I simply do not have anything to say that is good about this ball. This ball is absolute garbage. It bounces off the pins when it hits. This is a good ball if you like to shoot single pin spares or like to try you luck on some splits because believe me, you will see a lot of them with this masterpiece. This ball has literally turned me off of Columbia 300 altogether. I bought an Inferno shortly after this ball and it makes this ball look like something you could buy at K-Mart. I know others that throw this ball as well and needless to say, the Icon 300 is collecting dust in their bags as well.

The first time I threw this ball i was like wow I think I am in love, this ball grabbed the lane like no other I have ever had, I threw it for the first time last night and shot a 670 not bad for the first tme throwing it, Ihave had many 600s in my life so the set is not what amazed me it is the way this ball moves that I was thrilled with. If anyone says this ball is junk then they should give up bowling. This is the first columbia ball I have ever purchased I have always baught brunswick and there good to but columbia it is for me for now on.

Love its hitting power. I tend to put high revs so I didn't need a maximum hook ball. I just wanted a ball that can recover if thrown in heavy but med length oil. I'm a stroker so; a nice controlled arc is all I wanted to get out of this ball. The 5th pattern from the 7 popular layouts (axis leverage) did the trick. It starts to hook in the oil but is an even arc to the pocket. Not a violent recovery to the pocket with this layout. But, with about 16+ revs it gets there and the pins feel it when it does. To stop leaving the 10 I moved about 6" closer to the foul line. I've heard this also works... 6" farther from the foul line.<scrip

I had this ball drilled with stack leverage so as not to have it hooking at my feet and it works perfect. The ball goes down the lane far and then at the last possible moment it hooks directly to the pocket and explodes!! Oh yeah off one or two board on the mark and your lookin at trouble!! This is a great ball to throw on a fresh oil shot but don't fool around with it if the lanes are broke down or you will have to throw it 25 mph. Columbia came out with yet another great bowling ball.

Well, the first 3 games were miserable. This ball found the pocket alright... but leaves you a flat ten all day, the ball burns up all of it's energy on the front, and has absolutely nothing left on the backend. Get it polished if you're shooting on anything less than a flood. It just plains rolls. Make sure you know what you are doing when you get this ball. This ball isn't the most versatile ball there is, so if you need something to use in heavy oil, this is it. But don't buy it thinking it will be great on all conditions. Today I shot with it, and I finally figured out how to throw it! So now it's good, instead of a straight wrist, I cupped my wrist, and now this ball as some superior power. It absolutely is expoding the pins. BAM! :D Play up the boards with this baby and it scores. Don't try to play inside if you normally don't. DEFINITELY NOT recommended.

Good ball very much worth the money. Would recommend this ball to anyone who likes to swing the ball and see it come slamming back to the pocket. This ball hits extremely hard and is not forgiving sometimes. You will not like this ball if your speed is slow the ball need to be pushed down the lane because its hooking at your feet. When I say its not forgiving I haven't had a ball yet that would just never leave 10's or 8's but look out if they invent one. I do recommend polishing the ball it does not change the reaction just calms the ball down for the higher rev players.

with using all the balls,in the Icon family im very happy with all of them , they compliment my game very well and i change balls to match the shot. The new Icon 300 great ball when you need a little power to your game with an easy controlable hook and strong back end this ball will do the trick .I polished to give the ball a little more length and a stronger backend, as long as i am consistant with my ball speed, just know when to change line to the pocket nothing but dead pins after you release the ball, not for the faint at heart use with caution could be accused of killing pins.Good luck and great bowling Thanks Columbia 300 keep up the good work.

Another Icon?Is it the only design that Columbia has in 2003??There is nothing special between Icon & Icon 2 I have on hand.In fact, they work better than Cuda & REV on oil lane.Even better than Icon 300. If you are looking for a early break point.Icon 300 should be the choice. However, you can easily choose other Columbia balls to replace this ball on medium to heavy oil lane. If you put it on the dry to medium lane, only one fact.Overhook & lost backend in fornt of lane. Try previous Icon series ball, you'll see.

I did not feel the ball hit as well as the original Icon or the Icon 2. There really isn't anything special about this ball other than it is an early roller. Don't get me wrong the ball is not a pile of junk, I may just start the ball too soon to get optimum use out of it. The ball could possibly be terrific on a flood of oil, but I probably won't find that condition anywhere. Weaker releases should absolutely love it. If you could get any lenght through the heads to conserve some energy the ball should hit. Overall it is a solid ball, but not for me.

I just got this ball to go with my messenger ti and my el nino Xit. I have sort of an exotic drill. Right over the pin and some weight drills out of the side to make it leagle. My average with this ball ranges from about a 220, from a 204 that quite an improvment. I owe it all to my driller Gary. He makes the majic i just use what he gives me. I used it in dry lane and it had a huge back end. I threw it in oil and it had about the same. I made the mistake of throwing it when it was not clean and it never seemed to grab. I would recommend this ball to anyone who is looking for that extra power to put in your bag.

Reacted exactly how columbia says. Out of the box it really digs in. It allows high rev bowlers to play inside when no one else can. Polish it a little and it carrys every time you come in flush. my pin: 5" with a little finger weight. gets it a little farther down the lane but you still need to find some oil out there. Know when to put it away. You should seriously consider moving down to a 15# ball with this agressive coverstock or you'll have pins flying high off the deck. It also allows you to throw this ball a little harder which lets you keep it out of the bag a little longer. Just wanted to add that I am seeing other people on the net giving this ball a bad review........This ball is a great ball.....as long as you stay deep inside .....had people asking me what ball I was throwing since the carry down was so bad they couldn't get their ball to turn......meanwhile mine was hooking like crazy with mad carrying power.

I bought this ball with the hopes that it would hook a ton. I paid an arm and a leg for it and it performs like a 90.00 dollar ball. Its not a bad ball, don't get me wrong but as far as hook, this ball isn't as good as it is made out to be. Control is an issue as well, if you miss your mark just slightly don't even think that this ball will give you a good result and if you hit the pocket light, be ready to shoot the 7 pin because ball WILL not carry it. I bought this ball in hopes of taking my average way over the 200 mark, it has done nothing but destroy my average dropping it from 203 to nearly 192. Approach this ball with caution and if you can get it cheap, by all means do so.<scri
