This ball is great in oil. It can play on the first arrow and still hit the pocket. You can also move into the middle of the lane and throw it out without putting it in the gutter. Eats up oil quickly. After the first game I had to move inside and pay on the oil, This ball will cut out a spot for itself but too quickly. Make sure that this ball is not the only one in your bag unless you don't mind moving. It's great at the begininning or end of a series. Probably not the best thing for a beginner as it is inconsistent.

I recently purchased the Wizard on Tuesday. Took the ball out that night and threw a series. Lanes were very dry, I typically stand on the 20 board and throw over 15. I ended up on standing on the first arrow from the left throwing over fourth arrow. Ball went long and hit like a tank. I am a cranker with 16-17mph ball speed and 200-300 rpms. With the Wizard it allowed me to play through the swamp in the middle and into the dry but still recover strong. I really enjoyed the fact that I know it still had enough energy in the backend to carry well. I have the ball drilled with the pin under the ringer finger, for a niec smooth arc to the pocket. Don't under-estimate this ball it is a great value for someone looking for a benchmark ball. This one might be the only ball I throw for the next year.

FACTORY FINISH: I only got this ball a few days ago, and it's the bomb. It really has magical hooking ability, no matter what oil length and amount of oil. I rolled a 197 in my second session with this ball, which isn't bad considering that my record is 213, and it seems to be pretty easy to use, just as long you remember it's a real hooky ball and will grab hold of the lane when it'll get to the oil-less section of the lane. It seems to catch a dry board where ever it's going in the lane, makes a big snap and is on it's way to raise hell among the pin deck. If you just get your aim right and there's enough oil, it's a sure strike. However, there's a negative side in this powerful skid/snap motion. It's called a split. Should you bowl on too lightly oiled lanes it either goes high to the 1-pin leaving a big split or it pulls a Brooklyn leaving a 5-pin all the time. I just can not get the 5-pin to fall anyhow, though my spare/backup ball can do a pretty nice Brooklyn strike

Decent ball for the money. I liked the overall ball roll and reaction. Controllable and fairly easy to read. For some odd reason I couldn't get this ball to carry. It sounded good, looked good, and even reacted decently, but it just wouldn't carry. I left everything on the back row and even pocket splits. Out of box, polish, sheen, etc. and even a redrill (weaker) didn't make one bit of difference. Perhaps the ball was just a bad match to my game. Other guys have had good luck with this ball - really strange. I personally can't really recommend this ball.

This is a great ball from brunswick. I highly recomend this ball for anyone who bowls in sports patterns or bowls on a variety on conditions this ball is very versital ball. I have been up 1st arrow all the way to inside of fourth arrow. I also think this would be a great ball for someone who dosn't have alot of hand in the ball looking to get into more hook for a cheaper price.I think anyone who buys this ball will be very happy with it as long as there pro shop lays the ball out for the way you throw the ball.

This ball reminds me of my Track Slash in a way. It rolls a little early and gives a nice controlled hook to the pocket. Slightly harder hit than the Slash. The cover is darn durable. It still looks new after 2 months of bowling twice a week. I forgot to mention that I keep it polished. The cover is strong and the polish gives it a little more skid snap without over/under reacting. IMHO polish is a must if you are bowling on any condition less than medium oil. The BVP series is nice. Brunswick has a good selection in this price class.

The BVP Wizard combines PowerKoil 18 coverstock with the proven BVP medium-RG core system to create a ball reaction that superior compare to Nemesis and Punisher. Wizard delivers more length and more angular and Backend Reaction PowerKoil 18 coverstock and new blue color. . Gives the Wizard bite and stronger back-end recovery. Delivers more total hooking action than any of the BVP’s. It rolls even and surefooted. In My Opinion!!! Med Lane is Amazingly constant, Even, and Readable. Matches up well on medium-dry to dry conditions When dulled: The BVP Wizard hooking action will increase and its arc will become more even. Creating a better match-up for oily lane conditions The new BVP Wizard will send the pins into a frenzy While most Medium hook potential balls struggle when encountering carry down, The Wizard bites through it and still delivers pin punishing power.
