Although this ball was designed for medium-heavy oil, it is much better on a long medium pattern out of the box. When I first used this, when it was sanded, it was very good for that pattern. I tried it in a more heavier pattern but it just didn't hook back. I then played up the boards, it still couldn't hook. I don't know if it died on me or what. So then I polished to use it for lighter patterns, it works great it had more of a skid/flip reaction and had much more length. If you throw this ball perfectly in the pocket, it hits so hard. Even if I missed the pocket slightly, I still get good pin action. I recommend this to either a slower bowler or someone who is just starting out.<

The bowl is a great bowl for me. I mean, with this ball, I can learn alot with, plus get pretty good games. For example, I got a 233,269,and a 200 today in leagues. It was my high series so far (702). The bowl helps me learn marks and conditions very well. On the more dry type lanes, you may have to speed it up a bit, but you'll still get a good shot. Now in in City and State, I shot very well, giving me a Second place finish all around, and that is a great thing for me. The bowl is a great ball no matter what.

This rating is for a Beast with Mica LTD (regular - not pearl). It's the same as the currently sold Mica Beast except that it has a little bit more mica in the coverstock. I don't think it makes any difference at all. Very mild and controllable ball. Not much more aggressive than a urethane. I'd been using a Faball Berry Razor as my "go to" ball when the lanes were on the dry side or I just needed to get the ball farther down the lane. The Beast starts rolling a few feet earlier but doesn't move as much. A much smoother arc than the Razor. This will be an excellent ball for screaming back ends, or along the edge of a wet-dry wall. Where does it fit? With the Beast I have to stand about 5 boards farther right compared to my Columbia Spirit, and it moves a few boards more than a urethane Black Angle. This little Beastie is going to do double duty in my arsenal- dry lane AND all-purpose spare ball. It's going to replace my white-dot for those right side spares. Because it's mild it does
