This low Rg core, combined with our aggressive TEC2 shell, creates a strong hook heavy oil. In fact it strikes the perfect balance between track flare and hook potential without flipping too quickly at the break point. The end result is a strong continuous arc into the pocket. The Rock has more hook than any other ball that Columbia 300 has introduced to date. The coverstock is also very versatile, producing more length and backend reaction when polished. The Rock - Offers 4-5" of flare with a low Rg of 2.513 and a medium differential Rg of .046. This low Rg core, combined with our aggressive TEC 2 shell, creates a strong hook heavy oil. A great ball. Although it has a tough time on oil on dry lanes it is something from heaven. IT has a great backend to it and doesnt leave much standing. This ball will pick up a good roll and keep going. Its easy to maintain with some Clean n dull. This is a great ball to have on the dry lanes. Altho you should think of pickin up a oily lane ball also. For this ball is crap on it. This ball should have never have been discontinued. My average went up from a 149- to a 167 in two weeks. Enjoy this ball!

I bought this ball after taking about 1-1/2 years off from bowling. I do have to say the stuff they are making today hook A LOT more than the stuff of a few years go. I bought this thing after seeing a few people who had trouble hooking a ball on sandpaper on few years ago open up the lane with this ball. In my opinion this ball is ok, but I'm not as big of a fan of it compared to a lot of other people on here. This ball can hook on just about anything, but I've had difficulty with the ball burning up too much energy when I try to play more boards to the right. I guess I am having the trouble with this one that everyone was complaining about with the La Nina on this review board. As long as I keep this thing in the heavy oil, and away from the outsides of the house conditions so common today I don't have any complaints. It will get into a good heavy roll and has outstanding hitting power. Overall, I'll give this one a 7, because it will burn up so quickly. UPDATE I have to say whe
