Reaction Characteristics: The Navy Quantum with ProActive DTX-1 overstock offers a higher hook potential than other Reactive but with a more skid/snap arc than MTX ProActive. As with all ProActive ball the Navy Quantum is more resistant to tracking than Reactive Urethane. With the arrival of the Navy Quantum with ProActive DTX-1 coverstock, we have completed the introduction of the first generation of ProActive coverstocks. ProActive technology increases the traction in oil, while decreasing the over-reaction off of the driest boards on the lane. The result is a progessively more even reaction and increasing hook potentials as we move from Reactive coverstocks through the DTX-MTX-ETX ProActive series. When challenged by heavy oil or over/under reactions associated with dry tracks or freshly stripped backend, move up the ProActive series towards ETX. When challenged by early hook move down the ProActive series toward Reactive coverstocks. The traction effect generated by ProActive, provides a readable reaction that also creates a signifcant increase in overall hook for virtually any bowler style on a wide variety of lane conditions, even when shined. If the bowler desires more hooking action out of the box, ProActive can be sanded and will provide a cleaner front end reaction than dullreactive balls, while maintaining strong mid-lane and back end reactions. ProActive is a significant improvement over reactive urethane technology when used dull as it deilvers a reaction that is much less sensitive on the front part of the lane. Most of the increase in hook will come in the middle and backend parts of the lane, offsetting any early reaction that may be created by sanding the ball.

This is a great hitting ball.Rolls very close to a big hooking reactive only smoother.Takes over under out of play, gives good area to the pocket . Great ball for the nights when you're not on your game ,this ball doesn't float even when users consistency is off. Not recommended for heavy oil but rolls great for shots heavy -med to med-light and all in between. This cover seems to last forever mine has many games on it and still rolls nicely. Only needs freshening up once in a while and back where it started. This cover like all brunswick proactives is a bit hard to polish but if you like to roll a dull ball changing grit seems to work at changing breakpoint.

I have a Navy Quantum with a 3 to 4 inch pin drilled stacked leverage with a weight hole on the axis. This is a very mild particle ball that gets through the heads quite well thanks to the DTX-1 coverstock and makes a very hard turn when it hits the dry - you would almost think it's a reactive. For me, this is a very condition specific ball that borders on the uncontrollable otherwise. The Navy has such a sharp entry angle, that it almost always carries the corner pins. The coverstock is also very soft it can scratch and compress easily.<sc
