The Storm Physix Blackout offers a sharp, angular backend reaction due to its Equalizer™ A.I. Core and NeX™ Pearl Reactive coverstock making it ideal for medium to oily conditions, where it excels with length and a strong turn at the breakpoint. In comparison, the Storm Virtual Energy Blackout, with its Shape Lock HD Core and ReX Pearl Reactive coverstock, provides a more controlled motion with a focus on versatility and strong mid-lane read, transitioning smoothly into a strong backend, but with a slightly more continuous arc rather than the sharp angularity of the Physix Blackout. Another comparable ball would be the 900 Global Origin, featuring the Ellipse Asymmetrical AI Core and RB 93 Hybrid reactive coverstock, is designed for heavier oil and creates a strong, consistent motion with an emphasis on control and power throughout the entire lane, making it a bit more predictable and less angular than the Physix Blackout. Overall, while the Physix Blackout delivers more backend energy and a sharper motion, both the Virtual Energy Blackout and Origin are more focused on control, smooth transitions, and overall lane versatility. I was super excited for this ball! I just recently got it and I love it! Not only does it smell great but it is so smoooooth! I have a different layout on this ball then my usual layouts because I recently changed my PAP because I have been making some hand position changes. The layout I have on this ball is 50x4x45. The ball rolls very nice and smooth! I highly recommend this ball!

350-357 RPM 17MPH PAP 4.5 x1/2up. I drilled this with my standard 45x4x45 layout. This is the first ball out of my bag. This ball complements my virtual energy blackout as a good 1,2 combo. I have also thrown this on a 38 foot sport pattern. With it being smoother off the spot, it worked really well.

The Storm Physix Blackout is a bold addition to the Physix lineup. From the moment it hits the lane, this ball commands attention with its exceptional hook potential and ability to handle a variety of oil patterns. The NEX Pearl dull coverstock and the innovative Physix core creates a dynamic motion that’s both strong and consistent, offering a perfect balance of control and power. My layout of 4 x 4 x 4 VLS pin down PSA slightly past the VAL. Lately I have use this on the big asymmetrical balls in the SPI lineup. It offer me so much control front to back. In my video I compare to a DNA with similiar RG/Diff specs. You can see the NEX Pearl being much cleaner up front with better backend reaction while the DNA is more midlane read. This is almost the same shape as the Absolute Power for me with just a stronger cover. My Ion Max is 3-4 boards more of hook potential. All are drilled the same and offer a wide range of choices. What truly stands out about the Storm Physix Blackout is its reliability. Whether you’re playing in heavy oil or medium conditions, this ball delivers a smooth, consistent reaction shot after shot. You can always count on it to provide a solid backend reaction, making it an excellent choice for bowlers who need both precision and adaptability. The durability of the Physix Blackout ensures it will maintain its performance, even after countless games. The Storm Physix Blackout is a bold, reliable choice for bowlers seeking a ball that offers both power and precision. It’s a true performer that’s ready to tackle any challenge the lane presents. The Physix Blackout is the latest addition to the Storm blackout line. This ball uses the NEX pearl cover stock along with the A I technology. Sanded at 2000 out of the box. The Physix for is a very smooth controllable ball. I used the layout of 45x5x35 one of my favorite layouts. Compared to the Virtual Energy Blackout this more of the first ball out of the bag. The latest Blackout ball from Storm is the Physix Blackout. This ball features the Atomic AI core and is wrapped in NEX pearl coverstock finished at 2000 grit abralon. At 15 pounds the Physix Blackout has a low RG of 2.47 with a differential of .055 and an intermediate differential of .018. I was a huge fan of the the Physix line so this release was one I was very excited for and the Blackout did not disappoint. For me the Blackout is in between the original Physix and the Infinite Physix. The pearl coverstock of the Blackout has a dull finish to it, but it does not slow down the backend motion of this ball. The Blackout is cleaner than the original but is sooner and more continuous than the Infinite Physix. The Physix Blackout is a great ball to start the night when the heads are fresh and the lane gives the Blackout enough length on its own. When the heads start to transition, the Blackout starts to read sooner than I like but I know I can throw this ball with steeper angles and still have it come back and go through the pocket. This ball is my favorite and most versatile of the three Blackout balls.

The PhysiX Blackout is the latest release in the long line of PhysiX balls, but the first to feature the Atomic AI Core. I still have a hard time believing the PhysiX Blackout has the NEX pearl coverstock, with it sanded to 2000, it looks just like a solid ball - and behaves much more like a solid than a pearl. I drilled it up with my new favorite asymmetric layout, 5 x 5 x 4 that puts the pin in my middle finger. The PhysiX Blackout is extremely smooth and controllable. I was absolutely shocked to see how well the ball performed through all 3 games of league, something I’ve rarely been able to do with either dull or asymmetric pieces. Anyone who loved the Proton Physix should be ecstatic as the Physix Blackout is a true pearl version of that ball. The Physix Blackout for me is the perfect ball down from my Harsh Reality and Ion Max. The Physix Blackout has been an awesome game one piece for league as well. There are a few lines that come out each year and as a huge fan of the PhysiX line I couldn’t wait to get holes in this one. First thing is that the fragrance is Pineapple and has a really good smell. Now onto the ball….The PhysiX BO comes at a surface of 2000 and is a very strong rolling ball. If you find this to be too strong give it some time for the oil to get into the ball. Like any new ball it will tame down just a tad and you will know what this ball is all about. I found it to be a higher volume ball as the center I bowl at is a higher friction surface and needs some oil to really shine. Speaking of that I have seen others that have shined theirs and this ball looks fantastic on the house shot. So back to my session I started standing on 15 and going up 10 and the ball took off. I jumped 5 left with my feet only and again the ball jumped onto the headpin. Moved 5 again with my feet and 5 with my eyes and now the ball started to look really good. Of Course there was no hold when I missed and it made me feel like I had to be perfect. I have another session with this ball with the surface before I test it with Polish. Seeing that the all new Level is soon to be released and might be on paper a better option to keep surface on that ball. Physix Blackout https://www.youtube.com/shorts/n8NFbT7Nrj0 Attention Star S2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3G-wOwqjv0&t=1s... Road Warrior https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8T_lgwG4BM&t=1s Origin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFs8AQas00g&t=1s Ball Reviews: Physix Blackout: The Physix Blackout has become one of my favorite balls. It is usable on a variety of conditions and has become the first out the bag on THS in different centers which play entirely different which shows some of the versatility of this ball. The pearl cover with the 2000 finish allows the ball to be clean through the front of the lane yet smooth off the breakpoint and allows plenty of continuation down lane when it is needed most. I have been able to play with my angles closed and opened as well as get a little deeper into game 2 than other asym options that would typically burn up by this point. This ball, also, was good on sport. Bowling on 45' where my angle was closed towards the pocket this ball provided plenty of motion through the pins given the longer distance and higher volume of what I was bowling on. This ball is a must have for the competitive bowler and is another great rendition in the Physix line. Attention Star S2: The hybrid version of the Attention line is out with a much more controllable smooth motion compared to its predecessor the Attention Star. The S2 is great for those medium to heavier oil conditions when control is needed. I found this very usable on sport conditions when my angles needed to be closed and I wanted to keep everything in front of me and control to the pocket. This ball is slower responding than the original which allows you to use this on the fresh. When the lanes begin to hook up front and a cleaner reaction is needed you can piggy back onto to the original to continue to allow your ball to angle down lane without sacrificing energy and hitting power at the pins. Road Warrior: A new iteration the the popular Road line is back with the Road Warrior. This version is a pearl with the R2S deep cover. It is much slower than the original HyRoad pearl, which makes it more controllable. When you need a cleaner reaction than the stronger asym or symmetrical's the Road Warrior will be a good option to go to. Origin: New core, new cover and tons of power. The Origin is great for those medium to heavier oil conditions. At first, I found the ball a little too clean so I adjusted the surface to 2000 to get it to pick up sooner. The surface adjustment made all the difference in seeing the ball motion I was looking for. I found success on THS when the lanes play tight and I want to play more up the track area. Origin reserved tons of energy as it exited the pattern and continued well through the pins. Also, saw success on sport when my angles needed to slowly open up this ball was strong enough to dig into the deeper part of the lane where oil was still present yet provided strong continuation down lane that didn't sacrifice carry. The Origin will be a good option on on fresh or transition.

Likes: What is there not to like about this ball? For me, its in my bag! his ball rolls so good, I'm really happy with it. I never had a Physix, but this ball is black, so I had to give it a try. I was a little worried being 2000 out of the box, but once I threw it, it had a spot in my bag. For me, it reads the mid lane VERY WELL. Then it reads the back end, but it doesn't snap when it hits the dry. It works, say the Virtual Energy Blackout snaps to hard, or the Lightning Blackout doesn't hook enough, This ball is perfect right in the middle, but even more. With the new cover NeX Pearl, to me it feels like it blends the lane, Even works on drier lanes for me and you can move deeper to play the middle of the lane, or play a little straighter when that lanes are oily. I'm very happy with it. Dislikes: Not sure yet, This cover cleans up very well, I was looking for maybe some lane shine on it? But the cover cleans up very well...So...nothing to dislike about it lol

The Storm Physix Blackout features the NeX Pearl Reactive cover, Atomic A.I. Core, and Sanded at 2000 Grit Abralon. This is the newest ball in the Blackout line from storm and using NeX cover on a ball that we have not seen in a while. This ball is strong and wants to read really early out of the box with a fresh cover. As it lane shined up it did not read so early as it gave me more of that down lane pop. But with a fresh cover at 2000-grit or lower, this ball could be one of the biggest balls in the bag sitting just below the big sanded solids. Right now during the winter months the oil seems to be a little heavier or more volume so the Blackout is first out of the bag ball. I have not shined it up but the few I have seen seem like an earlier and stronger VEBO, if you went that route. This is going to be a great ball for higher volume and another great release from Storm Ball review link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzDmc3ykJPE&t=7s Tobias Myers #Stormnation

This gives the Blackout an earlier midlane reaction with a bigger backend. Plus the 2000 grit pearl cover and along with the AI enhanced core allows the Physix Blackout ball reaction to be more consistent and reliable. Storm PhysiX Blackout Coverstock: NeX Pearl Reactive Finish: 2000 Grit Abralon Core: Atomic A.I. Core (14pd) RG: 2.52 Differential: 0.054 Int Diff: 0.016 Layout: 4 3/4 x 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 - 2LS Tester: PAP 6 1/2 R, 1 1/4 D Review: The PhysiX Blackout takes the well designed Atomic Core, adds in A.I. and wraps it with the NeX coverstock that was used on the Storm Axiom. The 2K Abralon finish adds the right touch for most league and tournament bowlers. For my review of the PhysiX Blackout I tested the ball on two fresh house shots at two different centers along with an Infinite PhysiX (15pd) which is also a sanded pearl reactive. For me, the PhysiX Blackout did not require any surface adjustments on the two house patterns I tested it on. I was most impressed that the ball strength did not overtake my ball speed which is on the low side for a thumbless player. I did not throw the Physix Blackout through the breakpoint which on occasion I have tended to do with some pearl offerings. I learned that the PhysiX Blackout if drilled strong for a player can tend to be a hook monster for some players. The balanced layout I chose makes the PhysiX Blackout a definite starter in the THS bag. I tend to like balls that have that traction type look and this ball provides that for me. The entry angle I have been able to create with the PhysiX Blackout has been a definite plus and provides me some room to keep moving inside and not lose pin carry. The Infinite PhysiX for me did the same during its time period. I'm really excited to see how the PhysiX Blackout performs over time and on an array of sport patterns too. Be sure to start off the new year with your PhysiX Blackout. I have a feeling you will not be disappointed in a ball that gets the job done. Storm’s latest Signature line ball features a 2000 Grit NEX Pearl cover wrapped around the Atomic AI Core. I drilled my Physix Blackout 4 x 4.5 x 2 and have thrown it for a few times and I’m quite impressed by it. For a big asymmetric pearl ball it really reminded me of a solid. It was very smooth and didn’t over react when I threw it into the dry too quick. The NEX cover allows it to still handle some oil so I can see this being an overall great ball for a wide range of bowlers and conditions. House shots to sport shots this ball is going to be a must have in the bag because it could be the first ball out of your bag fro the fresh or it could be the second or third ball out of your bag once the lanes start to transition. Compared to my X-Cell the Blackout is smoother and about 4/5 less overall hook. The X-Cell actually created a ton more angle down lane and the Physix Blackout is probably 2/3 feet sooner than the X-Cell.

This ball not only looks great, smells great, but rolls great. I drilled this ball to be a touch weaker than my Attention Star S2 and has been the perfect complement. Once my S2 starts to burn up I can switch to the PhysiX Blackout and not move a board. The Blackout gives me good length for a ball that is 2000 out of the box, and due to the surface, it reads the midlane and still packs a punch on the backend due to the pearl cover. This ball is a must have!!!

This time with AI! The Physix Blackout is a new pearl asym from Storm in the signature line. Spoiler alert: I love it! One of my favorite current line balls is the Vebo but there are times were it cant handle volume, especially when it’s mounded up in the middle. The PBO solves that problem! The motion is pretty similar but the cover is much stronger and can handle the oil. The sanded cover doesn’t bog down the reaction too much, so there’s plenty of backend. If you like Physix line, the Physix Blackout does the “Physix thing” and hooks and gets forward. But not too much, Physix forward, IYKYK. I think the Physix Blackout is my favorite Physix and I’ve already drilled another one.

Storm Physix Blackout Layout: 5 ½ x 3 ½ x 2 ½ Ball specs: Atomic Core with A.I. outer core technology wrapped in NEX pearl coverstock with box finish is 2000 grit. The holiday season is here and so is the next Signature Series release – the new Physix Blackout. The new Blackout fits in between the 2 prior releases, the Virtual Energy and the Lighting Blackouts, and I am LOVING IT!!! With the Atomic Core, the ball is smoother and “gentler” in the mid lane and does not have the hard reaction in the backend like the VEB or the LB. The PB reads and reacts very smoothly for me, and I can use it on fresh and making small adjustments through the night in league and practice, I can stay with the ball longer than normal “fresh” condition balls I currently use, like the Sublime Focus and my favorite ball for the past year the Hustle X-ray. Where I need to jump out of these two balls in the middle of the matches or in tournament play when the fronts are a little used up, the strength of the Atomic Core and the NEX cover finished at 2000 grit, allows me more room to play with and able to stay with the stronger piece. I still like switching to the LB when they get really fried out, or where I bowl on older HPL where the front and middle panels are so beat up that anything with a more compressed core would start up sooner, the Physix Blackout gets down the lane but still provides stability and reliability. The Physix Blackout is starting to become my 2nd favorite ball this bowling season. This will replace 2 balls in my current league and tournament bags. Cannot wait to drill the second one once it arrives. Check for upcoming Storm Matchmaker Live! Events in your area, or chat with your local pro shop about the Physix Blackout and how it will help elevate your game.

Lightning was 2-2 right and was sharper on the backend when it saw the friction. layout: 4 1/2 x 3 x 2 Surface: 2000 Abralon with Power Edge Finish Rev Rate: 470 RPM Tilt: 13* The Infinite Physix has been one of my favorite league balls in the last few years so was pretty excited when this new Physix Blackout was announced! The Atomic Core has always matched up well to my game and with this AI version, I knew it would be great on the heavier tournament conditions and my current 44ft league pattern. Paired with the NEX Pearl coverstock with added nano-particles, the Physix Blackout can handle both the fresh and transition with ease. I chose to add Power Edge Finish on mine because of my success with the Infinite Physix with which I finished with Reacta Shine Polish. When I compared the two balls on my house pattern, I saw a lot of similar features. The Physix Blackout with its strong coverstock was stronger and a little smoother than I anticipated compared to the Infinite. The Power Edge finish got the ball through the front with ease and gave me ample continuation through the pins which is what I have always expected with the Physix line. Compared to the Infinite, I saw about 4 boards more of overall hook with the Blackout with very similar shape in the backend. When using it in league, I was able to use it on the fresh because it still gave me enough midlane traction and backend control you would need on the fresh. As the lanes transitioned, I really didn't have to move too much left with my feet to keep my striking going. The cleaner finish of the Power Edge got the ball through the front still with ease even with 6 other right-handed bowlers on the pair. Into game 3, I did start to see the strength of the core and cover combo which forced my feet about a zone further left. The control of the coverstock made me have to come around the side of the ball a little bit to get the corners out. What was great, was the ability to use it for the 3 games of league. Generally, for asymmetrical balls, I don't have that ability too often s it was certainly nice to see. I recommend this ball to anyone who liked the infinite physix but wants a little more teeth on it, a pearl ball that they can use on the fresh when dull or the conditions are right and with polish, can make it a transition ball off of an Ion Max. Medium to lower rev rates will also love this ball on a variety of lane conditions as it will be strong enough for heavy oil but not as early as a solid asymmetrical piece. Storm Physix Blackout Review Layout VLS-5x4x2 3/4 Surface-2000 Grit The Storm Physix Blackout uses the Atomic Core with AI Technology wrapped with the NEX Pearl coverstock. The Physix Blackout will be a great compliment to the high performance Storm lineup. The Physix Blackout will fit between the Ion Max and the Ion Pro with continuous ball motion. For me the Physix Blackout will be cleaner than the Ion Max with more backend but pick up more in the midlane than the Ion Pro. For those of you that had the Infinite Physix you will notice that the Physix Blackout will be stronger ball motion overall due to the stronger coverstock. The Virtual Energy Blackout will be a lot longer with a sharper backend but will not handle as much oil. I can definitely see having multiple Physix Blackout’s in my bag with different surface preps due to the versatility of the core and coverstock. The Storm Physix Blackout will be available December 13th!!!!!!

I drilled the new Storm Physix Blackout 5x4.5x2 using the vls layout system. The goal of this layout is to give me a bit more length, but still have the ball retain enough energy to get through the pins. Initial thoughts of this ball are Strong, smooth, and versatile. This physix blackout features NeX Pearl Cover paired with the Atomic Ai core. With NeX being on the cover, this ball wants to roll really early, even with it being a pearl. After throwing it for a few games I saw the 2000 grit box finish wear off a touch, which made the ball have more length, and retain more energy. In a tournament bag, this ball would for sure be one of the first 2 balls out of my bag. If your looking for a early yet clean shape, this is the ball for you! I highly recommend picking this ball up when you get the chance!

The NEX cover with it's Nano Technology provides strong mid-lane motion even in high volume oil patterns. The engine in the ball is the Atomic Core featuring Amplified Intertia (A.I.) Technology. The Atomic core has been a stalwart for continuous down-lane power. The combination gives you the earlier motion you need without sacrificing the power through the pins. I tested the Physix Blackout for the first time in league. First observation was a pretty obvious one. This ball hooks a lot. I had to move left from where I'd been throwing even the other strong balls and make sure I wasn't rolling it into the lane too early. Second observation was, man this thing keeps coming around. The lanes have been a bit tight lately and I've fallen into the habit of trying to help the ball more. The Physix Blackout neither needs or wants the help. My advice is point it right and let it eat. I also threw the ball a few days later on a drier lane. When recording my video reviews I often have difficulty securing a freshly oiled lane. The advantage is that if I opted not to try the ball through the transition on league night, I get an idea of where I would have ended up with it. No surprises that it took even more effort to clear the front of the lane, but I was really happy with how the ball kept going through the pins. I experimented a bit with rotating the ball a bit more and it really responded well. This isnt terribly common among balls this strong, many of them don't want to respond to tilt and rotation changes but the Physix Blackout was very responsive. I threw it head to head with the Ion Max and Attention Star S2 and found it fills the gap between the two perfectly. It gives you the best of both balls in fact. I think this ball is going to be a big hit. It's going to be that strong ball that you can match up with most any style. It will hook with the strongest balls, but doesn't get forward and start handing out flat tens the way many strong balls do when you've got to move left. Rev deficient bowlers who need the help with love this ball. The guys who already have power games and want that 'top of the bag' ball that keeps hooking through the transition will find this ball a staple for tournament play. A-1 First ball out.
