I owned this ball from 2000 to 2002. It was the first ball I ever had drilled to fit my hand. My average built up from 150 to 175 with this ball and this ball alone. My average was still on the rise when my ball was stolen. Since, I have been using a Ti Messenger Pearl with mixed results. My average has dipped back down to 167-170 and I could never find the consistency i had with this ball. I searched high and low to no avail. Luckily, I found a used one for sale online (a steal at $29.95!). The ball was in mint condition having been recently resurfaced. My first game with the ball I threw 186, 192, 192 at a house I had been averaging 167. It is so nice to have this ball back in my arsenal. It works well on normal to dry conditions, but can be considered for oily conditions as well. One word of advice, keep this ball clean. It is easy to do with a towel and some rubbing, the color of the ball makes it easy to see the grime. Glad to have it back!

Overall I thought the ball was only mediocre. No matter how much hand I cranked into the ball it just could'nt make the turn. I attempted to play pretty much everywhere on the lane, and just couldn't find a good area for it. After throwing the ball for about a month on all kinds of different lane conditions, I decided to give it up. This ball just didn't have what it takes to be in my line up. In the past and present I've liked Columbia's equipment, but this ball was a horrible disappointment. I hope that Columbia can bury this ball in they're past and come out with some better new innovative bowling equipment.

For those who care about such things the color is super. Now for ball reaction. This ball get good length and makes a predictable move to the pocket. No skid/snap as with most of my resin equipment. I have drilled two so far and both perform wonderfully. No disappointments with this ball. Like I said no skid/snap for a resin ball - just as advertised - I just didn't believe it until I threw it. Just as adverstised. Does not get skiddished or over/under like some resins. This ball hits the light pocket and carries very well. Of course depending on how late it breaks and the angle you can leave some corner pins. Not the balls fault just the wrong angle. Great ball on fresh conditions and then put away through the transition period. When the heads break down you can bring it out again. Clears the heads well, pushes down the midlane, and makes a powerful move to the pocket. <s

This ball does it all..adjust your feet a few boards and you can throw this baby on all lane conditions. Looks good while it is reacting good. Very smooth and consistant. I have other balls but I never have to throw them cause I have never been on a pair of lanes that this ball couldn't handle. It gets excellent length, and has a vey good backend to it. The roll on this ball is so smooth that you know when you throw a good shot the second it comes of your hand. I imagine that it could carry a little bit better, but then again I could probably throw it a little bit better as well. I will definantly always have one in my bag. I threw this ball for six years until I cracked the bridge...cant wait to get ahold of the revised version.<

Just got this ball for reverse block, sport and wet-dry tournament conditions. It is drilled reverse stack to make it go longer with 1+ oz finger weight. With this drill and the superflex coverstock you get GREAT control, a clean move and roll THROUGH the pins -- if you put some hand in the ball. Why Columbia discountinued this ball is beyond me; it hits hard, rolls clean and smooth and packs punch beyond what I expected for the coverstock and drill. You can probably pick one up, with inserts, drilling, shipping and tax for $120-130. For the price, the best ball on the market, if you like go long and snap balls -- and I do.
