900 Global Altered Reality S84 pearl coverstock Disturbance asymmetric core The Altered Reality is as advertised and expected. A very strong, high performance, asymmetric core ball that can fit as the strongest pearl in many bags. The Altered is a great compliment to the original Reality. The strong cover helps the ball get downlane but still provides a controllable backend. Bonus...it seems to help me with the wet/dry. I assume that is because the cover is so strong that it is still getting a little traction in the oil, instead of going full-out skid/snap. Currently this is my go to big pearl. Ball down from my Nova, ball up from my rst x2.

I drilled up my ALTERED REALITY 45 x 4 x 30. I have lightly hit this with 3000 abralon. My intent was to have a big core pearl that would be strong and continuous on the back end. The ALTERED is just that ball. I have thrown this on several conditions including PBA50 Johnny Petraglia 46 foot. The ALTERED is continuous compared to my heavy hitters like the NOVA and PROTON PHYSIX in that I could go to it when those 2 big oil monsters were starting to lag in the back end and straighten out. I can see even going down to 1500 or 2000 with this to smooth it out if the condition is more flat in the middle and you need to smooth it out in the back.

Today we will be reviewing the 900 Global Altered Reality. The 900 Global Reality has a low RG value of 2.49 a high differential of 0.052 and a low intermediate differential of 0.018. The Altered Reality has the S84 Response Peal Reactive cover and the Disturbance Asymmetric Core. The Disturbance core was designed with a focus on a shape that will fill a space with the least amount of material, yet still yield the RG/Diff values that all bowlers need. The S84 Response cover promotes up to 20% larger pore sizes which in turn ensures maximum traction on heavy oil. In addition, the Altered Reality will rival the original Volatility Torque with the S86R cover that was an asymmetric hybrid. In the videos you will see how the core cover combination comes together with an early revving motion in the heads combined with a strong backend reaction. I did a ball comparison to the 900 Global Reality, 900 Global Zen and a Strom Dark Code on two different patterns, on lane 1 is the PBA Dragon Pattern and Lane 2 is the house shot Kegel Stone Street. First up is the 900 Global Reality, the Reality for the purpose of this video at box finish, on both lanes you will see how the Reality is stronger in the midlane and starts up quicker but down lane the Altered Reality is stronger. To get the Altered Reality to blend the pattern better and start up quicker try hitting it with a 500/4000 Abralon if the Altered Reality is still too strong and burning up leaving the 10 pin try a 5000 Trugrit pad. In comparison to the 900 Global Zen, the Zen will be a litter more smoother through the midlane due to having a symmetric pearl coverstock but a touch more reactive on the backend giving you an option to open up your angles. The Storm Dark Code drilled pin down can give an option to ball down from the Zen when the lanes become a little dryer and more cliffed just being a very smooth read through the midlane and a great option on patterns to keep your mark in front of you. In my bag the Altered Reality will sit below the Reality on a heavy oil pattern or a fresh house shot depending on how much oil is in the mid lane. Then you can ball down to a 900 Global Zen then the Dark Code.

900 Global Altered Reality Ball Review Hey everyone, I'm back with another ball review, and this time it's for the Altered Reality and in 15 pounds this ball is wrapped in the S84 Response Pearl Coverstock and comes 1500-grit polish with an RG of 2.49 and a Diff of 0.052 and .018 Mass Bias Layout for this ball is 4.5 X 4 X 2.5 Let me first start off by saying this has been one of the most fun balls that I have thrown and haven't had that feeling since Storm's Phaze III. It started out by shooting 299 game one out of the box I knew we had a winner. This ball has the Disturbance core which is one the stronger side and the S84 coved responses to friction very well with out being out of control. This ball I see can be thrown by many styles and thrown on different parts of the lanes. Color me impressed. I haven't had a shiny asym in my bag for quite some time. I was reluctant to give the Altered Reality a chance but after seeing how it performed on tour I had to give it a try. It filled a giant gap in my bag that I have been needing for a while. It is tournament season and with all the different patterns I am bowling on I am surprised by how versatile this ball is. It gets down lane, takes a sharp corner but it doesn't over shoot the pocket. I really hit my stride with the Altered game 5-6 when we had to move way left and pitch it right. It controlled the mid-lane INCREDIBLY well.

Perfection in a bowling ball! I love this ball that much!!!! It's the definition of a ball that hooks to me. I get all the benefits of a shiny cover with the hook in oil of a solid. The Reality series is at the top of the list of balls ever made only 2 balls in.

Diff • .018 Layout • 4 x 4 x 2.5 Tester PAP • 4 ½ R, 3/8 D Tester Axis Tilt • 12° Tester Rev Rate • 325 Test Pattern • 42' THS (Typical House Shot) • Modified, Kegel Stone Street 900 Global continues its Tour Engineered Series success with the release of the Altered Reality. The "Altered" Reality is built on the tenacious Disturbance Core (which debuted in the original Reality) and is wrapped with the proven S84 Pearl Response coverstock. This exceptional combination makes the Altered Reality a powerful weapon. So, let's see how it destroyed a THS! The Disturbance Core found in both versions of the Reality is a unique core design that delivers an exceptional motion for straighter players like me. I like how this core builds momentum in the mid-section of the lane and then turns that energy into unrelenting power as it makes it turn off the pattern. And once in the roll phase, there is no stopping the Disturbance Core. It rolls firmly and takes no prisoners as it clears its way through the pin-deck. If you're rev challenged and like playing down and in, you will appreciate this core's ability to mimic that purely "mass" destruction like that of a 16 lb. ball. The S84 Pearl Response Coverstock wrapped initially around the Volatility Torque goes beyond your typical "Pearl" coverstock. With its larger pore sizes and 1500-grit polished finish, the S84 Pearl reactive makes the Altered Reality an excellent choice for a typical league night! On a fresh THS, the S84 doesn't hesitate through the front part of the lane. Instead, it clears the heads decisively and continues to carve its way through the mid-lane with smooth traction without being overbearing. Then, as the pattern began to break down, I liked how the S84 didn't over-react in the mid-section or "jump" off the exit. Surprisingly, the S84 blended quite well through a typical league night. And being a higher-speed, low-rev player, the S84 kept me nicely in my comfort zone through the whole night. Although the box 1500-grit surface worked quite well for me, one of the appealing attributes to the S84 Pearl response coverstock is that it is a Pearl "reactive" coverstock. As a result, it handles surface adjustments easily. So, don't be afraid to dial in the S84 Pearl surface to fit your speed and rev rate. A little cut here or a bit of polish there can seriously make your Altered Reality explode for you all night! In conclusion, the Altered Reality is another great stallion out of the 900 Global stables! The Altered Reality is an excellent choice as it will undoubtedly stand by itself. Further, it will also serve as a great companion to the original Reality when those pesky ten pins just won't go down! Finally, for straighter and down-and-in players like me, the Altered Reality delivers results you can count on and a striking power that will keep you in the hunt all night long. So, talk to your local pro shop operator today and see the success of the Altered Reality for yourself! You will be glad you did! The new ball in 900 Global line is the Altered Reality. I absolutely love the original Reality. Which was a huge success on PBA tour and bowlers throughout the country. Altered is the pearl version with the S84 coverstock. I drilled mine with a pin down 5 inch pin from PAP. Man this ball likes friction and this ball might be the strongest off the spot ball I've drilled for along time. The Altered is just a very good ball period. I have drilled a bunch of Altered's in the shop for all different styles. No matter what your style or rev rate this ball just seems to kick the ten out better than a lot of big balls i've seen in awhile. So drill up one of hottest balls out there. I loved so much the solid version of the original Reality. It's my favourite strongest ball. Now his pearl version, the Altered Reality, is a realy good complement. The Altered Reality might have maybe the strongest midlane roll of any polished ball that I have ever thrown. Even she is shiny, this thing gets through the fronts but then absolutely just digs into the middle part of the lane. The altered have a big rounded predictible reaction. For me, it's a perfect ball to use on a fresh medium oil house shot, but sometimes it is even too much for that too on my bowling center! So she will be perfect for tournaments in others bowling center who will have more oil than mine. Another 900G balls who must to have !!

The Asymmetric Disturbance core is wrapped in the pearl version of the s84 Response cover. This ball harnesses the power of the disturbance and moves it to the backend to give you the most down-lane shape of any high performance ball currently on the market. I tested the Altered Reality on our high volume house pattern. Unlike most Pearl cover balls I had no issue throwing the altered on a fresh lane. I did have to trick it a little with my hand to keep the ball from over-finishing while playing straighter angles on the fresh. Rather than skidding too far or jumping off the friction early, the ball got back even on the fresh lane and left me a couple of 9 pins. However as the lanes transitioned the ball just got better. This ball should be every pro shop guys "go to" for bowlers who want a strong ball with a lot of down-lane motion. Particularly guys who are a bit more speed dominant as it is strong enough for the fresh but keep coming around as you move in.

Layout: 40 x 4 1/2" x 40 The Altered Reality might have the strongest midlane roll of any polished ball that I have ever thrown. Even shiny, this thing gets through the fronts but then absolutely just digs into the middle part of the lane. For me, this makes it plenty of ball to use on a fresh medium oil house shot, and sometimes it is even too much for that! When there is enough oil I can play it straighter, but then the surface does allow me to chase it left without the ball losing too much energy, as long as I follow the oil. Our house does not have a ton of oil, so my arsenal is currently anchored on the top end by this ball, followed by the Phaze 4 and Wolverine. Both of those balls are any easy step down from the Altered Reality.

The Altered Reality is the newest addition to the 900 Global 900 series and not until recently became one of my favorite balls! The Altered Reality is a big asymmetrical ball. It has the Disturbance Core, which is also in the Original Reality. What differentiates the Altered Reality from the Reality is the S84 Response Pearl Reactive cover stock. The S84 Response Pearl cover stock helps conserve energy for the back-end. At the same time, the Disturbance Core wants to start up quickly. I was excited for this release because this combination is the best of both worlds! The Altered Reality reads the mid-lane and still has a lot left for the back-end. The Reality was my go-to bowling ball on sport patterns when they got squirrelly and just bad. With my low rev rate (300) and wanting to play straighter, the Reality just ran out of energy before it got to the back-end. My Altered Reality allows me to play closer to the friction and allows me to chase the pattern left. It is strong enough to get through the oil if I miss left and forgiving enough when I miss right. It is not a dry lane bowling ball but a versatile big hooking bowling ball. The longer pattern or higher volume, the Altered Reality will be in play. Until recently, the Altered Reality was blocked from my fab 5 bags. After getting it drilled, I felt like it never matched with any conditions and always seemed to find a better reaction with another ball. Everyone loved this ball except me. With my fear of FOMO, I decided to take it with me a couple of weeks ago to a tournament, and I can't get it out of my hands now! The Altered Reality is becoming my favorite ball fast! The layout is 5 X 4 X 2 ½, and I knocked the shine off by hand with a 2000 grit pad. My PAP is 5 5/8 over and ¾ up.

900 Global Altered Reality Ball Review by PJ Haggerty After having a lot of success with the original Reality, I was excited to see a pearlized version of it called the Altered Reality. Using the same Disturbance Asymmeetric core as the engine and wrapped with the S84 pearl coverstock, the Altered Reality is a high performance, strong addition to the line and rolls great. With an RG of 2.49 and differential of .052, I've have had a lot of success on medium-longer patterns with a good amount of volume. I've drilled one so far and love it. I mapped it out as 5 x 4 x 75. This puts the pin above my middle finger and the mass bias just to the right of my thumb. The Altered Reality is a perfect compliment to the original Reality, Zen, and Phaze 4. Because of the big core and low RG, this ball needs some oil on the lane to remain controllable. I'd recommend using it mainly on medium-longer patterns because of how strong it rolls. If you need a high performance asymmetrical ball with a pearl cover that never stops down lane and can be used on multiple patterns, the 900 Global Altered Reality should be the next ball you drill!

900 Global Altered Reality Cover: 1500-Polished S84™ Pearl Reactive Core: Disturbance™ (Asymmetrical) Color: Salmon/Black/Silver Review: 900 Global continues to put out quality equipment that can be enjoyed by all levels of bowlers. That is no different when you look at the Alerted Reality. This ball is a beast. If you take polish off, you get a smooth rolling pearl that can be the first ball out of your bag in some cases. If you leave the polish on you get a strong backend motion from this ball that is great for when the fronts start to burn up. Lower average bowlers will find this to be a great high-end ball that is very controllable for them. While higher average bowlers will find this a great second ball out of the bag when their Reality begins to become to much ball for the lanes. I would suggest everyone have this ball in their bag. Altered Reality: Cover S84 Pearl 1500 polished Core: Disturbance Core RG: 2.49 Dif. 0.052 PSA: 0.018 Layout: 30 x 3 ¾ x 30, Speed Dominant, Rev Rate 275-325 PAP: 5 ¾ over 1" up. The new addition to the Reality line up the Altered Reality. I will say this is the 2nd asym pearl ball that I am a huge fan. I like to say that the Altered is a Zen on steroids. Has a very similar ball motion but a stronger backend motion. The Altered has the ball motion and shape that I really like. The cover is strong enough to get through the fronts on fresh conditions and stores enough energy down lane to get through the pins. This is a ball that can be played on various parts of the lane based on your style of play. If you are a fan of the Reality as most PBA players are your going to love the Altered. Another great addition to the Global line up.

It didn't take long to feel those Hyper Cell Fused feelings throwing the new Altered Reality. And for most people who had the chance to throw the Hyper Cell Fused, you will be far from disappointed with this one. Featuring the Disturbance asymmetric core with the S84 Response cover, this is the perfect compliment to the Reality. It's a pearl big ball, and it acts like one. Strong mid lane motion that doesn't slow down. I love big pearl assym's that get up and go, but clear the front section of the lane faster. I love the Reality, but it needs quite a bit of oil to keep it in play. The Altered Reality is almost as strong but will allow you move left further without sacrificing motion through the pins. If you want and like a big 1-2 punch on the higher end of ball reaction, pair up this beast with the Reality and you will be set. The Altered Reality features the S84 pearl coverstock and strong Disturbance asymmetric core at a 2.49 RG, .052 differential and a .018 intermediate differential, and it's exactly what you'd expect it to be. The Altered is reminiscent of the original Reality, just obviously a shiny pearl compliment. The stronger cover formula still gives you the length and response you want out of something shiny, but adds extra strength and a lot more wet/dry blending. Because it gets more traction in the oil, it's not as sensitive to the dry, and this makes the reaction more consistent, it's not going to really jump on the dry but then get lazy in the oil like lower traction covers can. It's the perfect step down from the bigger balls in the lineups like the Reality, Proton PhysiX, and Gem, it's on par with other stronger pearls like the Dark Code and Parallax Effect, and a step up from the medium strength cover balls like the Rubicon, UFO Alert, RST X2, and Rubicon UC2. The Altered has big shoes to follow with the Reality, which I feel is possibly the best ball of 2021. The Altered Reality has impressed me so far. It seems that I can get it to the pocket on almost every pattern, which shows its versatility. The Altered is going to be a great compliment to the Reality. During testing, Ryan tested it all over the lane. It showed to be best inside 4th arrow on the house pattern at Fulton Bowling Center. I think the Altered Reality is in that camp of must have balls. It will fit the strong asymmetrical ball slot in your tournament bag. #Stormnation

Josh Shoemaker
Hey everyone, this is Storm staff member Josh Shoemaker here again with another ball review for the Altered Reality. As always, I would like to thank Storm for providing the equipment I use every time I step out onto the lanes and I Am Bowling for making sure I always look good no matter what! Today I will be bowling on a standard medium to higher volume house shot in a new center. This will most likely be where a majority of my videos will be recorded from now on due to myself bowling league here now. As you may have noticed, I have started to branch out in my reviews. From this point forward I will start reviewing balls from all three lines, not just Storm. The Altered Reality features the same disturbance core found in the original Reality, but is now wrapped in the S84 cover. The disturbance core boasts an RG of 2.48, differential of 0.052 and intermediate split of 0.018. The original Reality is less than a year old and has already become a favorite for a ton of league and tournament bowlers alike. The Altered Reality offers the same control and ability to blend as the original Reality, but in a slightly lower friction package. The Altered Reality has been my go to ball for a few months now when the Proton, Reality and RST are slowing down too quickly but the lane isn't quite defined enough for the UFO Alert. Before the Altered Reality, I had my Dark Code in the same spot in the bag. When I need a little more shape on a softer pattern, I tend to lean more towards the Dark Code. When I want to stay a little closer to the friction and need more closed angles, the Altered Reality is the better option. When compared to the original Reality, the Altered is cleaner and faster to respond to friction downlane. When compared to the UFO Alert, the Altered is earlier and stronger overall. Head over to your local Storm VIP pro shop and grab your very own Altered Reality today!

After the success I had with the original Reality, I knew I had to get the new Altered Reality. Using the same Disturbance Asymmetric Core, wrapped with the S84 Response Pearl coverstock. The Reality was a very strong ball perfect for fresh heavier oil conditions, but once they started to break down, could start to pick up a little soon, enter the Altered Reality. This is the perfect compliment to the Reality, as you could play the same line and continue to move in without sacrificing carry. For me, I could still play inside in the oil and this ball would pick up in the midlane, but still have plenty of backend. Most pearl balls, do not like that pick up enough in the midlane to play the inside oil, but the Altered had no issues. Lastly, the carry on this ball is second to none. The pins stay low, carrying the light mixers as well as the higher flush shots. 900 Global created a fantastic 1-2 punch with the Reality and Altered Reality.

The all-new Altered Reality features the Disturbance Core which was found on the original Reality wrapped with the S84 Responsive Pearl Reactive coverstock (pearl version of the Reality cover). This new cover and core combination is a first in the 900 series line and it does not disappoint. The Altered Reality and Reality are great compliments to one another. When the Reality starts to burn up a bit early, I am able to switch to the Altered Reality to maintain similar ball motion in the front part of the lane while creating more pop down lane. The Reality and Altered Reality are an excellent 1-2 punch, go out and get yours today!

WOW is all I can say. Right out of the box, I did hit it with a 3000 pad...That is how I am on Pearl balls if you read my reviews. BUT....I shot 794 series with a 300 Game! Right out of the box. Don't get me wrong, I love the Reality! But the Altered...Yeah what a great ball. Some people are different but I had the Altered drilled the same as the Reality. I really enjoy these 2 bowling balls to say the least! What a great ball to follow the Reality! This ball rolls so well. If you have a lot of oil on the lanes, start with the Reality, once the oil carry's down...Yeah the Altered has a bit more back end. I just can't get over how well 900 Global is doing. What a great ball to go with the Reality or enjoy it if its your 1st ball. I can't get over how well it rolls and how much I enjoy it!

900 Global Altered Reality Cover: 1500-Polished S84™ Pearl Reactive Core: Disturbance™ (Asymmetrical) Color: Salmon/Black/Silver Review: 900 Global really set out a beautiful set of pearl balls. We saw the zen, then burner pearl, then wolverine to fill that gap. Now we have the Altered Reality sitting atop all of those. This ball is a monster pearl, yet still holds the predictability and versatility like we see in the popular original Zen. This ball really holds a lot of energy and continuation through the pins. This core simplistic yet beefy and we love it for that reason. We have seen a lot of success with some cover changes on this ball. 2000-3000 grit pads really change the design and shape for some of our tournament players and compliments their solid original Reality well. We look forward to drilling several of these bowling balls. Kyle & Joel Johnson 900 Global Pro Shop Staffers joel@parklanes.net kyle@parklanes.net www.900Global.com #GoGlobal

The 900 Global Altered Reality is the pearl cover follow up to the original Reality. For me, just like the original, this ball is aggressive, belongs at the top of the line up, but is just aggressive further down the lane like a pearl is supposed to be. It does work great as a ball down from the solid Reality, and the continuation window is larger for me than on some other asymmetric balls I have thrown in the past. Much more of a rounded breakpoint instead of hook-stop. I drilled mine 70X5X80 and it is super clean and most definitely saves the motion for down lane. The low pin probably helps on the continuation factor. Overall a great follow up to the OG Reality.
