I was mexican junior champion in 1989 playing with this baby, it was the very best of its time, now I use it for 10 pin. For current synthetic lines it would not be useful, maybe on old wooden lines u may have some fun playing with it. Good control, predictable performance, good pin carry but it does not hits as new particle or reactive resin ball that are now on the market. It is a ball for begginers because will allow them to have predictable performance on light oil. I hope Columbia releases a new version of this all time classic (the black, red and limited versions)

This was THE ball back in the early 80's. On those conditions, it was a powerhouse. Columbia made a ton of variations of this ball (Slate U dot, Wine U Dot, Vector 2, Vector 1, Shadow,...... etc.) It along with the White dot seems to always be in production in one form or another. In its day, it was a m onster ball, but with todays conditions it is a spare ball with memories of those better times when it was the first out of the bag. Now it stays in the back of the closet, but if an oil machine breaks, they don't oil between shifts of a tourney, or if someone challenges you to a game on the carpet, pull this one out and let it hook and carry like it did in the "old days"
