Brunswick BVP Mammoth Bowling Ball

Technology The BVP Mammoth brings two new technologies into the BVP line, Multi-Sided Symmetric Core Technology, and Activator High Load Particle Coverstock to create performance that improves on the reaction of balls such as the BVP Goliath and Swamp Monster. Multi-Sided symmetric core designs have been used in Brunswick High Performance balls since 2000. Featuring exotic shapes that are easy to drill, the Multi-Sided shape is locked into the outer core, leaving little chance for core separation. The Rocket Core used in the 14-16 pound Mammoth pushes the RG to a lower level than previous BVP balls. Brunswick research has shown that lower RG’s are a better match for today’s lane conditions, which often include: high efficiency lubricants, daily full-lane stripping and longer, higher volume lane oil patterns. In this environment, lower RG’s improve mid-lane traction and reduce over/under reactions at the breakpoint. The Mammoth utilizes a High Load Particle version of Activator

The Mammoth has been lurking in the shadows of its hi-performance brethren. Don't overlook this ball. OOB is way too aggressive. Sand it to 2000 or 4000 Abralon and it will come to life. BrunsBob himself recommended sanding the Mammoth to fit your conditions. In the past, I would never sand a hi-load particle. Times have changed and those days are gone. New particle coverstock technology allows the bowler to alter the surface and tweak reaction. This ball is a jewel once it is adjusted for the right conditions. Brunswick has great customer service and qualified personnel to give layout suggestions.

I got this thinking it would be a nice replacement for my Scorchin' Inferno. I was totally wrong. I had this drilled with the strongest drilling Brunswick lists. I stood 20 and shot ten thinking this thing would come back strong. When I threw it, it went down the lane and kept on going. It didn't even hook. It just kept dead straight, and hit the 6 pin. Keep in mind this was one a drier house shot. I was totally confused. I played around with this for a while and finally came up with something. I stood 40 and shot 20. It went down and flipped over just enough to come into the pocket. I've since experimented with it more and this is the only thing that works for it. I had toyed around with the idea of getting it redrilled using a different layout, but I figured that since I don't really have any other ball that does this type of behavior I should keep this for when that type of shot is needed. Overall, I like it. I think I would like it even more with different layouts, but I d

Great ball from Brunswick for heavier oil. Wasn't sure if this ball was going to be too strong for me with the lower rg core considering how strong the Goliath was, but I sure was surprised. This ball is so much easier to read and adjust to. I was also surprised at how strong it was considering I drilled it a little weaker for myself. It's drilled basically a 5" - 60 degree with the weight hole 2 -1/4 down my val (based off a PAP of 5 over and 3/4 up). Initially used a 3/4 bit 2 -1/2 inches deep but later opened up to a 7/8 bit 3 inches deep, and the ball finishes beautifully. Strength and Control... what more could you want in a bowling ball.

i had mine drilled with a pitched flare hole and an up the boards power shot on heavy oil. i really like the way the ball holds line and then drives to the pocket. i bowled with this ball on a 45ft flat shot with heavy volumes of oil. i then bowled on a crowned pattern with 46ft of oil. the ball reacted controllably, and was very easy to adjust. the ball had very predictable backend reactions and also did not burn the line up i played on the same mark for 4 games. a must have for the price and ability.
