Harsh Reality
Ben Lapointe PAP: 4 7/8 over and 1 ¼ up Layout: 5.25 x 4.25 x 3 The new 900 Global Harsh Reality is SPI’s newest hook monster and man does it ever live up to its name. In comparison to the original Reality, I do not see a ton of similarities. The Reality was a touch cleaner on stronger off the spot than the Harsh. The Harsh sits for me between the Gem and the Reality which for me brings excitement. I found I did not match up with the original Reality or Gem. The Reality being a little too clean for a big ball and the Gem being a little too chuggy. The Harsh is the perfect combination of the two. I can see this piece being great out of the top of the bag on longer oil and heavier volume short patterns when urethane isn’t in play. Go get yours today!!!

Harsh Reality
Harsh Reality is the newest Big Cover and Big Core ball from SPI. I have really enjoyed throwing the Reality family of bowling balls. I was a little worried when the Reality went away, but hot on its tail was the Harsh Reality. I feel like this ball is a bit stronger than the original Reality. The cover being the Reserve Blend 902 Solid feels a lot like the strength of the Proton Physix. Global says that chemically, it’s similar to the S84 Solid that was found on the original Reality. Although we have the Gems out there, I prefer the shape of the Reality’s. This ball also has the AI core with after throwing them for a year, I am getting very fond of them. It really makes you think about certain hits, like, “I wonder if another ball would have carried that”. This a ball that needs some volume to be effective. I am going to drill a pin down one to see if I can make it something to use on softer patterns and house shots. Harsh Reality
900 Global Harsh Reality: Tech specs: Disturbance Asymmetric core with all new A.I. technology with the all-new Reserve Blend 902 solid coverstock. Factory finished at 2000 grit and the ball has a HIGH flare capability. Ball layout: 4 x 5 x 2 3/8 th – 2000 grit finish Bowler specs: 15.5 mph and rev rate in the 380’s and my is PAP is 3 ¼ and at zero up/down and tested on Pro-Lane at ABC North Lanes in Harrisburg, Pa. Having drilled the OG Reality, which to me had the roll and shape of a stronger version of one of my all-time favorite balls – the Roto Grip Epic Odyssey, I was excited to drill an even STRONGER version of the Reality. The prior 2 balls in the Reality series, the Altered Reality and the Reality Check were both hit or miss for me. Both of them were very “condition specific” for me. The Harsh Reality is THE strongest in overall core / coverstock I have ever rolled. A TON more energy going off the end of the pattern and entering the pin deck. It just might be “me” but I really do think I hit the ball hit the pins harder. More of a solid sound hit even on the half and light hits. The coloring for mine is really easy to see and read the ball roll and reaction, I can see the “creamsicle orange” and flat gray colors really well and the coloring has me see the reaction a good deal better than any other recent solids. The Harsh Reality is now the TOP DOG in my arsenal. My go to arsenal for the 2 different centers I bowl in, one center has Pro-Lane and the other center has really worn in HPL, are as follows: Harsh Reality, Attention Star, Absolute Power, Optimum Idol, Hustle RIP, and Lighting Storm spare ball / or Ocean Blue Ice Storm (depending on my mood that morning when I pack up and head out.)

Oil monster
The 900 Global Harsh Reality is a really good replacement for the original Reality. For me, is the perfect line that I like to play just front of me with a big oil conditions. The Harsh goes a little bit far on the lane and hit also harder than original reality. I also can play longer with even if the lane become dryer because the Harsh reality is able to continu to closed correctly to the pins when I goes left. Compared to the RotoGrip Magic Gem, this one read more the mid part of the lane and closed less harder at the triangle. I also compared the Harsh reality againts the 900 Global Xponent. The Xponent did average the same think but really less strong. If the you have heavy oil condition, the Harsh is perfect and if is more med oil condition, go with the Xponent. It can also each others were a good 1-2 punch complement. It can also be a really good choice for bowlers who doesn't have lot of rotation. For sure, the 900Global Harsh Reality will be my trustable ball for heavy oil conditions. #strikingworldwide !! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJQxB4Ev5L56n0H958rouPw

Review
Designed for those heavier oil conditions, the Harsh Reality will be a go to on the fresh for when there is a ton of volume, length and/or lane tightness. I found this ball close to the X3, from Roto Grip, although with a bit more overall shape. I intend on utilizing this ball more on sport patterns when I need a big ball to get it to slow down sooner and control the lane. For the league bowler who is lower on the rev side this would be a good option to go if you like those big asymmetrical bowling balls.

HARSH REALITY
Hey everyone, I'm back with another ball review, and this time it's for the 900 Global Harsh Reality. At 14 pounds this ball is wrapped in the 901 Reserve Blend SolidCoverstock and has the Disturbance A.I. Asymmetric Core with an RG of 2.49, Diff of .054, and a 0.019 PSA.. The layout for this ball is 5x4.5x2 This one I am very pleased with as I haven’t thrown A ball from this line, but something spoke to me. Using this ball on a high-friction lower volume of oil showed the strength of what this ball is capable of being. I can say for sure and you can see from the video that this ball needs oil. This ball is very chuggy and needs oil to stay on line. If you are a speed dominant player you could stay in this ball but for me with average speed and lower rev rate I haven't been able to get a full game out of this ball at league but, that allows me the knowing that it will be really good on a higher pattern and/or a sport shot. In league I use this ball in the track for about half a game then jump into the Attention Star and usually that ball I can stay in the rest of the night by making smaller moves to the left than I would have to if I stayed in the Harsh Reality. Oil Beast
I had just drilled up my Absolute Power two weeks prior and decided to drill this bad boy up to roll a little earlier than it. I have been blown away with how strong this ball is on fresh it just grips and continues through the pins. While both balls are strong, the Power definitely has a bit more length than the Harsh with a sharper backend. The one thing I have noticed is the AI Core Technology is truly a gamechanger with how the Harsh Reality gets through the pins. This should be a very popular ball on fresh or patterns with more volume.

Harsh Reality
Harsh Reality Cover Stock: 902 Solid Finish: 2000 Grit Abralon Core: Disturbance Asymmetric Review: The Harsh Reality is the latest addition to the Reality series. The Reality line has been one of 900 Global’s most versatile asymmetric lines to date. With the ability to cover a wide range of ball motions that covers most lane conditions, the Reality line has become a must-have in the bag. The Harsh Reality is the next big ball in that line. The Harsh Reality is the type of ball you pull out of the bag early when the lane conditions are that of a higher volume. This ball really likes to dig into the oil and make a strong overall motion. If you are looking for a new ball before the Open Championship look no further! Will Tefft 900 Global Staff Member will@parklanes.net www.900global.com

Harsh Reality
The Harsh Reality takes the core shape we all loved from the original Reality series and combines it with A.I. core technology. When you combine this more dynamic core with the 902 Solid cover, the result is the strongest Reality I've thrown. This cover creates more traction than the original, and even backends more than the Reality Check due to the A.I. core. This ball is gonna be my first choice on heavy oil conditions, and also a great option to blend out the "cliff" on those over/under house conditions. This strong solid asym is early, blendy, and surprisingly tippy. This ball outhooks all the soild asyms I've had in recent years. The DNA, Gem, and Eternity Pi are all overall weaker and less dynamic downlane than the Harsh Reality.

Harsh and great!
Harsh Reality Cover: 902 Solid Reactive Core: Disturbance + AI RG: 2.47 RG Diff: 0.054 Int Diff: 0.019 My layout: 4.25 x 4.75 x 2.5 The Harsh Reality is a big solid asymmetrical ball that I see working best on heavy to med-heavy conditions. The 902 solid cover on the Harsh is not quite as early as I was expecting, but still digs hard. It reads the fronts even in heavy oil without getting off line too quick. The AI plus the high diff of this big asymm core really shines, because it makes a strong medium response move down lane. I was expecting the Harsh to be more of a replacement of my original Reality, but the core definitely tips a bit harder. Because of this I will probably keep mine at 1000 - 1500 grit as my go to finish to best fit in my bag. Bowler stats: Left handed PAP: 5 x 1/4up Rev rate: 400

900 Global Harsh Reality Coverstock: Reserve Blend 902 Solid Finish: 2000 Grit Abralon Core: Disturbance A.I. Asymmetric (14pd) RG: 2.49 Differential: 0.054 Int Diff: 0.019 Layout: 5 x 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 Layout Extras: 3" Finger Depth, "X" - 4 1/2 D and 1 Inch Left Tester: PAP 6 1/2 R, 1 1/4 D Review: The 900 Global Harsh Reality offers an optimized core design with an aggressive coverstock. This specific design is intended to maximize control with more hook potential then its predecessor the 900 Global Reality. This ball is definitely a number one ball out of the bag you are looking for but with a twist. The Harsh Reality just like the OG will allow you to continue to open the lane up as transition occurs a bit more than some other offerings. At times, "big asyms" tend to quit and the next ball down is not quite enough yet. The Harsh Reality should fill the gap on longer and higher volume patterns and will allow you to stay in a bit longer then previous releases. You should expect a continuous, strong reaction throughout the lane. Also, 900 has kept the Int diff lower on the Harsh Reality to achieve some length down lane so the ball as designed does not "hook at your feet" and "quit". This has been the legendary wow factor of the OG Reality and it continues on here. Plus being the first A.I. offering in the 900 line makes it even more attractive to possibly catch that up to five percent carry difference being discussed around Amplified Inertia. As previous noted above, the Harsh Reality will work best on longer and higher volume patterns. If your desire is to stay in your big asym longer as the lanes transition this ball will not disappoint. If you want the biggest hooking and most powerful 900 ball today in your bag this is the one! Don't hesitate to try out the 900 Global Harsh Reality today. Michael Slatky 900 Global Staff Member York, PA

Harsh Reality!
The Harsh Reality is 900 Globals newest 900 series ball. For anyone that was a big fan of the Reality like myself, as soon as you heard it was discontinued, I was hoping the Harsh would be close. The Harsh features the same core as the original but is now wrapped in reserve blend 902 solid. The Harsh for me is just a touch earlier and stronger overall but still allows me to play in the same zone as my Reality. The Harsh having AI core technology slightly increases the overall diff and reduces the RG. The Harsh for me is going to be the perfect ball down from my GEM and ball up from my Summit. 900 Global Harsh Reality review by Lonnie Pemberton
Core: Disturbance A.I. Asymmetric Cover: Reserve Blend 902 Solid Finish: 2000 Abralon RG: 2.48 (15) Differential: 0.054 (15) ME: Right-Handed Tweener Speed: 12-13 mph Rev Rate: 315 Axis Tilt: 14° Axis Rotation: 74° PAP: 5 1/8 R 7/8 Up Ball Layout: Pin Over Ring 5 1/2 X 4 1/2 X 3 VLS The new 900 series release from 900 Global is an upgraded replacement for the very successful Reality. The new Harsh Reality uses the Disturbance Assymetric core newly wrapped in AI technology. The Reserve Blend 902 solid cover helps create more motion in oil, making this ball a powerful upgrade to what was already one of the best heavy oil balls on the market. I tested the Harsh Reality in my league. I didn't have alot of hope that I would get more than a game out of the Harsh Reality due to the lane condtions in my center. While they use a longer pattern with a high volume of oil, the lane panels are pretty beat up in the front and the pattern tends to play much shorter depending on how long the oil has to sit. In my experience the balls that are very strong in the front of the lane tend to burn up with the early friction, taking them out of play as soon as the lanes begin to transition. My immediate impressions were a bit of surprise as to just how much the ball hooked over-all. To place that in context I was a full arrow left with my feet compared to where I would start with my Eternity Pi. I was surprised at how well the ball hooked and hit from that deep so early. My biggest surprise came in games 2 and 3. Our lanes transition quickly and the I kept waiting for the ball to start losing it angle through the pins. 2nd game went as well as the first and it wasn't until game 3 that I started to notice any let down. I made the small adjustment of getting the ball a little further out on the front panel and it kept me right in play. I may have sacrificed a minimal amount of carry the 2nd half of the game, but it was miles more playable than any other big solid i've tried to throw in there. I lucked into catching a FRESHLY oiled lane when I went to shoot video with it. This lane played tighter than any time I've probably ever bowled in this house and it was really a perfect condition for what I wanted to test the ball on. I don't think I've ever gotten every shot I needed for a video so quickly. This ball is going to be the go to on the highest volume patterns and I think its incredibly versatile, taking well to hand position changes. As a pro shop guy I can see this ball being a staple at the top of the line that will rival the original Reality. It matches up well to even guys with more hand and less speed and it's the money ball for anyone who needs help getting the ball to hook on oil. Harsh Reality - Ball Specs Cover Stock: 902 Solid Finish: 2000 Grit Abralon Core: Disturbance Asymmetric Layout: 60 x 5 x 70 RG: 2.48 Differential: 0.054 Intermediate Diff: .019 Review The Tour Engineered 900 Series all new Harsh Reality utilizes the Reserve Batch Blend 902 solid coverstock combined with the Disturbance Asymmetric A.I. Core to give you the strongest ball in the 900 Global line. Yes, I believe the Harsh Reality is stronger and more versatile than the Original Reality. I drilled my Harsh Reality pin down and was surprised how much energy it had down lane. I tested this ball on a 44 feet sport pattern. As a mid to low rev player, I was able to play straight up the outside and move left and play inside 10 with success. For me the Harsh Reality is two to three boards stronger than the original Reality. The Harsh Reality will be my first choice on heavy oil patterns. This is a great ball for all levels of bowlers. Harsh Reality Review
Layout: 5 x 3-1/2 x 2-1/2 Surface: Box - 2000 Abralon The new Harsh Reality is a stronger upgrade compared to the original Reality. The Disturbance core is brought back but with utilizing the AI Core Technology which gives this core a lower rg and higher differential. It is paired with the 902 Blend Solid Coverstock. This means stronger overall ball motion and the strongest 900 Global ball to date! I got to test this ball on a 44ft typical house shot and a 42ft heavier oil sport pattern. These are my results: On the House Pattern, I saw very strong and early ball motion with strong read in the midlane with a more controlled backend motion. The strength of the core and coverstock combination makes its "A" game more up the lane and better in the heavier oil concentration. It's stronger front of the lane read made for a milder backend, so it made more sense for me to try to keep the ball in front of me more for the best results. The Pros of this ball was how well, it read the midlane and continued through the pins. It did not burn out as much as a typical big solid asymmetrical ball. It actually felt a little cleaner than expected. The issues I had was when I got a little faster with my ball speed. The smoother nature of the backend did not allow it to read the lane properly if I overthrew the ball often resulting in a 2-4-5 leave or similar. When I stayed nice and soft at release, the ball had no issues continuing and struck pretty much every shot that hit the pocket. Like most high-end balls, I was able to get about 1.5 games before I needed to clear the fronts better. Ultimately at the end of 2 games, the ball had to be put away due to being too early. On the 42ft sport pattern, I saw a lot of similar characteristics as the house pattern but with better continuation. The Harsh Reality definitely preferred straighter angles on the lane for best carry percentage, but I was able to open the lane up a little more than the house pattern during the first transition period. The ball reminded me of a stronger and more responsive urethane like ball motion. Ideally, the Harsh Reality would be best used on fresh lane conditions or a ball up from a urethane ball such as the Zen U or IQ 78U that provides similar motion. Using more surface on the ball can provide and early and smoother motion even more while shining up the coverstock can give a cleaner and slightly more angular motion. Best bowlers to use this ball could be a tournament bowler, a more speed dominant bowler or one with a low rev rate for heavier oil conditions.

900 Global Harsh Reality - 900 Series Coverstock: Reserve Blend 902 Solid - 2000 Abralon Core: Disturbance A.I. The Harsh Reality was designed to be the strongest ball in the 900 Global lineup and generate a relentless and powerful reaction on the heaviest conditions. It features the Reserve Blend 902 coverstock and Disturbance A.I. core. The Harsh gave me a great look sliding on 33, looking 18 at the arrows with my breakpoint around 8-9. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to move left and not sacrifice ball motion and carry. I was also impressed at how well it blended out the wet/dry on our high friction house pattern. When compared to the Eternity Pi, the Harsh was earlier and rounder downlane. The Harsh also feels a little earlier and stronger than the original. It will be one of the first balls out of my bag on heavier tournament patterns and if you are a low-mid rev player that needs a little help in league this could also be a great choice. The Eternity Pi and original Reality have been reliable tournament balls over the past two seasons. The Harsh will replace my original Reality and be an excellent compliment to the Pi. A true TANK!!
Solid ASYMS are where I typically have found myself falling in love most when it comes to building my arsenal. Being a fan of the reality and its predictable shape through heavier conditions, I was excited for the release of the Harsh reality and it has not disappointed. It's strong core and cover allow it to have a consistent shape and motion that you can rely on, without it getting too out of control, and when it hits the pocket it DEMOLISHES the pins. I will say that it reads the mid lane better than almost any ball I've ever used which I imagine comes from it being the strongest ball 900 global has ever made. I recommend for heavy oil, of course, but also for those who are looking for a tank that can HOOK!
-
902 Coverstock!
This ball is a lover in my bag! And a lover of oil. Compared to the Eternity PI, it hooks earlier and surprisingly more back end. Compared to the original Reality, definitely a lot more ball. Especially with the new A.I. core technology. I myself with what I normally bowl on, I'm going to like it a lot more once it gets a little more lane shine on it. Throwing this ball...you can see it reacts to the mid lane a lot more. So it loses a little when it reacts too early. A little lane shine on this solid ball I think will work a little better for me on House shots. All I can say is wow does she flare!! This ball is the strongest ball 900 Global has and I'm glad to have it!

900 Global Harsh Reality
900 Globals newest 900 series ball is a TANK. The Harsh Reality features the AI Core tech which brings the Disturbance Core to an RG at 2.48, Diff 0.054 and PSA of 0.019 and the 902 Solid cover. I drilled mine 5 x 5.5 x 2 and my first impressions of throwing this ball is that it is a lot earlier and smoother than the original Reality. This ball needs oil and really wants to tumble down lane. If you are looking for a new asymmetrical solid ball for tournaments or Nationals, this is going to be your ball.
