It hit great and got the job done when I first got it but now it is time to retire it. It seems to soak up oil like a sponge.

Please understand, that the ball I am replacing I have been using since high school. It was an old Ebonite Firebolt that I threw from 2nd dot to first arrow. It was a first generation urethane ball. SO... what I am seeing as astronomical benefits, the rest of you may see as common place. With this ball I had to move from the 2nd dot on the approach to the same place on the other side of the approach. Have I gone from a regular stroker to a cranker? LOL! Also it should be known that all I have thrown this ball on are burned out lanes. I can never seem to get to the lanes right after cleaning and oiling. This summer I will be on a league and will get good conditions more often. I normally work on Mondays when the local alley cleans and oils as a matter of weekly maintenance. Otherwise, they only clean and oil before each league and only on those lanes that are used.

I drilled this ball up with everything stacked down the side and the ball has great leagnth and has a tremondus back end reaction I will deffinitly get another one and put the pin up above the bridge and give it a little more length to use when this one starts hooking too much a must have ball if you like the other balls of ebonite or even if you don't try this ball you will not be disappointed at all. I am so happy with the ball I shot out of the box 248 236 235 for 719 this ball is so preditable and looks good rolling down the lan

Ball roll's great, I am a Medium Revs 17mph player. Drilled it up yesterday, 1 inch pin, pin 4 o'clock 1 inch away from right finger cg 2 inches 5 o'clock mb 45 degrees,6 inches away from center of grip, Roll's hard off my hand, but doesn't start hooking until the end of the pattern, Hook's hard off of the breakpoint, but doesn't overreact. Thrown on Brunswick Synthetic Lanes with a 40' house shot, as well as a broken down house shot, did not roll out on the broken down shot, but may underreact on the fresh shot, had to move out to 3rd arrow<
