I got this ball when it came out in 1992. The box finish was, of all things, dull! No simple ten-pin ball, this. This baby was ready for action! I swear, on the typical league shot circa 1992 this ball OUT HOOKED my urethane stuff. I had Ebonite Black Turbo and a Red Urethane Hammer that took second fiddle in the hook department to this Purple monster. It even pushed my new Excaliber in the amount of hook, though not as sharp nor as late as the X. Actually, the ball in the box finish was way too much to use regularly, so I polished it good in the Lustre-King. Tamed it down quite a bit--it looked beautiful with its shiny cover, but the impressive "hit" that it had dull was reduced also. Also, I recall that it would pick up the circular impression from a ball cup in hot weather--that was weird. If they still made this ball, i'd buy one in a minute.
