Ebonite Apex Aggression Bowling Ball

Going up against heavier oiled lanes? Introducing the new ERP (Energy Retaining Particle) coverstock, allowing a higher load of particles to provide traction without the consequence of the premature loss of energy in the backends that traditionally plagues more aggressive loading. Combined with the same explosive core that makes the Adrenaline one of the truly unique ball reactions, the Aggression will be sure to get bowlers totally stocked.

wonderful ball when used on the right conditions hits better than the killer intinct and looks better too. ball can handle the heavy oil and out of bounds areas easily. on a typical league condition i throw this ball inside 5th arrow out to 1st board and the ball can recover the boards easily. the ball doesnt roll out or burn up on dryer conditions just over hooks or leaves the 8 pin when you try to hit the pocket. i throw the ball about 38 km/h and everyone wonders how i do it but even though i throw the ball i have to keep up with speed or else it will go through the heart even on heavy oil conditions. well over all pretty good ball too bad i cant find a 15lbs one.

First few games with this ball, it was very hard hooking. I have been used to throwing a mid range hooking ball, my vicious particle, but as soon as i threw this ball, i saw a huge difference. it tracked through the heavy oil which plagued me all day long. This ball seemed to be good for those shooters with low revs and a good ball speed, but it goes out of control when you throw slow and with no revs. try to stay away from that. When it hit a dry spot, it just took off on you, that's about the major thing wrong with this ball. It left a few crush 8's, but what ball doesn't? that just takes getting used to, and finding the right zone to throw the ball in. I shot very good games with this ball, and for once was able to get through the oil with ease. I love this ball, and i'm wondering why they discontinued it!

Drilled with the pin next to the ring and the cg kicked out with a balance hole. This ball was worth the $150 I paid for it. real nice length to the point of friction and then it turns and BA-BOOM! I flipped harder and recovered better than almost any heavy oil ball I have thrown. Revs up really quick and explodes to the pocket. It's farily speed sensitive and don't even attemp to throw it on dry lanes. If you use it for the right conditions and have medium to high ball speed and medium revs, this ball is money in the oil. Another success form Ebonite.

I bought this ball at my local house for 175 including drilling. I completely wasted my money on this ball. It was drilled with the most aggresive patteren for the ball and performed very well for the first 45 games I threw it. My highest score with it was 256 (high game in that league for that year). Then, the ball just died out. I tried having it sanded about 3 time, done all of the techniques for removing oil from the ball, nothing worked. I originally was starting on the 2nd arrow on the left and throwing out to the 2nd arrow on the right. The ball came in real well. After it died, I had to start on the 3rd arrow on the right, and threw on the 2nd arrow on the right. I retired this ball after 6 weeks of use. Don't buy this thing if you want an aggresive ball that will hook. It will at first, and that's about it.

great ball on heavier oil conditions it is the best ball i have ever thrown on oil,it hit like a frieght train and just flat out hooked all over the lane.but you absolutly have to know when too put it away thats the only problem i had too deal with this ball.and its easier to get used too only after 5-6 games.i absolutely love this ball. its exelent.it has an extreme arc to its roll down the lane.i bought this ball for 170 dallors and i think this ball was just such a great value.

I bought this ball with a hope that it will live up to it's title. However, I have not been satisfied with it's reaction since the day I have bought it. I think it's one of the worst balls out in stock and should not be under the "high-performance" category. BUT! The day I used this ball in an all wood condition, I learned that the carry was a little better but unless you can give up your regular speed, and learn how to play very smoothly, you will NOT carry almost always. So I do not recommend this to anyone with a high expectation in their leagues.

There was a lot that I liked about the Agression. There was even more until i killed it by not cleaning it very good. So when I bought a new one, and I kept it clean very good, I was able to get a soild reaction everytime I used it after that. I think that instead of cleaning it after everytime your done bowling, you should clean it after every 3 games. If the ball hit an area where there was little oil, it will go out of control and slap you in the face. I was able to control the amount of boards it had to cross before it hit the pocket.<scrip

The Aggression did not satisfy me. I was looking for a ball to throw in alot of oil. It does do that. Then put it away except for spares cross ally. After the first game the ball works well for 2 frames then runs on the nose anyou leave splits or buckets. The ball sucks alot of oil and you have to really take care of it. I use the citrus cleaner/energizer from Ebonite. It seems to do the trick. I also used a beat up grey scotch brite pad after cleaning (very light). I also have used Ball Dull it's ok. It's rotation and speed sensitive. You have to be constant with you speed and release or you'll pay. I did find out the last time I bowled that if I thro the ball out in between 2nd and 3rd arrow and let it roll off my hand like your going to shake hands with someone it rols right into the pocket but your speed is Important about 16.2 mph. Overall I like the ball but it's high maintanance.

I used to believe that Ebonite was my favorite ball and I still like the way they work, but they don't last very long. I sand the ball before I use it each week and It was only about 17 weeks before I was loosing some of the logo imprint. It took a few times before I figured out how to throw this ball, but I became quite happy with it after a few weeks. I found that it hooks good (not great) on medium-heavy oil on wood lanes, but I took it to a tournament where the lanes are synthetic and they use a quite a bit more oil than my normal house and found that the ball hooked more on those lanes. I should say also that these lanes have cleaner backends than my normal house does. I came home happy with the Apex Aggression. I agree with some of the others that the ball does tend to leave an 8 or 9 pin at times but I don't see a lot of ten pins. If it wasn't already "used up" with only twenty weeks of part time use I would give it ten pins, but I think a ball should last better than that. I'

This was my favorite ball during the winter. I have inflamed tendons in my wrist, and the my doctor told me to quit bowling. To hell with that, it's my one night of the week away from the wife & kids. So I'm moving to a lighter ball. This was always the first ball out of my bag. It has a nice predictable & controllable arc, and hits nicely. If the lanes get dry, forget it. The ball hooks way too early on dry lanes. But most guys carry 2 balls now. Then it's time to break out the Storm Hot Rod Baby. ;-)

This ball is a great ball for sloppy shots but thats not the only reason i bought it for. I bought it for heavy oil and it works but not like i wanted it to. It doesnt seem to want to react consistently, especially for a cranker like myself. I thought that this ball might have been a little bit better in quality considering its a $220 ball and made by ebonite but it seems to be kind of a disappointment to me. It moves alot at first but eventually begins to die down slowly so you might need to make some surface adjustments.

This ball is great out of the box it worked great shot 287 first game the after it ate some oil it didnt work very well I heated the ball to get the oil out and sanded the ball down with 280 grit sand paper now i've thrown the ball for about 30 games and its not holding up at all, best ball i've ever bought + i got it for 90.00 on ebay, the only bad thing is dry lanes and leaves 9 pins somtimes. If you are looking for this ball for very heavy oil then sand it down and drill the ball for max (most hook possible) and this will be a great condition ball.

Ok I bowl alot and had this ball for 7 months and it sucks bad. It can make you seem like a newcoomer to bowling. Now some people love this this ball alot but I don't at all. I finaly sold mine after two differnt drilling patterns. This ball is for heavy oil and will hook extreamly early. Being polished it stlll has no snap it just has a very smooth arc and will leave pins up. I will not recomend this ball to any body it is a waist of money, unless you want a ball life this.

Great ball when I first got it but this is crappy now...I don't trust Ebonite particle balls now, My X-Factor is not maxed out and outperforms the Aggression and it is maxed...I wish that I woulda got the Adrenaline. This ball leaves a lot of ten pins, I mean solid dead in the pocket ten pins. This ball can carry high unlike my Columbia Messenger. But this is a great example of a hyped ball, with a crappy coverstock. My friend just bought a V2 particle so I am curious on whether or not that ball with lose its coverstock grip too.

Leaves too many 10 pins when it does get to the pocket. Great out of the box, but takes up a lot of oil real quick. Don't recommend it if you are lazy about cleaning your equipment. I got the ball drilled up for maximum reaction and the only maximum reaction i get is it going straight down the lane on a third shift shot on synthetic lanes. I even slowed down and it still took a year for the ball to react. Although it hit like a tank, it leaves way too many 10 pins. Wasnt a good buy.

this is a great ball for heavy oil, especially on syntehtic lanes. it can be very forgiving and very hard hitting. it has a nice predictable roll and hook. the problem is that i cant use this ball as often as i would like to due to the problems i have with lighter oil patterns. on wood lanes i can use it for about 1 game before the shot burns up. this ball just sucks up the oil forcing me to constantly change my shot. great ball...but only in the condition its made for. i need five more words.<

for a low to medium rev player who has problems attacking heavy carrydown during marathon tournaments or the like this is the perfect ball. Let it loose and let it drive. the only potential down side to this ball is that like ANY big hitting ?/roll ball, if you get high, you're probably in a lot of trouble so i recommend playing light in the pocket because this baby, with the right shot, will generate sweepers all over the place. (I'm just adding this line of text so that i can make the 100 word minimum to post this entry..........................)

I have my Aggression drilled with the pin to the right of the ring finger. cg to the right of mid span. bomb location to the right of the thumb. weight hole on PAP. My ball speed is 23mph+. Lot of revs. I try to keep the ball in the oil by playing the third arrow. This doesn't produce a big sweeping hook, but it gets back to the pocket with all of its energy. I can play as far out as the 10th board and still get strikes. Any further out and the ball has to work too hard and loses some pop. Check the ebonite web site and use the ball the way they recommend and you won't be sorry. depending on how much oil there is, I'll play 30/15. If its a flood, then maybe 25/15 or 12. Now I have to find a heavy oil league or hope that the synthetics will allow me to use it.

The ball needs extra care just like any particle ball. Be sure to wipe the ball after every use or it will soak up the oil. It might be a great idea to have the ball baked to get the oil out of it. That is what I am going to do sometime. But for now, I will use it as a lighter backup spare ball. For myself, this ball works better on synthetic lanes as opposed to wood. It just depends on the bowler. Wipe your particle ball after every use or you will be throwing your money away. Take care of the ball. Is that a 100 words?

I bought this ball for one reason and thats for nights when my other equipment just doesn't seem to finish, be it heavy oil or heavy carry down. This ball works well in oil only, I can't use it on a clean shot or on burnt lanes. But for the specific reason I got this it does it's job very well. This ball hits hard and carries very well on those tough lanes conditions. If your looking for an arsenal ball for heavy oil get this, forget about everyday use though. I'd give this ball a 9 for lane specific conditions. As with most Ebonite Particle balls, this ball didn't last very long before it was burned out. What ever they use for their particles they suck.

Okay, I HATED this ball when I first got it. I was upset because I bought a ball i was thinking was going to be a hook monster & a heavy oiler. This is not that ball. Unfortunatly I dont have the luxury of being able to buy many balls, so I had to give this one a chance. I can say I am pleased that I did. This ball does not hook a bunch, in actuality my game pearl will hook more than this ball at times. That being said this ball has a very consistant reaction & doesn't overreact like my Game Pearl has a tendancy to. Spotty carrydown does not affect this ball one bit. Dont look for a big left turn into the pocket, this ball doesn't make drastic moves like that, it's always a very even arc. The magic of this ball is playing the inside line. On medium conditions when everyone is swinging the ball really wide, play this ball just inside the 3rd arrow right in the oil & you will like the results. I would encourage people who are considering this ball to look at the shot ebonite ha

Hooks way to much. When backends are breaking down, this ball will come high all the time. In simple words. This is a one game ball. That one game is the first game. Iam curently re drilling my ball for a straighter up shot. Iam a cranker with a lot of revs and this ball is too much for me. Good Luck if you get one, you will need it!!!! I bowl on wood lanes and Synthetic lanes and this ball reacts the same on both types of lanes. This is my experience with the ball, but you may have better luck than I did.

i love this ball it is 1 of my favorites. i bowl with it all the time but only in oil thoe some people say it dosent hook like this person: captianhook05.but i say it does hook. it is the best ball i have ever bought this ball is great for heavy oil their is only 1 person that i know who dosent like the agression i know 4 people that have that ball and 3 have excellent results. i shoot alot of 600's with it. if i were to get another ball i think it would be the adrenline.

This ball freakin sucks. I bought it for tournaments and after 30 games with it, it was already oil-logged. It started out hitting pretty good but after 40 games it hit like a marshmallow. I left 4 8-10's with it because it dies out in the backend. I mean come on it's sad when a white dot used for 10 pins hits harder than that. I have even had trouble selling it to my friends because no one wants it. I recommend that no one buys this ball because it eats up oil way too fast. It starts out a good hooking ball but after like 40-50 games it becomes clogged with oil and can only use it for light oil conditions.

Overall, I'd say that this ball is a great ball for heavily oiled lanes. My Aggression is drilled off label. I needed a weight hole drilled to make it roll sooner or it just skated too far. The center I bowl in puts 80 units (that's right... 80 units!!) of oil in the middle, and runs the pattern to 40 feet. Most everything will skate in that, however, when I slow the ball down, it still hits with authority and can kick out the corner pins. When the track dries out, I can move in and this ball performs fine. I prefer to play away from the track on a house shot anyway, so I need something to cut through the soup. This balls fits the bill.
