After throwing the Piranha/c Lineup from 1994, 1995 and the Cuda/c lineup from 1995, The Quake is a performer, I put the Quake and the Quake pearl against 3 different Cuda/cs, 2 different Piranha/cs and even the Stingray/c. The ball stands as one of the more aggressive and more powerful out of them due to the higher RG and Diff. but If its not a Ceramicore, I'm not throwing it. The Quake series.... It will shake you game to the core!!!

You can rely on this ball on a variety of lane conditions especailly a bogus Crappy Tournament shot, provided it is not too dry with long oil on the outsides at the extreme backends. It does not like long oil at the backends on the 1st 8 boards.. Short oil patterns with moving backends are an absolute pleasure to destroy the Pins, Deck, and Pins on the lane next to you completely away.. I watched this ball get sent so deep once that it skidded and balanced on the 1 /2 board for what seemed an eternity than hit the gutter with such revolutionary like force that it jumped to hte lane next to our pair and knocked down 9 pins !!! AWESOME !!!

I owned 5 of these the only ball I ever bought more then 1 of!!! all of which drilled a little different then the other. This was the first reactive ball I owned and it made me a believer. the only thing I did not like was that fact that every one of the 5 I've owned crack around the Thumb and fingers. Columbia needs to start making again and I would use them again, keep it the same as the first ball (maybe a newer cover stock, I would even deal with the crover stock cracking as long as I could get a few more)

This is one of my all time favorite balls. It definitely needs some oil or it will hook off the lane. I have mine drilled to go very long and the turn sharply. And boy does it turn, and turn, and turn. It just continues to hook all the way through the pin deck. You must have oil for this ball or it will roll out on you. It is one of the few Columbia balls that I like and I wish I could find another one to replace my old one. It is similar to my Storm El Nino Gold, but with a little less overall hook.
