I bought this ball in the mid 90's when I decided I needed a 16 lb ball instead of what I was throwing. When I first got it, I was a straight bowler and was used to just firing the ball like Roger Clemens. I had this ball drilled as you might think then...."I want it to go straight"....and so it is drilled like a house ball basically. Sometime within the next couple years, I convinced myself that I needed to learn to hook the ball if I was ever going to be any good. I struggled with it (being how it is drilled) but I slowly got the hang of it. Most people would see the drill pattern and say....if you can hook this, you'll hook a reactive ball pretty good!.... I used this in my league for almost a year before I decided to get a reactive (Thunder Road!) but I loved it when I could throw it. If anything, you could use this for spare shots if you ever come across one of them nowadays. On medium to heavy oil, it might as well be a sheet of ice---it won't move at all.
