Columbia 300 Resurgence Bowling Ball

(30 reviews) Write a Review
Unmatched "Friction" potential - Mid lane move with a continous backend motion. No quit in this one! We built the Resurgence from the ground up. It's a great ball that's leading the rebirth of the Columbia 300 brand. We started with a new core. Finished it with a new coverstock. We even make it in a new plant. The Resurgence is the new standard in this industry for heavier volumes of oil. This ball is strong through the body of any pattern and continues hooking all the way through the pin deck.

Got this ball because of the reviews that it recieved. Watched all the videos that i could find on it too. The Resurgence from Columbia 300 is a hard hitting pocket smashing terror to pins. Second night out on league with this ball I shot a 300. Next week it was a 299. Thank you solid seven. I used the layout number one on this ball. It rolls smooth going down the lane. Then makes a hard turn to the pocket. Of course it wont like dry lanes at all. This is one of my favorites from columbia 300. I recommend this ball.

I never have used a columbia 300 and now that i have the resurgance i am definitly sticking to columbia 300 for my next few balls to see how it goes. Momentum here i come. Like i said before, if the lanes tend to get dried out, this ball is not going to be the ball of choice, go with something drilled much weaker to get through the heads and down the lane much further to give ur self a chance. This ball is a damn beast and i recommend it to all bowlers who know how to control a beast.

PAP: 4" UP3/4". Drilling layout #1 (Columbia Drilling guide) Gives me a number of different ways to attack the pocket. Ball will respond to changes in hang angle and release points. This ball does what you do with it. It will not work on it's own. When the lanes get a lot of run down or burn up, it will not.... WILL NOT... clear the heads. You will need to carry a second ball to complete a three to five game league set. Since I've picked this ball up, I've averaged 220 across the board. If this ball burns up in the heads, give it a 4000-grit polish finish. Ball carries a bit longer and becomes a bit more aggressive on the backend without become too angular. By the way, threw a 221, 256, 247 today.

Im just a little unsure that this would be my number one ball out of my bag... It hooks most of the time but the little tim I have had it, it has done differant things. It hits well when It is in the right spot but what ball doesn't? I guess I just had higher expectations of this ball.. Mabe I just need to figure it out better... Any one have the same issues get back to me...bigworm4682Q@yahoo.com . I just hate to be unsure of balls when im a 210 to 220 average bowler.. I know it wont hook mathch the bite or even the twisted but the paper stats of this ball were close to the fury..

This is first columbia ball that i have ever bought for myself. I will not hesitate again to buy one. I have thrown brunswick, ebonite and columbia now. This ball reacts the way i have always wanted the ball to hook for me. columbia may have won me over for good with this ball. Just make sure you put some polish on it so it doesnt burn all of its energy in the front part of the lane. My next purchase probably wont be for a while. I love this ball, especially when i throw relentless strikes. Bowling night cant come quick enough for me<scri

Get it to the pocket this ball will carry even from different entry angles. First 5 games I threw I left no single pins with a solid hit, I did leave a few splits, but that was me trying to push the balls limits! The surface can be easily adjusted to accommodate most medium to heavy oil conditions. One THS I bowl on has extremely dirty backends and this ball still finished stronger then anything else I have seen thrown there, the other house I bowl at has pretty quick backends, I added a little polish and BAM back to killing the pocket

Bowling ball was drilled pin above the bridge with the CG in the palm no kick out. Meaning nearly straight up. was made for strong continuation on the backend of the lanes which is what it did. main dislikes is that bought the ball and it cracked between the bridge. Pro shop plugged it and imagine that it cracked again between the bridge all the way up the ball. I absolutely loved this ball but the fact that it cracked wasn't very good. I believe this was probably outright the most carrying ball ive had in quite sometime. But i wouldnt recommend this ball to anyone with high revolutions because when i stayed behind it the ball left an extremely large amount of 9 pins.

ok im a 12 year old youth bowler and bowl at an all synthetic lane bowling alley. my average is only 108 but lately ive been bowling 130+ games. my first 5 games wre 144, 136, 150, 166, and 223! my first 200 game! i made 7 strikes out of 12. i didnt make a strike in the 4th 8th and 10th. i got a split in the 10th which suks because i could of made a 230 game. also in the 8th frame i left the 7 pin, whic magically stayed up, when there was spinin pins everywhere! still im grateful for a 223.<scri

Its a little much to handle at first but once you get it down its over for the pins. This ball hits like a derailed train! I went to a Columbia demo and left the Resugence for last because I didn't want a ball that I thought I could not control. The shot I bowled on was not your typical house shot. There was out of bounds outside 8 board and no pull area. Compared to the ball I normally on use on this condition I had 4 to 5 boards more area. Enough said? This ball does not skid flip on the back end but has a very strong mid lane roll with a smooth Arc to the pocket with unbeliveable carry potential. Let a friend Sean R, try it and he wanted to buy it on the spot he was so impressed. I was so impressed that I went out and bought another one.

It is really not made for dry lanes (!) So, you should buy it only, if it is not the only ball in your rack. It is not recommended for rookies, because it is very aggressive. It requires to put the ball exactly on the target point. But it is strongly recommended for experienced bowlers. Just touch Pin #1 and you have allways a chance to get a strike. As well high track players as high rev players will succeed.with this ball. It does not pick too much oil. So, you are not forced to clean it after every shot.

Well, after dropping 200 on a Legends ball (you can read my review if you want, but basically I didn't like the XS Power) I dropped another 200 on the Resurgence. Money well spent I'd say. Here's how I had the ball drilled: Pin just below my ring finger, CG out to the right about 45 degrees, sorry, don't know much about drillings. Ball driller called it 3 and 3/8 ths. The ball is predictable. The ball has excellent carry on off center hits. I am able to use the ball on medium as well as very heavy oil. I am able to move inside and swing the ball.

This is my second resurgence so far. the first resurgence i had was layed out pin above fingers 5" from pap and cg 3" from axis. had god lengt ánd very strong move of the pattern The second Resurgence is layed out pin above ring fingers 5 1/4" from axis and cg 3" from axis. this ball is a litle longer and still a very strong move of the pattern. most consistent of the 2. both balls is drilled same day and are both in box. now i have polished the first one op a bit to get god lengt and very smooth angular motion of the pattern, best on med - heavy.

this ball is great for heavy oil because of it's ability to get through the oil and turn every time. it has a strong continuous hook and has tremendous back end for a dull ball. if a cranker were to throw this ball he/she would have to stand in the left gutter to have a chance to keep it on the lane. and a stroker (myself) usually can stand on the last dot or a little left and throw it out to about 10 and it will come back hard. this ball is extremely aggresive and i recommend getting it if u struggle getting your ball through the oil. this ball carries solid hits really well. When this ball gets polished up it has a much better reaction in my opinion. it waits for a while and then its like someone kicked it left. with a rough buff i think it has the best reaction out of everything, on a ths it works really well it reads the midlane so you know its gonna hook and then gets to its spot and turns hard. then on a sport shot particularily the U.S. open shot it grabs the midlane and rolls r

I picked this ball up about two months ago and used it a few times on various conditions. This ball clears the heads nicely, with a sharp snap to the pocket. The hitting power is excellent, with a lot of power and mix. Even when there's carry down, this ball can handle it. I have it drilled with my pap 5 5/8's, with 5/8's up, pin directly over ring finger. This gives me length with sharp movement to the pocket. I have scored several 700's + and haven't used it, lately, due to purchasing other balls. I'm happy with this one, it appears to be a durable ball. Thanks.....

When I bought my last ball, I was told it would hook a lot even in the longest and heaviest oil, but when I threw it, I still had trouble with oil. I think that ball is made for better players than me. So when I bought this ball I was skepticle that it wouldn't break as much for me as the reviews and descriptions say it will. But one throw out of the box and I was convinced. This ball hooks more on oil than I thought was possible. I've never bowled well in heavy oil, and I thought it was just me, but I bowled a 245 the first game out with this ball (which was in heavy oil). Second set with this ball I shot a new high game (267) and new high series (696). Every player who has trouble bowling in oil needs this ball! Even if you are only a beginner, this ball will help you out!

I had my Resurgence drilled to profile #1 on Columbia's home page, and hoped that it would be a ball to use on really slick lanes. Previously to drilling my Resurgence I used an 800-sanded Red Zone on the slickest lanes, and I couldn't open up a single board. This one, however, allows me to play it on exactly the same line as I do with my BWP on my home conditions (medium-oily sport shot), which is over the 12th board with the breakpoint on the 8th board. It is simply relentless, it's as if there is velcro in the coverstock and unlike other dull balls it continues to roll right through the deck. The carry is amazing, I have yet to leave a pocket ten-pin with it although I have left a couple of nine-pins. It works on medium oil also, but you have to move way left and swing it out far to the right. I am very impressed and more than satisfied with this ball, it was the missing link in my bag!

Talk about disappointed. I got this ball with great expectations after reading all of the great reviews. I had it drilled and tried it on medium oil and wood surface (just to check if I could get cleanly out of the thumb hole). It felt good but I was a bit shocked that it didn't almost hook off the lane with only medium oil. I'm a full roller with meduim speed and revs and I know that this means I likely will never get the maximum from these new surfaces but I've had good luck with my V2 Power and my Hammer Anger (among others). I took it to a house that is synthetic and uses quite heavy oil. I was disappointed there also. This ball barely moved. I had previously been at this same house for a Ebonite Demo day and had gotten better results (quite a bit better) with a Total NV, a Gamebreaker and a Raid, even though they were drilled very generic...not at all for me and hadn't been cleaned, let alone resurfaced in all the time they were "making the rounds." When I went back to this house

First of all I love this ball, it out hooks anything I have thrown. I don't have that much hand, I am pretty much a stroker, and I have always had a problem with leaving pocket 7-10. But no longer with this ball. This ball continues to hook all the way through the pin deck. It also out hooks the Action Max by 5 to 7 boards. This ball is totally awesome to say the least. However I only have one complaint. About a month ago I was heading off to a tournament in Reno, so I thought I would give it a quick sanding down to its box finish which is 1000 Grit. I then went and bowled in the morning session of the tournament and noticed that the ball just didn't have enough bite for me to swing it out but it had to much bite to play down and in. So when I came back to the evening session I brought the ball down to a 500 grit, and that worked much better. But once I got home I knew it would be too much ball for my house shot at 500 grit, so I polished it up and then took it back down to a 1000 Grit

I really like this ball. It instills confidence each and every shot. Dry lanes are the only time I put the resurgence away. The resurgence is not the hardest hitting ball on every shot. When you hit the pocket, it hits like a tank. Miss hits don't offer the same power that other big hitters have on every shot. I wouldn't call this a sharp angular ball like the Brunswick Radical Inferno or the Ebonite Angular One. The hook is big and smooth. The resugence is not squirty or hard to control. Right now the resurgence is #1 out of 8 balls in my bag.

5 inch pin, under the ring finger, CG 45º to center of grip. Naturally, i threw this ball at 1000 grit first (out of box finish) ball rolled great, but didnt have much use for it in my home house, recently polished it from the 1000 grit with Ebonites Factory Finish. Ball looks great and rolls better than ever on the conditions here. extremely clean through the heads, reads the midlane nicely, and makes a smooth, even turn. The ball didnt seem to lose any hooking power, the polish merely delayed the breakpoint. I like this ball even more now that i have polished it. I am drilling another one very soon with a pin up layout, again, i will try it both 1000 grit and polished. More reviews to come.

5" pin, below the ring finger. center of gravity 45º southeast of the center of grip- low flaring layout, gets through the heads nicely for such a dull and strong ball, reads the midlans very nicely, not jerky at the corner but smooth and continuous. works great on the heavier oil condition across town where the flood the middle - real wood. Doesnt care much for the stronger backend at my home house (synthetic) Unmatched hooking power through the oil. Great ball for anyones aresnal - espically for someone who is rev - callenged. This is definatly one of my go-to balls for when the lanes are tight

This ball is The Rebirth of columbia 300. It has a continuous hook, but still very controllable. very predictable once you thrown the ball a few games. It will hit hard on almost every pocket shot (except when you hit high). This ball has a nice look going down the lane. If you can throw the ball hard (18mph) it is a good ball for dry lanes. Defiantly a must have if you looking for a ball that will hook on any condition. Has no problem getting to the pocket on heavy oil. this ball will make bowling look easy.

The top Dog from Columbia will not dissapoint those who favor this company. The tester of this ball (not me!) is a strong stroker that does put some side turn on his release. He likes the fact that he doesn't have to move much over the whole series to stay online but complains about the carry of this weapon. He's shot a few games in the 270's but has also had a few 170's because of the carry problem. The ball will jump off the dry but is pretty tame if you keep it inside 10. Columbia claims this ball will out-hook everything but they probably mean anything with a Columbia logo on it. Our house has been laying down a heavier volume of oil between the tens and unless he finds some dry at the break, it hits light and swishes them. This ball will probably fair better in the hands of a cranker or tweener as it doesn't have a flip at the end - just a powerful arc back to the rack. Flush = end pins but tight or light dances them quite well. If your looking for a strong control ball,
