The Ebonite Fire is the highest flaring entry level ball out there. Although it has a 3 piece core, it still had decent performance and was readable on the right conditions. The Fire was drilled with a stacked leverage layout for maximum hook hopefully reducing some of the skid. The Fire still skidded through the heads. The condition was first a broken down medium shot. The Fire had too much skid and could not recover on the backend at first. As the lanes broke down, the Fire remained consistent in its pearl like reaction and it recovered from the dry. It had a very angular movement to it. I also tried it on a light oil shot, but that was too much for the Fire, it flipped way too hard. The Fire only looked good on medium-light shots. It is sensitive to many lane conditions. On more oil, the Fire looks like a plastic ball. On less than ideal oil, the Fire has too much flip and is not smooth enough for drier shots. This ball is a good deal though, only around $115 total. Wh

Ended up selling the ball to a friend that is a more aggresave bowler and he uses it every now and agen on lighter oil and does well with it. When I owned it I alwas seemed to have to play on the outside lines and turn the ball just right to get the flip blockes to make it hook. When it did hook it was spectaculer but not predictable for me. Averaged around 180-190 with it and have some 200-220 games. Did roll a 242 with it on a good night. But with other balls (columbia300 beast) And (Morich WMB) im averaging around 210-225, with the ocasional high games of 260 - 300 games.

I would suggest this ball to a new bowler or someone who wants a good value for the price. I loved this ball out of the box, but after 20 or so games it lost the hook that I liked. The lanes I bowl at the most are mostly dry, sometimes they have a little oil, this ball plays very well at about 13 mph and carries almost every strike when the pocket is hit. This ball also loves to carry on the broklyn side. The ball tends to get very dirty after 5 or 6 games, but with good maintence this is not really a problem.

I took up bowling pretty seriously for the first time about six months ago and this is my first ball purchase. I'm a "classic" stroker (absolutely no cranking) and on most house lanes with medium oil, this ball has a controlled backend hook that is not too big. It is also very predictable and very forgiving even if you miss the target by up to 2 boards. Like some of the other reviews said, I don't believe this ball is a good choice for most crankers. It also doesn't hurt that this red/orange ball stands out amongst all those dull blue/black/green balls everyone else has! Glow bowling with ball is tripping!

i dont own this ball but my mom does and sometimes after my right hand tires i use my left hand, and well its drilled for a lefty so i used it. its break point shape is very angular and realy hits hard. I BOWLED A 183 WITH MY OPPOSITE HAND WITH THIS BALL!!! shame i couldnt get a 200, that would be something to brag about for a long time, anyway i also bowl with this ball sometimes with no fingers and unlike the other dude who reviewed this ball i could get it into the pocket, i just have to aim it practicaly five feet out into the gutter and it comes back this is a great ball for everyone and is very versitile

-This is my first ball in 15 years and it works great -I bowl slow so it has plenty of time to curve since i put low rotations on it -never leaves the 10 pin (im left handed) -surprising pin action -even though i bowl slower than the average bowler it still explodes the pins with force -looks really kool going down the lane with all the flames spinning around -my high game with this ball is 191 (average is 120) and this was my third time bowling in years -Crankers look else where, i saw one guy try to crank this ball down the lane and the ball went out and right back right into the gutter a little more than 1/2 way down the lane <

This ball is a solid hitter with a big backend reaction. The lanes that I first used it on were somewhat dried up, which caused me to play a very deep line. I was standing on about the 30th board letting the ball roll out to the 5 and it was coming back with plenty of energy to carry the 10 pin. After I found that this line worked, I threw the last 8 strikes of the game finishing with a 258. I have yet to throw it with some oil on the lane, so I'm not too sure how it will react. I will post an update after I try it out. Overall, this is a very good dry lane ball and it hits like a truck.

This ball is hands down the best ball I have ever bought. I used it in league for the first time last night and bowled an 819 series with it. That is my highest ever. I stood in the same spot the hole time. I have not bowled below a 210 with this ball, my average with this ball is 250. This ball is so consistent and smooth, acutaly I don't think you can get more consistent then this ball. If your looking for a ball that goes long and you can use on everything but heavy oil then this ball is for you. Actualy this ball is for everyone. I can not tell you how happy I am with this ball. I never thought a $50-$60 balll could be this good. The ball looks great and once its on the lane it gets even better. You can not go wrong if you buy this ball. Go get one NOW!!

I just got this ball today, I wanted a ball for dryer lanes. I have a Brunswick Ultimate Inferno and Tracks Phenom. Both awesome balls for oil. Last night during league the lanes were very very dry and my Phenom and Ultimate just hooked like crazy. I brought my Ebonite Predator (the ball I bowled my second 300 with) and used that which worked good but I needed somthing that would get down the lane. So I went to the pro shop and I told them I was looking at the Brunswick Power Groove. They said that the Ebonite fire would be a better ball so I said why not it looks good and it says its sapose to get down the lane. Well, I was very happy with the results of this ball. I bowled a 203 striking out from the 9th in the first game. I went back to the pro shop and had them open up the thumb hole a lttle more. Then on my second game I struck from the 1st through the 9th frame for a 279 makeing that 13 strikes in a row between the first and second game. If you are looking for a ball t

I am a 2 handed bowler (with thumb left out). I put quite a lot of revs on the ball. I was looking for a ball that would go very long, that would snap late and controllably. This ball does not provide that if you have some serious hand. I've tried throwing harder, backing off a few revs, and even bowling backup. None of these things have worked to smooth the breakpoint so far. I'm a right handed 2 hander, and have the pin drilled under the middle finger and the CG in the centre of grip. I've seen some other bowlers on the same conditions struggle to hook this ball with a more aggressive drilling, however they throw a few less revs than I do. If you're looking for a ball that will snap hard with a medium amount of axis rotation, on a medium condition, then this ball may suit you. However, if you have a lot of hand and are bowling on really dry conditions - look elsewhere.<s

well this ball i got because i got my girlfriends dads discount on it. i wanted something that would go longer and snap so i could have a ball for a tourny coming up during the weekend. well when i first started throwing it i could tell this would be a good ball. all i had to do is stay within three boards of my mark and it would either strike or leave something simple. this ball did leave a few 9's and 8's though. if you need a ball thats for almost lane condition i believe this ball should be in your bag. the great price for such a great ball
