900 Global Vengeance Returns Bowling Ball

The Vengeance Returns by 900 Global is the latest addition to the Batch 800 Blend and it compliments the original Vengeance perfectly. The biggest difference between the original and the Returns is the coverstock. This coverstock is a hybrid which is also nano-based, meaning, evening though it’s a shiny ball, has some teeth in the coverstock so it doesn’t blow through the spot down-lane. With an RG of 2.47 and a differential of .055, those numbers tell us that the ball wants to dig and flare, so keep that in mind when drilling it! I’ve drilled one so far and have had love the way it rolls. It’s mapped out as 5.5 x 4 x 3. This puts the pin above my middle finger and a pretty decent shift of the CG. I’ve had the most success with the Vengeance Returns when I need to create more shape left-to-right down-lane and use more angle to my advantage. Because of the nano in the cover, I know this ball won’t miss the spot, so I can be more confident in shaping it when needed. I feel like the Vengeance Returns compliments my Viking, Vengeance, and Gremlin Tour-X extremely well. On higher friction surfaces or patterns that don’t provide much volume, the Vengeance Returns is a staple in my bag! Go drill one!

The 900 Global Vengeance Returns has become one of my go-to options once the lanes begin to break down. Mine is drilled 55×4.75×40 with a PAP of 4 1/8" right and 7/8" up, allowing it to clear the front part of the lane with ease while producing an explosive move once it encounters friction. When stronger solid covers start reading too early, the Vengeance Returns is the perfect transition piece. It stores plenty of energy, creates excellent backend motion, and still drives confidently through the pins. If you're looking for a clean, angular ball that shines during late blocks or league transition, the Vengeance Returns is an exceptional choice that always gives me confidence when it's time to open up the lane.

Vengeance Returns combines the strong symmetrical Vengeance core with a hybrid version of the original's coverstock. The result is a big, strong, slightly tumbly core but with a little more kick down lane due to the cover. Shiny symmetrical balls tend to really stand up off the spot and be quick or sharp, but with its single density, high differential core, Vengeance Returns is more rolly than balls like the Phaze 2 Pearl or Rocket A.I., but cleaner than the Bionic. Combined with the stronger-but-cleaner coverstock, that makes this ball a great option when the conditions are medium friction and demand a symmetrical pearl ball, but maybe the backends are really crisp or the corner is flying and you want a ball that will calm down and smooth out off of that friction. If Bionic is too early or too much off the spot, and Phaze 2 Pearl is too clean or too sharp, Vengeance Returns is splits the difference perfectly. This ball definitely fits a gap in our line, right in between some of our most usable pieces. I like to see a tumbly, round shape, so this one is sure to get some use out of me! 900 Global Vengeance Returns Ball Review 900 Global Vengeance Returns uses the same Blast AI core that was used in the orginal Vengeance wrapped with the RB91 Hybrid Coverstock. Core-Symmetrical RG-2.47 Diff-.055 Surface-Poweredge Polish Layout-4.75 x4x1.75 (VLS Layout System) This layout gives me a quicker response to the friction. The Vengeance Returns will be a great compliment to the orginal Vengeance. You can start with the orginal Vengeance on fresh oil when you need more control and then when you need more backend the returns will be the perfect option. One thing i noticed with the returns for a shiny ball it reads the oil while still giving you that strong backend. The returns was giving me the orginal zen vibes the way it was reading the midlane but with a much more responsive backend

Storm Products has released a new Vengeance from the 900 Global brand. It’s called the Vengeance Returns. It features the same symmetrical Blast A.I. core as the original Vengeance. Admittedly, I never threw the original Vengeance because I heard it was a really smooth, strong symmetrical which I didn’t need. But I was very intrigued by the Vengeance Returns. First, it has Reserve Blend (RB) 91 hybrid reactive cover which should make it cleaner and be more in the middle of the arsenal. I like that cover combination with a low RG (2.47 for 15#) and higher diff (0.055) core. So it is not too early because of the mix of pearl in the hybrid cover, but the low RG means it will rev up and read the mid lane. And the high diff will mean it has good flare potential to help it have a continuous down lane motion. The second reason why I was intrigued by the Vengeance Returns is that I heard it’s an alternative to the Bionic for those rare few who don’t like the Bionic. I think I fall into that category as I haven’t found much success with the Bionic. I will say I probably should have done a different layout in the Bionic, but ultimately for me, it reads early to force me to open my angles, then it’s not enough around the corner. I threw the Vengeance Returns for the first time at the regional at Husted’s Hazel Dell which was on the 40’ PBA Regional v2 pattern. It slotted in where I would have expected- after the first couple games when the big asyms bogged down and I needed something cleaner, but that still had enough core dynamics to read the midlane and continue on the back end. I drilled mine 5 ¼ x 4 x 1 ½. It looked pretty good on that pattern. The cover was clean enough to clear the front easily, but it isn’t too clean. The shape was rounded and continuous. I think this is a very good, versatile option to add to the middle of your arsenal and is a slight step down, but in the ballpark with the Bionic.

This ball has attitude but the way it rolls definitely backs it up. This ball allows me to stay in the track after the lanes start to transition. It’s a great step down once my original vengeance starts to be a little too much when the lanes are transitioning. This is the ball I see myself throwing a lot this next league season.

Based on the very popular Vengeance, the team 900 Global has released the next menace onto the lanes with a hybrid version of the Vengeance. Taking the proven RB91 hybrid and adding it to the Blast A.I. core was a very smart move by the team. The VR adds length and recovery when the V has slowed down and you need to get through the front a little bit better. The VR also adds for me a little more “pop” in the backends and where on PRO-Lane and newer SPL the V tended to lose strength in the mid lane, the VR fights through it and gives a longer and stronger reaction. After using it for 2 solid practice sessions, I put the VR into the Haus machine with worn 3000 grit pads and the CTD scanner showed the cover is now closer to 3200 on average and it allowed the VR to stand up a little bit sooner for me on the PRO-Lane surfaces, which my “eyes” liked a little better. On HPL, the ball works better with the Power Edge because of the more worn surfaces that the 2 centers with HPL have in them that I bowl and practice at. The cover takes the changes very well and I already replaced my Attention Star S2 with this ball without any hesitation. While the Original vengeance was made for all the soup and to be smooth and controllable the vengeance retruns keeps some of the characteristics of being predictable but storing all that energy to give the pins hell. Drilling pattern: 4 3/8 x 2 ½ x 2 ¼ PAP: 4.5 over x 1 up. Pin placement: Above bridge I did have a lot of success with the original Vengeance so was excited to get my hands on the Vengeance Returns. Getting a shiny/hybrid coverstock on a successful core seemed like a pretty natural 1-2 punch in any bag. I’ve thrown it a couple of times now, both on a longer/heavier volume sport pattern and a shorter THS. The coverstock, to me, isn’t overly strong so it did require some dry to throw at to get maximum performance, so it struggled a little on the heavier condition. However, the ball reaction itself was very noticeable, and very familiar. This ball gave me OG Zen vibes and I’m here for it. As with the Zen, the Vengeance Returns wants to rev up in the mid-lane and be a little tamer, a little rounder, off the breakpoint. It’s a motion that my eyes see very well, and a motion that has provided past success. I can certainly see this ball being very useful on most house conditions, as well as later in the block on sport conditions. The symmetric Blast A.I. core first found in the Vengeance is paired with a hybrid coverstock. It features a very low RG (2.46) and high differential (0.056). The coverstock, RB-91 Hybrid, is designed to handle medium-heavy to heavy oil conditions and comes with Power Edge factory polish. Mine was drilled 4.5 x 35 (dual angle) or 4.5 x 2.25 (VLS), a fairly typical layout for me. The original Vengeance was super smooth, chuggy, and arcy. While the Returns does not share those ball motion characteristics, it still maintains predictability, even while having a much stronger backend reaction. The motion of this ball makes it extremely versatile, as it is clean enough through the fronts to use on medium-lighter oil, but has enough overall traction to be able to use it when the oil is medium-heavy. The Returns is a ball up from something like a Rocket AI or the original Gremlin, but a small step down from the Transform Pearl. As an added bonus, I love the color combo!

V is back with the Vengeance Returns! Same Blast A.I. Core as the original, and a new twist on the popular RB 91 coverstock, with it being a nano-based and hybrid! This ball is provides a great amount of length and smooth motion off the friction. But once it hits the pins, it’s lights out! Drilled this one 4 3/4 x 4 1/2 x 2 5/8 (55 x 4 3/4 x 40). This layout will help me specifically for transition after a big ball such as the Viking Conquest. The Vengeance Returns will allow me to get a little further left and play more inside, especially when the heads start to burn up! It’s controllable, reliable on the eye for me, and keeps the pins low as the ball goes through the pins. Layout: 4 1/2 x 3 x 3 1/2 Surface: Power Edge Rev Rate: 470 Tilt: 13* The Vengeance Returns brings back for Blast AI core but now paired with the RB 91 Hybrid coverstock and finished with Power Edge. The Vengeance Returns was designed for medium to heavy oil and a small step down from the original Vengeance Solid. The Blast AI core has very low RG and a high differential of .055 which is the highest within the current line. This Vengeance Returns was designed to be cleaner and more responsive then the original while still keeping that large footprint on the lanes. I was able to test this on the 50' 2026 PBA Badger Pattern. On the fresh, I found the Vengeance Return to handle the 35ml of oil that this pattern offers, however, the Power Edge finish and Hybrid coverstock made the ball a little too clean and responsive for what the pattern was asking for. The original Vengeance would smooth out this reaction more and be a better option for the fresh. As the lanes transitioned, I still saw a large footprint on the lane which was comforting as it allowed for consistent read of the pattern. As I moved left into the heavier volumes of oil, the ball still picked up pretty strong in both the front of the lane and the midlane and made a pretty defined move down lane. I wouldn't call this ball angular by any means but provides a strong shape to the pocket that's noticeably more than the Vengeance. What I actually found to be tricky with this ball, was how early and strong the ball still was. Even on 50' of oil, it struggled to retain energy enough to go through the pins right. I had to have good touch on the ball for it to see the lane the right way on this pattern. For the next time, I would remove some of the Power Edge to make the reaction smoother and more predictable. I generally prefer strong cores and coverstocks to try not to do too much on the lane. There are other balls in the Storm Family that will do this better. Compared to the original Vengeance, I saw the Vengeance Returns as about 2 feet later and about 3 boards more of down lane hook. Based on my personal style, the Vengeance line does not match up with me as well since I roll the ball pretty heavy from front to back. I would choose other balls from SPI still in the line such as the Storm Bionic or Storm Phaze 2 that are not as overall strong. I would recommend this ball to those who want a step down from the Vengeance or someone looking for a first transition ball on medium to heavier oil conditions. Like the Vengeance, I think more people will have success with this one who are more down and in bowlers and those who like to keep the ball in front of them more. Those who love the Vengeance, now a new nano based RB91 Hybrid cover, Vengeance Returns hits the lanes!! I bought 2 of them, one pin up and one pin down. I can't wait to try them on different oil conditions. This Vengeance will go a little longer, but still have the drive to go through the pocket. Its fun throwing the Vengeance, then if it hooks a little early pull out the new Vengeance Returns, because it returns to hit the pocket! It rolls very well, reads the mid lane very well, and hit the pocket for sure. Its nice to move a little deeper on the lanes if you have to and have a ball you can rely on.

In our eyes for higher rev players it probably falls outside of the benchmark category. We see this piece being a great starter ball for lower rev players and a great transition piece for higher rev players. If you like strong symmetrical rolling bowling balls like the Phaze II, Summit, or Origin you will really enjoy this ball. Although this shape is slightly more than “benchmark” it is still a great transition ball for heavier oil conditions. Overall, we think this ball is more versatile than the original on a typical house shot because it is not so early rolling.
