Ebonite Apex Addiction Bowling Ball

Tournament and league players can’t get enough of the confidence in heavier oil conditions that Apex Addiction provides. With 2% silica particle loading in the Big Daddy™ reactive resin, the new Mac Daddy™ particle resin coverstock creates more overall hook potential, a stronger break point angle and boosts Addiction’s strength in long oil, carrydown situations and “out of bounds” areas. The super low RG, modified Fusion core features lower core torque to promote the stronger revving motion required for more consistency in the midlane. The Motor The Apex Addiction utilizes a super low RG version of Ebonite's highly successful asymmetric Fusion™ core. The original Fusion core was modified by eliminating the lightbulb extension. The elimination of the lightbulb protrusion creates a small flat spot. This results in a reduction of the mass bias to .003, slightly more than a traditional pin out ball (.001). The lower mass bias increases the transition time from skid to hook to forward roll, allowing the ball to conserve more energy when it encounters friction. This conservation of energy provides a sharper breakpoint angle. To provide the early rev needed in longer, wider heavy oil patterns, the density of the inner core was increased to place to provide an RG that is near the lower ABC limit. The BOMB logo will be located roughly 6-3/4 inches from the pin, on a line through the Center of Gravity (CG). The Tires The Mac Daddy™ particle coverstock is a new formulation from the Ebonite R & D laboratory. The Mac Daddy features a combination of the new “Big Daddy” Wheel reactive resin and a low, 2% load of silica particles. The Mac Daddy cover was engineered to provide a completely different hook motion than Ebonite’s other particle coverstocks. The new reactive resin base (Big Daddy) was engineered to provide a stronger breakpoint angle and more backend continuation, while retaining predictability in the midlane. The silica particles provide consistent traction and are the same size, and in the same low volume-loading levels as found in the Big Bang™ and Big Easy™ particle coverstocks, found on the Apex Adrenaline, Reflex, and Intensity. The Addiction comes factory textured with 1200 grit sandpaper. The Mac Daddy particle coverstock is easily tunable with polishes and scuff pads to provide the desired breakpoint and hook potential. The Combination The Apex Addiction was engineered to provide the earliest, strongest ball reaction ever in the Apex line, giving the player the confidence to be aggressive in the long, heavy oil patterns. The Addiction will roll sooner than both the Apex Aggression and Adrenaline. The Addiction generates a breakpoint angle stronger than the Aggression, similar to the Adrenaline. The combination of the strong breakpoint and early roll will allow the player to play inside as well as outside angles (actual lane play will be determined by the player and the lane condition). Surface Texture Having the correct surface texture will enable the Apex Addiction to perform at its peak. The 1200 grit factory sanded finish is designed for heavy oil conditions and faster ball speed players. Test the box finish in your bowling center. Should your ball speed be faster or your lane condition be heavier oiled or a longer pattern (causing the breakpoint to be too far down the lane to produce the proper reaction) we suggest dulling the ball with Ebonite Powerhouse Matte Finish or Sandblaster, or scuffing with a burgundy scuff pad or 600 grit sandpaper. If your ball speed is slower or your lane condition is lighter oiled or a shorter pattern, the box finish may be too aggressive, causing the ball to lose energy down the lane. We suggest polishing with Powerhouse Particle Polish. This will delay the breakpoint, allowing the ball to retain energy longer. Please consult the surface friction guide for further information. Maintenance It is imperative to maintain a clean surface to allow the oil-displacing pores in the ball’s surface to function properly. Powerhouse Energizer Cleaner and Powerhouse Ball Scrubs contain a potent combination of organic and inorganic cleaners designed to deep clean the dirt and oil from the ball’s pore structure. Both products are legal for use during ABC competition as well as after the conclusion of competition. The micro-fiber, Powerhouse Oil-Free Towel will provide more absorption of oil and dirt than standard terry towels.

WOW! What a Ball. Went to the Demo Day's in Manassas Virginia, and used the Apex Addiction. Talk about HIT and CARRY!!! Light Hits, Brooklyn, and High Flush they all fell. The Addiction is real clean through heads, reads the midlane and has tremendous backend movement. And then BANG goodbye pins, hello strike X. The carry on this ball is wicked scary; messengers sent left and right killing any standing pin or pins! It just drives right through the pocket so hard! I really liked the ball in the out of box finish “Matte” better then polished. Was amazing on the medium condition for the first squad and when carrydown kicked in, the Addiction laughed at it. It got stronger in the second squad. Shot my First 300 game!!! in the second squad. In fact it hit so hard I threw the first five in a row Brooklyn, I kept tugging it and it still destroyed the rack. This ball will flat out HIT! Drilled with the pin and CG under the ring finger, Bomb two inches to the right.
