Threshold

Sometimes the path is straight and narrow... NOT SO MUCH with this new ball. Dyno-thane's new Threshold™ carves a wide passage through the oil toward the pocket. This new Single Density Asymmetric Core opens up the backends of just about any lane condition. The pins don't stand a chance. The doorway is wide open, all you have to do is step through. Bowlers looking for the length & recovery of pure reactive resin combined with the oil defying characteristics of particle resin need search no further.

I drilled this ball pozithioning the pin 4 1/2 in from my PAP to get more lenght and more violent motion on the backend. The ball does exactly what she was supposed to do. Has nice lenght, nice backend, hits hard and explodes in the pins. This is for sure the best medium - oily ball I 've ever owned. It is also logic that you have to change ball when the lane are getting dryier. I strongly recomend this ball to everybody who can find it. It is sad that the Dyno thane is out of the market so if you can get one, don't make the mistake to loose it.

Ball layed out 4 3/4 x 5 with pin above ring and MB 2" right of thumb. Tried all different surface preps but settled on 2000 abralon. This ball never made a big move off the corner and coudn't handle anywhere near heavy. On Medium shot ball was absolute money. I would reate it a 10 for medium but it was designed and marketed as a heavy oil ball. As a heavy oil ball it would be lucky to get a 5 from me. I love Dynothane and absolutely hate that they have been sold and may be discontinued. The NE10, Zr40, Au79, 44 Mag, Black Vendetta, and Crisis solid are some of the best balls you can buy in their class. This one however has been a dissapointment as I already have equipment that fills this spot. Sold mine after 2 weeks and no impressive practice/tournament outings. Great ball for medium not so much for heavy oil. Good luck with all your future bowilng adventures.

All I can say is WOW! I don't throw this ball very much because I left it in it's factory finish (dull). But when I do hit some oil this ball is just unstoppable! I am a tweaker and it's seldom that I can get a ball to recover when forced to play deep inside, but this ball will just about come back from anywhere. Trust is a must with this baby! It flares more than any ball I have ever owned - a good 7+ inches. I can't find an oil ring on it when it comes back - I'm assuming it has soaker technology. I've thrown twenty games or so with it and it still reacts like new! If you leave it in the factory finish, you MUST have oil. I still haven't thrown a complete set with the ball - it usually lasts about a game to a game and a half before it begins to burn up too early, or carry down begins to affect it's hitting power. Not the ball's fault - it's an oil hungry ball! I have to say that I haven't shot under 230 with this ball yet! It's just that awesome! FYI: I drilled this one

The Threshold is clean thru the front and really revs up in the midlane and just keeps on coming. Also Threshold is an extremely aggressive ball OOB factory surface 800 grit. But used it. with different drill pattern and surfaces will handle most conditions There is absolutely no ball in the Dynothane line that comes close. For those bowlers who love the Vendettas but feel they could use more hook on tight, fresh shots, This ball is for you The Nex-Gen cover is as versatile as any D/T has produced, it produces results at every finish . The ball has uncommon hooking ability to go with a strong backend motion generally only found in reactive equipment. To get a particle to go from side to side. Is a Goal in the making the Threshold looks as good as it performs. This ball loves to devour oil so I would suggest a longer<scri

Ball specs 15.12 pounds 3.02 TW 3.25 pin Drill specs 4 1/8" pin to pap 4 1/4" cap to pap 2 1/8" pin to midline 1 1/4" fourth hole 1" down and right of pap ending static balances around 1/2 oz. side and finger weight Oh my freakin' goodness. Recovery, carry, hit, the best of every world. Played around the 16 board for the entire day with zero movement resulting from lane conditioning change or breakpoint. Hooks about three to four boards stronger than a similar drilled Action Max. 279-299-223=801 outta da' box. Left a TON of extra pins in the third due to operator choking syndrome(ocs). If you're comfortable playing a little belly with your shot with ball speed in the mid 17's on a condition that's oiled to allow it, you're going to love this ball. Don't buy this ball, play with it on toasted lanes, and complain how it expends all of it's energy before it reaches the head pin. Thanks to everyone at Dyno-Thane for their work with this ball. I chose this layout for two reasons; I have had previous success with this layout using asymmetric cores plus I had just drilled a buds ball with the same layout to use as a yard stick. New core design, single density Threshold core 2.51rg - .055 rg diff with a new advanced Nex-Gen coverstock with micro particles. Interesting combo, also very close to another asymmetric core numbers from a competitor, also interesting for comparison. The box condit

My Threshold is drilled at approximately a 50 degree layout with the pin 3 3/8 from the PAP and the cap at 4 1/2". I have thrown the ball on three different conditions, a house shot, the PBA Regional #2 pattern (36') and what is supposed to be the USBC pattern from Nationals. I like the overall reaction of the ball, it revs up early and is very smooth off of the breakpoint. My Centrifugal Mass seems a bit jumpier in comparison. The ball hits extremely hard and keeps the pins low. Get close to the pocket and you stand a good chance of striking. I am pleased with the ball and look forward to using it on some longer patterns as I think this will be the balls strong point.

It’s great to see a company come out with a totally new core design. This ball just flat out hooks. The Threshold is clean thru the front and really revs up in the midlane and just keeps on coming. There is absolutely no ball in the Dynothane line that comes close. For those bowlers who love the Vendettas but feel they could use more hook on tight, fresh shots, this ball is for you. Great job Phil and Billy. You guys hit back to back home runs with the Magnum 44 and now the Threshold. Bowler’s PAP for high diff. balls: 4 ¾, up 3/8 Layout used: 4 ½ ” (pin) by 4 ¼ ”(CAD), pin 2 ¼ ” above midline of grip Recommended lane conditions: Heavy oil Any questions regarding this ball or any other please email me or call 1-866-884-9355.
