The name Total NV stands for Totally New Veneer!! In our continued pursuit to be the innovator in coverstock technology, the R & D chemist team at Ebonite has identified another component in coverstock performance. In the One series, we explored the effect of absorption rates on hook potential. In the NV series, we will be demonstrating the effect of surface texture on hook potential. We have found that, by manipulating this component, we can enhance total hook and backend motion. We now have two unique tools to use to make Ebonite performance products the state of the art in bowling ball technology. We are not forgetting absorption rates. Veneer absorption rate is one of the key elements of ball performance, but we now believe that surface texture is just as important in creating dynamic ball motion. By using both of these tools, we feel that Ebonite will continue to dominate the performance ball market.

    This ball i got midway through the season and i have played with it pretty much. The ball is very condition sensitive but when it works its amazing. First night i had the ball i shot 723. The ball requires not overly saturated lanes but with a dry break point. If it doesnt have that it just rolls. Not a whole lot of in between.. Its a great ball for medium to dry lanes but it has done nothing for me on oil. It complements my Ebonite One and Infinite One very well.. It has a strong back end attack when it works

    good start but it will die after around 200-300 games. i had it resurfaced and it still didnt do anything to help it out. i like the ball in the beggining but now i use it when its to dry for my other balls. it tends to leave alot of ringing ten pins even when you smash the pocket. it definatly is a good ball for a season or so. recently its very common of ebonite balls to die out and become just a disapointment after so many games, this is my second recently bought ebonite high performance ball, and just like the black widdow bite, it will die out on you faster then you know if you bowl more then twice a week.

    I like the controlability of this ball. I can throw it cranked or with a lot of forward roll when the lanes demand it. This ball with a lot of forward action really shines but using the big wheel the Total NV hits too hard actually and leaves a lot of 10's as the bird dogs fly around too high. When I take a more direct line with it, the pins crash better than my faster higher rev throws. I've thrown it in a different house with synthetics and it's really easy to pop 220's almost every time, but on my woods at home with our senior oil pattern I'm the head pin master with it unless I bowl like I'm 95. Overall I like it, and find it is the one I use most often.

    Ball was a little strong out of the box. Now I have 50 + games and I love this ball. I have the pin low, long & strong layout. I can play inside the middle arrow go all the way between 5 & 10 at 45 feet and the ball will still pound the hole. I have resurfaced this ball and haven't lost any performance. My brother averages 195 with this ball in 2 different leagues. He rolls down 15 out to 5 and back. Our two different styles have shown that this ball is great for anyone. He is RH and I am LH. I would recomend this ball to any one who has trouble with more agressive balls hooking too much. I rarely have this ball hook up early and the way it slides through the front and then snaps so hard on the backend. I am tempted to buy another and try a weaker layout for dry conditions. I have done a hot water oil treatment on this ball 3 times since I got it 8 months ago. I saw no decline performance but, It is in my standard coverstock maintainance to do so.

    I have kept the surface up, I even sanded to get more hook, when I purchased I thought it would last longer.. than it did..     Three of us bought this ball in the same week We all bowl in the same league. We all shot 700's out of the gate. It appeared that we had purchased a very good ball. Then after about three or four weeks, we all noticed our balls were not hitting like they did when we bought them. Finally after another month, we all stopped bowling with the balls. they had soaked up so much oil, they would not hook anymore. the pro shop said they have gotten nothing but complaints about the ebonite balls soaking up oil until they stop hooking. Jones, the ebonite pro, says he replaces his balls every twenty games or less! Spending that much money for only twenty games is BS.

    Drilled @ 55 degrees, pin above fingers. Great on walls and when brand new. After about 30 games, "ball death" set in. Tried everything BUT rejuvenation (too much work for me), but to no avail. Was practicing with it (and some other stuff) on a Scorpion shot. Was striking at will with ALMOST everything else, weak 10's with the NV. When it did get solid in the pocket, it was ok. Generally speaking I did not find the ball "forgiving" to release mistakes on the tuff stuff. Sold the ball to a LH who absolutely LOVES this ball. I have heard that the block in this ball favors LH more than RH. Kind of odd that Ebonite would make a "lefty" ball.

    Not a bad ball, but high maintenanced. I'm not sure if the NVS is the same, curious but will wait for more reviews. I was hoping that the NV would keep its potential as long as possible. Hopefully deep cleaning and/or having a different surface can revive this ball to its original form if not at least come close. Overall, I was a little disappointed, considering this was my first ebonite ball and the reviews on this ball were fairly decent. I guess I shouldn't believe everything I read, just believe everything I write. LOL! I'm still hunting for that wascally wabbit!!!

    The ball is just absoutly amazing when it goes down the lane. You never have to wonder if the ball is going to come back because it always comes back. When it reaches about 50ft down the lane it just turns stright into the pocket. when it hits the pocket it just destroys the pins and dosent look back. if the lanes aare breaking in the middle of the lane then this ball has a slight problem. our alley sent down a worker from Kellgel oiling INC and oiled our lane with a new shot and i smacked down 8 in a row because this ball is so amazing. Getting a NVS today so read it if you woould like. Ebonite GREAT BALL

    Overall, Id recommend this ball. I know a lot of people that use it and they love the way it hooks and hits. Ill have to agree with them. The ball is a great addition to my Infinite One and the NVS I won sunday. It is drilled to roll early with the pin above and almost in the middle of my middle and ring fingers with a 1/2" weight hole. It will work well for the lighter conditions or when the lanes break down here. Most of the lanes here are synthetic heads and wood backends or all wood. Only the military bases are all synthetic. Please do not be discouraged by this ball.

    Overall, this is a pretty decent ball. I think it was a little overpriced and a little over rated. There are balls with more hit that are costed lower. When I keep it on a tight line, it is a very powerful ball but with a little more swing to it, it tends to use up all of its energy prior to hitting the pocket. It does tend to get quite a bit of pin action and break up potential splits. I bought it because everyone was raving about it but reverted back to other equipment because it couldn't always get the carry. It didn't even sound solid most of the time. I will be a little more cautious when the NVS comes out.

    i bought this ball for a sport shot much like the U.S. open have not used it on the shot yet i will post a new review once i use it. this ball has a tendancy to send pins everywhere and leave solid 9's. the ligher sots carry more than usuall this ball is awesome. first game with it 244 and 10 strikes in a row. the last 7 in the 244 and the first three the next game. it took about 2 games b4 i had to change bowling balls the ball was at a 600 grit dull VERY smooth reaction straight up the back of the ball and snappy when u flip ur hand. this ball really was great untill it burnt out. <scr

    This ball is extremely versatile. I can play all over. Up two all the way over to 25 to 10. this ball is great. Take off the polish for heavy or long oil. ball will glide on longer patterns. 2000 abralon should be enough. Great carry. much like that of the one. kicks the pins all around. I keep the ball polished and it gives me the best reaction. didnt take good enough care of it at first and paid the price. ball stopped working right. rejuvinated it and it was back to normal. Overall this is an amazing ball. Ebonite really has something. I only wish i could have thrown the NV. Looking forward to the NVS.

    Don't be afaid to change the cover to this ball. You will need to so you can play on every lane condition. It will work and hit like a ton of bricks anywhere you bowl. If you don't turn the ball a lot and want a ball that will hook anywhere sand the ball down to 500 grit and it will hook out of the house. I saw a guy shot his first 300 with the pin above his ring finger and CG pushed out. He throw the ball down and in over the second arrow and could not miss. I play the 3rd to 4th arrow and I have my ball out of the box finish with the pin below the ring finger the CG stacked. This layout works great if you are a mid cranker. Hope this helps if you get one.

    I personally have 2 Total NV's. I have one that is 5 1/2 pin to PAP w/ mass bias 2 3/4 to PAP and pin above fingers about 1/2 inch. The other one I have is 4 1/2 pin to PAP w/ mass bias 2 3/4 to PAP and pin above fingers about 1 1/2 inches. Of the two drillings I really like the first one. If offers me plenty of length with a strong and smooth backend reaction while allowing me to play deep from about the 25 to the 4 board or deeper if I desire. I suggest doing the first drilling if you have a fast ball speed and lots of revs. The second one I really liked it, when it came to the PBA Experience league, on the scorpion and chameleon patterns. Though I was not able to play the 25 to 4 board on those two patterns I was still able to play 20 to 8 as a starting point, so still played deep. I haven't tried it on the shark yet.

    A good ball if you are as accurate as tommy jones or chris barnes, but if you aren't, you will throw your share of splits,because of its high friction, hard driving characteristics. I had a great ball, but its cover doesn't like polish, acting very severely to the minimal amount i put on it. However, before that the ball worked great, making a track through the oil, then taking a u-turn left. I had it drilled with the pin above fingers, on the grip midline to reduce flare and hook potential, but I still hook the ball too much, so I guess if thats what you want its a great ball.

    I'm fairly new to bowling (as in this year) and I started out with an Ebonite Maxim, once learning the basics I decided to move up to a reactive ball to which I looked at everything under the sun and finally settled on the AMF Radar only to find that I couldn't really get my hands on that ball... Well, I'm glad I couldn't because my second choice was the Total NV... After getting the Total NV I bowled 16 frames out of 2 games (my wife bowled the other 4) and 9 of those frames had strikes... I was bowling like I've wanted too for the past few months but couldn't find consistency with the spare ball... Well let me say I just have the typical drilling for a player who doesn't yet know his PAP... My revs are also average but the RG on the 14 LB didn't require me to have a killer rev rate to get this ball to respond so that was a huge plus for me... Overall, I really like the way the ball moves because there's nothing more frustrating then trying to learn a sport with inco

    2/27/08- Last minute call, was asked me to sub, brought the Total NV, went 225-268-300 = 793 Ball was AMAZING...The oil had moved 3rd game, but the TotalNV read it and I adjusted to it. WOW!!! I love this ball, it so predictable. Had 782 with it toward seasons end. Have not seen ANY signs of overskid or lack of turn from it after 60 games. I always use a wetted down 4000 Abralon pad to keep it clean, then Ebonite Cleaner. It seems to keep its reaction. Of course, using the dawn with hot water every 3 weeks or so to keep oil out of the ball. I recommend this ball if you are looking for something new and with alot of give. If you want a ball that will push thru heads, sit on mark, turnover and scream to the pocket unleashing a wrath of pin action, this is the ball for you.....ENJOY!

    I bought this ball so I could have something really snap in the back. Most of my bowling balls have dull surfaces, with a continuous arching motion. I first tried it on soaked all wood lanes, and I wasn't able to get the big hook I normally get, but I was able to play 10 to 5 which I don't normally get to play that much. Like I said before the ball takes a game or two for you to see how it really hooks. To say the least I really love this ball especially now that I know where to play it on the lanes and I see how the ball really hooks. Also one of my favorite things about this ball is when it hits the pocket it hits really hard and gives me the most beautiful strikes I have ever see

    Picked up Total NV to replace my Tropical Storm. Tropical wasn't carrying pins through the rack. The NV did exactly what I expected. It's drilled to go long then make a strong break. Hit my mark (7 board) and watch the pins fall. Forgiveness is also nice found I can play this ball out to the 2 board and hit pocket or play up the 10 board and still shred the pocket. Can't wait to get more games on this ball. So far my low game is 227 with a top of 279. Three out of the four games I have thrown with it would have been perfect if I were bowling "No-Tap". This ball is easily the best ball I have thrown.
